    Great tutorial! This is not an Irish song but I want to request Ben Howard - Promise. It's my favorite song and I would love to learn it on harmonica! Keep doing these videos and greetings from Sweden!

    Just picked up the harmonica a couple of weeks ago. Your lessons have been a huge help. Could you do "Time to Believe in" by the Deslondes? It's an awesome Bluegrass song i heard a few days ago.

    the "real" version is by Thin Lizzy. That's what I got some of my first harmonica chops doing.

      The real version is unknown as it goes back aways. Dubliners got there before Lizzy. Although i like both versions.

    Great video. You're spoiling us this week Liam!
    I have a quick question. When playing a string of repeated notes (6 6 6 6 in the first line, for example) you say we shouldn't blow (or draw) multiple breathes, but instead enunciate one breath multiple times, which makes a lot of sense.
    But I'm using this song to practice tongue blocking, and I'm finding it really difficult to go "ta ta ta" when my tongue is in the way! Is there a trick to doing it while tongue blocked, or is it something you just sort of get used to?

    • @Learntheharmonica
      @Learntheharmonica  6 лет назад

      Thanks! You do just get used to it, it's never quite as percussive as when tongue blocked though. You might find "huh" easier than "tuh" with a tongue block.

    hi..thanks for the videos they are great...i have special 20 (key of C)..i have been using it for few months..but today i saw Hohner big river pro pack (keys of a,g,c) with huge discount...should i buy it? are they good for pro players? (i'm not a pro player but we are talking about long term goal :D ) thanks and sorry for bad english :D

    • @Learntheharmonica
      @Learntheharmonica  6 лет назад

      Hi Ali, thanks for commenting. I prefer a Special 20 to a Big River but it's really down to personal preference. I wouldn't say Big River are any more "Pro" than Special 20 though. Working buying a Big River and seeing if you like it. Cheers. Liam

    Hi can I ask You for favor? I am blind and I find that yours harmonica tabs are great for learning melodica. Can you put in description a transcription of yours tabs in to letters, for example: C C E etc.

    Hi I am a new harmonica player and been playing for a couple months. My notes when I blow are now very clean and I am happy with them, but whenever I draw a note it sounds breathy, restricted, and sometimes doesn't even work. I try and use the same mouth position so I dont think thats my issue. I am assuming it is my breathing but I dont know how to fix it. I have seen multiple videos where they tell you to "breath" into the harmonica instead of sucking and blowing, but I cant get sound by just breathing. Any suggestions??

    • @Learntheharmonica
      @Learntheharmonica  6 лет назад

      Hi Aidan, it's hard to solve without actually giving you a private lesson but I have three videos that might help. The first is my own version of the "breathing not blowing" thing but you never know there might be something in there which helps: ruclips.net/video/dEI1bmmPGbQ/видео.html.
      The second is a lesson on playing the high notes, but the technique applies to draw notes: ruclips.net/video/SqV4V8DbeqY/видео.html.
      The final video is about playing a clean 2 draw, and the tips should help you relax and get a better sound: ruclips.net/video/B9ro0V-jnH0/видео.html
      I hope one or all of these help!
      Cheers,
      Liam
