Boat looks great. I love the dark aesthetic. Also you can just put a white piece of paper behind the glass of the wooden frame and you can write on the glass for your “whiteboard”.

That green on your copper fittings is called verdigris. It is a toxic substance that forms when copper oxidises.
Can cause irritation to skin and eyes, nausea and anemia if ingested. Can cause organ damage after long or repeated exposure.

Was looking for this comment, they say it so casually “is it poisonous”. Technically yes and with Lenny’s issues I’d be careful.

    • @multitablez7825
      @multitablez7825 4 месяца назад +6

it's not toxic. it may give a bit of extra copper in their water supply, but its not harmful in anyway.

@@multitablez7825 Except it is. Copper(II)-acetate/ Verdigris/ Greenspan. Copper itself is not the issue

It's actually not though, a 2-minute check on wiki says that the pigment "verdigris" and the greenish color that forms when cooper oxydizes are not the same thing. Only the pigment is toxic.

Great video! I have some advice that can pay dividends in the future. I see that you have inflatable life straps on the boys and that is cool. My advice is that in a safe environment, like at the beach, have them jump overboard and try them. Yes, you need to replace the CO2 cartridge's after but it gives the boys a sense of how they work, how it's like to swim with them inflated, and how everything will be fine when they inflate. I spend alot of time in canoes. When my two boys were quite young we took them out in the canoe and, in about 10 feet of water, practiced flipping the canoe. They had a blast, learned the canoe wont actually sink, and could experience what it was like to have a canoe flip on them. Safe practice leads to less panic during a real emergency.

Also can't wait to see you sailing along stunning coastlines again, it seems like forever since those kinds of episodes, I reckon a lot of us will feel that breath of fresh air slap us in the face through the screen. I love the time warp snap! The irony is hysterical! Your new home is gorgeous, a little more busy than I expected for Riley’s minimalist nature. The copper accents and trims can become toxic as the patina grows. Verdigras is the term that refers to this evolution, and some of the toxins that can result from it. Wishing your family all the best, and looking forward to seeing your adventures!

Such an incredibly beautiful boat- just when I get done drooling over the outside, I go inside and lose my mind over the interior. Truly blown away with the colors, the furnishings, the materials.... Just top notch choices all the way. The inside feels like a home, which is perfect. And yet is a fully modern carbon fiber boat with all the best equipment and technology. Just astonishing. Enjoy!

About the induction kichen - The thing about inuction noise is that it does not come from the stove istelf. The Pot is what makes the noise. The better conductivity of the pot (less energy los during transfer from the stove to the pot) The les noise the pot will make and will be more efficient. In homes people usually dont care that much about efficiency but in your case you could probably save a little power buy buying the best possible pots for the stove.

I’m so incredibly excited to have you guys taking us on new adventures in your gorgeous home. I have been severely missing seeing Elayna diving, Lenny swimming in the deep blue, and Riley fishing and spearing. I’m so excited to see how Darwin begins to explore alongside you all. I was wondering during this tour if we would go over the outer hulls (I’m not sure if that’s what they’re called, I’m not a boat person, I’m just here for the adventure especially while parenting) but as I know you guys usually have crew plus a nanny on board I was curious if the plan was still having those mini bedrooms for extra guests and crew. Nonetheless, I am so in love with all of the features of the boat and while it was exciting being brought along for the build I am STOKED for the adventures you all will get up to now being finally home.

Gorgeous boat! I know you co-sleep with the boys at the moment while theyre young and wouldnt be able to get themselves out of an emergency but whats the plan for when theyre bigger and need their own space? Modify the guest cabin to a twin rather than a double?

Think they will sell when boys are older and maybe retire from RUclips - boat is not made for a family.

    I absolutely love the boat.
Just to let you know that the greening on the copper ( copper oxide ) is dangerous when ingested as it is TOXIC.
It's just something to keep in mind as you live with this amazing boat.
Keep up with the great videos

Is that only the green stuff or will it be inside the pipes as well? I mean copper pipes are common so is it an issue?

I can imagine that when you’re out at sea for long periods, with the landscape looking the same for days on end - having a detailed interior like that would feel grounding and be more interesting to look at. As someone with eyes as light as Riley’s, I know that light sensitivity can become an issue too and it’s always such a relief to get under some shade or have a bit or darkness to relax your eyes.

I LOVE al the different colors and wallpapers that add texture to your floating home. Unlike any other floating home out there. You truly made it reflect your wanting to be out in the elements. So peaceful, as if you are wrapped in nature.🥰

Darwin is so cute "hello," waving to a nearby passing boat 😂
Reminds me when I used to walk through Newtown with my 2 yr old grandson, and he used to look up and say hi to anyone who walked past us in the opposite direction ❤
Sometimes, they would say hi, but most people just ignored him 😮🤔

Guys, thanks for the tour! Riley, your last comment at the end of the video... sailing faster than wind speed. My eyes got all watery. The holy grail. I'm also stoked to hear that the boat is so comfortable in strong winds with the auto pilot. Have a safe and fantastic 2024.
