I purchased my breadmaker at a garage sale for $5 yesterday and already in love with it. It hadn't even been opened out of the box yet... Can't beat that =D
I was helping a friend move into her new place and out of nowhere she's like 'Hey, want a breadmaker?' So I brought it home. BEST. GIFT. EVER. So little effort for such a great outcome. I love to toast and butter it.. heaven. :)
Sweet Lady has a great personality,
The hole at the bottom of the bread can be avoided if you remove the paddle once the dough is ready, the machine beeps when is done.
THANKS TO YOU, I HAVE BECOME MORE CONFIDENT!! I use my breadmaker 2-3 times a week and make different types of breads and I refer to this video often; thanks again and your demo is well done and complete.
Directions for almost every breadmaker (regular loaf):
Add wet ingredients to tin.
Add dry ingredients (except for yeast)
Make a small well in dry ingredients, add yeast.
Put tin in machine, select loaf type and press start.
THANKS, my husband gave me a bread maker 5 years ago and it was sitting in my storage room cause I had no instructions or a clue as to how to use it. Your video is fantastic and now I can use my bread maker! I've been dreaming of this day!
Love this thanks! I've had a bread maker for 2 years and never used! I'm going to try this right now! Great job!
Gail, a quick thanks!
Following your excellent example and instructions, I baked a loaf of bread for the very first time! Using a bread machine my mom ordered one of those late night cable TV shows, but she never got around to using, I searched the net for information. Only here on RUclips were there any clues of how to go about it.
You made some important points that put me at ease.
1. Most of the bread machines are pretty much the same.
2. Having the right ingredients measured and ready!
It's a good idea to remove the mixing container while adding ingredients to avoid spillage into the oven part of your bread maker.
I plan to send this link to my grown children that never paid attention when I was baking bread from scratch- now they will be able to make great bread as well, plus I got a bread maker for myself at the thrift store for $6.00! This video really helped.
Brilliant recipe and best part of video is near the end !!! Very cute Laughing baby xxx
Hi I made your recipe in my bread machine...DELICIOUS!!! Your video is great and your helper is adorable :)
Thanks!! My sister-in-law just gave me her brand new bread machine but it doesn't have a manual. I tried your recipe and it worked great!
Hi Gail!! Yes, it's me again!! Just a quick note to say THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!I refer to your video every time I want to make bread.. I have the same maker and your video is INDISPENSABLE !! You and your family have a great and safe weekend!!
Thank you for posting this. My friend moved on to baking bread in the oven and gave me her bread machine..with no manual. I'm going to make my first loaf this weekend!
Excellent video!!. I tried your recipe and it came out great. Thank you so much!!
I bought an Oster Breadmaker, and it came with an instruction booklet and quite a few easy to follow recipes. Any time you purchase something like this and it doesn't have a manual, visit the product brands web site and download the user guide. I've got a slew of user guides for all kinds of things in my Documents folder that come in handy when I need them. You can also use Google to search for things like "Hamilton Beach 2lb Breadmaker recipes".
thank you !!!
it was fun to watch and to learn a new thing, hihick .... and I love your baby's sweet laugh!!
good job!!
TFS!!
Thanks for the video. Im using a bread machine for the 1st.time & you guessed it..No manual! Lol
thanks for the tips i am looking into buying one and i think i will - your video was helpful
THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING; guess I showed my ignorance with a box mix; that is why I rely on people such as you who are more in tune. THANKS AGAIN!!
Great video...thank you for sharing!! What a CUTE baby & the clutter free kitchen looks spectaclular! :)
Very nice, right on. Keep following your dream, you are getting there thanks!
I made pizza tonight with homemade dough. My son is 20; I can't remember how old my breadmaker is, but I do know I had it when he was born. I'll love to have all my appliances be as durable as my breadmaker.
Hi Gail,Yes it's me again; I keep forgetting how to use my bread machine and this is still the BEST TUTORIAL I have found anywhere!!Do you have more videos on variations and other how-to and hack videos available??? THANKS!!
After baking my own since 2004, I've gathered quite a regular motion in handling just about right with my paddles being removed in good time and also, unlike many who presumed after the average 3,30 minutes of uninterrupted baking on its own, I bake mine and see to it, I'm around no matter what!!!
Oh this is such a great video. Am considering a breadmaker, and slicer thingy. Thanks
Thanks for this video! I dont have any instructions with my bread maker, and I was worried that it was going to be too complicated to use!
your baby is o cute lol! I will use my bread maker today for the 1st time
Google manuals online and the break maker manufacturer.
I ended up inheriting one, use it regularily now, if you pick one up and need the manual, these guys have most manuals for breakmakers. I used to make break by hand for years, but I find the bread maker saves a tonne of clean up afterwards.
You might want to proof the yeast first for 10 minutes and coat the "bowl" with olive oil.
Oh my gosh ty so much for this!!!! I sooo want to try a bread maker for my family!!! love fresh baked bread!!!
oooo thanks today im using this machine is the first time im going to used it im mexcan and i love it thanks for your recepie
Thanks for the help your baby is beautiful !
Hi Lady !
Bread is great!
But your Baby Camera op/Producer/director is awesome!
Be Proud Mom !
the machine should beep when the dough is done mixing to tell you to remove the kneading paddle thingy..
thanks for the recipe! i just got a breadmaker for my 15th birthday yesterday haha
Very good and helpful thanks!
i gushed at the end.... your baby is so cute
Nicely done video. Thanks !
Wow very good voice! A food channel needs to hire this woman!
thank you so much. you are so helpful .
@GraceJonesBoiis She was referring to bread machines bought at a garage sale. People don't keep manuals very often, so used ones don't have a manual....
Thank you so very much for this... A friend gave me a bread machine and I have had it sitting around since New Year's. Going to try to make some bread after seeing you presentation! Thank you! And I am another person that absolutely LOVES your kitchen! (^_^)
ohhhh, so sweet baby.I am Indian lady & first time use this machine. {today,,,,,NOW}..thanks.
About to try this right now.
You can go on-line and get the exact Manual by naming the Brand etc. That's what I did when I purchased one for $12.00 at a thrift store. Good Luck! Like your presentation.
I like you. And I like this video. Thank you for sharing!
Cheers missed it the 1st time around was so excited about what the bread maker could do! LOL Regal Kitchen Pro
Actually that beep is telling you it's time to add extras such as raisins and nuts. The mixing paddle is shaped to slide out of the cooked loaf upon completion. Last two pieces have a little hole (can't complain about that! : ) Some machines have a collapsing mixer blade that folds over when kneading is finished. Don't stick your dirty digits in there!
I've never heard of the "Kneading" part requiring replacement. They have 2 & 3 year warranty, some 5 year and 1 year over the counter replacement. My Bread M is listed at 520 watts. Microwave 1500, toaster oven 1200, small hair dryer 1800. Bread maker motor runs for 30 min (¼ time bursts first 10 min) cooks for 50 min. Smallest area to heat. Rest of the time it's rising. 3hrs later I have the freshest possible, 2lb loaf of preservative free bread. Normal cost between $3 to $4 at the supermarket.
Excellent video.
great thanks, just got a bread machine at the church yard sale.
For bread machine, especially on overnight timer, it is good idea to separate the salt and yeast. Put salt in one corner of the pan, while yeast is usually placed in the center "pit".
LOL, ok, small advice, AT SOME POINT, THE MACHINE WILL STOP AND BEEP, THAT MOMENT IS MEANT TO REMOVE THE LITTLE MIXING THING SO YOU DON'T GET THAT ON THE BOTTOM OF THE BREAD.
You and your helper are Awesome; future baker??? How about sourdough breads in a breadmaker??
good video, i really want one
Thanks, is great explenation.....
Hi Gail, thanks for sharing this recipe I was wondering what is the model number to this bread bread maker? you can find it either on the back or bottom of that bread maker
yeahh..thanks a lot..I was about to throw away my bread maker.. Thanks so much. I wish you could make more video of different recipes..pleasseee...
great recipie
Clear explanation, cute baby... I wish you would have cut the bread to see how it looks like.
Awesome :) Thanks, and God bless :)
Thankx. Informative, interesting
I LIKE IT THANKS VERY HELPFULL
The cost of the bread maker alone cost you over a year worth of normal bread from the supermarkets. also you will likly need to change the kneeling part of the bread maker after a year. so for this to work on actually saving you a decent amount of money you will need to use the same bread maker over 5 years. (i havnt included any of the cost of fuel or mats)
WOW, I'm currently making my 1st loaf right now.
Wish you would have cut the bread on video. That's always the best part!
Her bread was a big fat failure. Bread when properly made don't look like a disgusting mess like her bread.
You aren't supposed to put the ingredients into the bread pan while the pan is in the machine, in case of spills. Put all ingredients in first, then insert pan into machine.
It is important to put yeast last, because if the yeast touches the water it will start to activate too soon! :)
nicest video I ever wach.
How do people keep the bread fresh?
what do they put it in to keep it from drying out?
plastic wrap? old bread wrappers? large zip bags?
(don't want to have to eat it all in one day)
I don't take risks with kitchen and burn outs to a grilled home after some foreman shows up to douse the house from flames... it happens with the odd ones... do you want to be in that classification??? Don't leave yr home then ...AT ALL!
About the paddle, remove it at the last remaining 1,20 ins. Just open the lid, after cleaning yr hands with detergent/soap/gel and simply go below and lift up the paddle from the center pin. Close the lid...Voila.
We usually need 3euros from 3 small breads from shop.
If we use Breadmaker is: 1kg flour= 0,50cent, salt etc 0,10e, electricity 1200W in total so 0,10e, total 0,70E! Within a month we save 69euros..As for the machine 2months are enough to take your money back
some use delay timers, so if it got premixed, it wouldnt rise once the machine actully started mixing
@didijustdothat1 well. i did the conversion and the British price for bread is a bit cheaper than the American average of about 1.40. She said 0.60 cents not pence. If you bought a used machine, say for 5-10 pounds, it would probably be cheaper in the long term. However I can't factor electricity, because I don't know how much it costs in the UK.
If u use regular flour is it the all purpose or self rising kind?
not supposed to add salt near the yeast add it to water same with the sugar sugar wont kill the yeast but feed it. i think she used to much yeast shouldnt need more than 2 tsp
Absolutely right. This is how I do it since I make white and wheat bread where it isn't covered up be a bunch of other ingredients. When the water is poured in pan first and then sugar and yeast to set for about 10 minutes or less the bread don't taste yeasty.
Can you take that paddle out after the first process (knreading?)... so there is no indentation?? Someone said that in a comment for another breadmachine video but i didn't know if that was true (I'm thinking about getting a breadmachine)
Tell me what you discovered after the bread is baked... I'm in the Netherlands. I just bought my Panasonic SD-255 and still enjoys my Breadman Pro which has a unique jaccuzzi built-inside... heheh...yeah, its awesome with puffs and/or steam buns!!!
does anyone know if you can use active dry yeast or do i need one that says bread machine yeast? i just got a bread machine and i am trying to get the ingredients right
dont add anything until you make sure the yeast is active by adding the water and sugar first.
Do you have any tips for slicing homemade bread? Mine always end up uneven and crumble, ruining the whole point.
awesome. there's a breadmaker in my kitchen and i never knew how to use it. hopefully it'll turn out to be...edible...yes. hahaha
is bread flour same as all purpose flour?
i have been trying to find a Manuel for my swan bread maker and cant find it any where
can you guesstimate how much electricity it uses?
yes, great video, thank you ...gorgeous baby, too!
Thanks for this vid, well Im gonna buy one to cut down on the salt and sugar I eat
also water? not milk?
mine beeps after its kneeing the dough, then i took out the blade like a video on here suggested. then nothing happen, but the timer still going. i didn't feel any heat from the maker and its one hour and 30 mins left. Shouldn't it be baking now
I was going to start taking my paddle out before the first rise. But on my Oster I decided not to take out the paddle because the dough is punched down after around 35 or 40 minutes of rise. And this process happens so fast it is impossible for me to know when it is punched down unless I'm standing right over it watching its every move which I'm not going to do. If your bread machine has this feature then don't take your paddle out. Even when you make your bread by hand you have to punch down the dough after the first rise. It takes a while for bread to rise a couple of times before the baking starts which should be anywhere from 50 minutes to an hour. I know this is a very old post but hopefully you now understand how a bread machine works.
@@100PercentOS2 Do you think I could use Dark brown sugar instead of white sugar? tks Nicky
Oh, and does 60 cents a loaf account for the electricity used, all raw ingredients and the initial cost of buying the bread maker over what period of time?
Does that count the electricity used to make the bread?
Good video. If your bread maker doesn't ave a manual, most companies have their manuals available for download off their website.
is it 4 gluten free use
What is the name of this bread maker?
BE CAREFUL. Bread machines break after a few months of regular usage if the mechanical solution for transmitting force from the engine to the vat relies on two tabs made from bended plate that are stressed from both sides. A solution comparable to Uri Geller's spoons. I've got a broken Backmeister 8625.
what about the spent electric power :p did you calculate that?
@orangebeetlejuice Ah Well I see! I don't live in the USA, we have boot sales here - but I never go to them lol so I do not have the experience of boot/garage sales lol x
What's the tip?
price pleas
you make it look so easy- I bought a machine from thrift shop its a well billt -
It came with a manual - I followed instructions exactly but my bread will not rise. I tried adding more yeast and more sugar - numerous different ways all together 6 times but each time I got the same result... small load not properly risen
What am I doing wrong?
This is an old comment, I'm sure you've figured it out by now, so I'm answering for a newcomer who may be wondering the same thing... The yeast is probably old/dead. Try new yeast. Most people with breadmachines like the instant yeast best. Otherwise if you use regular yeast you have to proof it with warm water and a bit of sugar before you add it to your machine. Get a container of yeast and keep it in the fridge. Those little packets of yeast are usually dead because of age or heat.
