Honestly, the Ace Attorney fandom is one of the best fandoms I know. There's a lot of ships but ship wars are rare, and I never saw any really bad fights over Apollo Justice even though it's a controversial game.
Because it's a really "love it or hate it" game. I personally enjoyed it a lot, but some people didn't like the new characters and found the cases to be weaker and forgetable. But I never saw anyone arguing about it.
Apollo Justice garnered some skepticism but that's it, nothing controversial. It was the entry title for some people that fell head over heels with it. For the rest, it's a jarring change of the main protagonist. All of the fans gave it a chance though, and in the end no one truly hates it. The characters are as quirky as the original trilogy, the musics are good, interesting cases, and they even have a timeskip version for fans favorite Ema Skye. The only major complaint is that it doesn't build off any of the old protagonist Phoenix and Maya, and that the way Phoenix ends up where he was at the beginning of the game is nonsense.
Okay, I'm gonna be honest. Ace Attorney did inspire me and my best friend to become Lawyers/Prosecutors. We've dead ass devoted ourselves to achieving those statuses too. It's childish but we one day hope to get the same case and have to go head to head. We have a love-hate relationship and always debate about who would make the better lawyer/prosecutor. But this video was hella accurate high key. Don't know how I ended up on the Ace Attorney side of RUclips when I was just watching Fire Emblem bullshit but I approve. You have my like human.

my dream is for Shu Takumi to come back for one last game, make it however many cases long, bring all the fan favourite characters back in some form and just have a nice happy ending but we know that will never happennnn D:

Sort of. Basically there are 16 students who are trapped in a place where a killing game starts. Every time a student dies they have an investigation and go to trial. Your goal is to find out who the killer is, and when you do they get executed. That's the basic plot. I would give more details, but this is a really spoiler-heavy game.

And then they'd be flooded by even more demands to finaly localize the games (which they totally SHOULD do anyway), so i doubt it's going to happen. And the only reason why Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney got an remake, is because Apollo got popular over the years. The situation right now is really stupid but sadly we can't change it.

I literally have not played an Ace Attorney game, I just liked the anime. The animation wasn't the best, but the cases themselves and the airbending was really great to watch.
as a wrightworth shipper, in my defense, i'm a foolish fool who for some reason has never been able to interpret the unnecessary feelings line in any other way except for romantic, however gumworth is a close second for me because gumshoe cares so much for edgeworth and it's amazing, honestly despite the fact that a lot of wrightworth shippers hate any other ships that include miles or phoenix, the only ones i have problems with are narumayo (1: i've only ever been able to see them as siblings for some reason, 2: they have a 7-year age gap and maya was 17 and nick was 24 when they first met so it's just.. uncomfy for me), manfred x either of them (yes i've seen both manfred x miles and manfred x phoenix and honestly i nearly cried), and franziska x miles (even though they're not biologically related they've only ever known eachother as siblings therefore i shall strike the ship with the uncomfy verdict, also the same 7-year age gap problem that i have with narumayo, minus the 17/24 thing since they knew eachother when they were both minors) i'd speak on that one other popular ship with phoenix (i think her name is iris??) but i only just finished the engarde case in the anime and am on day two of turnabout goodbyes in the games so i hardly know who iris (i'm just going with iris as her name unless somebody corrects me then i'll edit it) is except for the few spoilers i've accidentally found, also i'm sorry for this block of text when i edited the comment to add stuff in for some reason it removed the read more button
Oh for Phoenix and Iris, I don't mind the ship because it was canon for a while BUT there's a lot of toxicity that needs to be sorted out before they could be an actual couple. a bunch of people mentioned them im sure but alot of memes came from the Phoenix Wrong series. There was also that fanmade MLP-Crossover Turnabout Storm that rocked RUclips for a while as well.
Believe it or not, I was first exposed to PW thanks to "Turnabout Storm", a fanmade case you can find right here on RUclips. It's really good and works as a decent introduction to the franchise (they explain the mechanics like the locks for example). And it's fully voice-acted if I remember well! Did I mention it's a crossover with My Little Pony? Yeah, weird idea, but that somehow works-out pretty well: they made a case complex enough by using some of MLP's world specificities as interesting plot points. I guess the crossover part sounds like a massive turndown for PW fans, but fear not: there isn't anything overly cutesy, pink or anything and you don't need any prior knowledge of cartoon horses to understand everything. Have a good watch!
I'm more surprised by the rarity of people talking about Juniper Woods. Well that may be because I watch let's plays of the games through NicoB, but I rarely hear talk about her, which is kinda sad when she looks like she gets shipped with Apollo in the games pretty easily.
From what I hear Junie tends to be shipped with Athena more, leaving Apollo free for whoever they want to pair him with (usually Klavier). Robin and Vera make a cute rarepair though!

Im pretty sure the Anime will just skip Apollo's game and go straight to Dual Destinies, because that's how Capcom has treated Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney this past few years.
There will also be no mentioning of DGS, The Crossover and, of course, no mentioning of the Investigation-Titles and thus of best girl Kay Faraday whatsoever. Yes i am SO HYPED for the Anime. -_-

It'd be the same for me. But doing that would mean that Capcom has to acknowledge, that these games exist/ are canon. And then they'd be flooded by even more demands to finaly localize the games (which they totally SHOULD do anyway), so i doubt it's going to happen. And the only reason why Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney got an remake, is because Apollo got popular over the years. The situation right now is really stupid but sadly we can't change it.

So far there are two DGS games set in the time of Phoenix's predecessor, Ryunosuke Naruhodou, way back when in the Victorian/Meiji period. It's not localised, and only DGS 1 has a fan translation to my knowledge (but not dubbing, etc. like Ace Attorney Investigations 2).

Basically there is this franchise that Capcom created called "Devil May Cry", and it's main protagonist is a demon hunter called Dante, he is a cool character and he was the main protag in Devil May Cry 1, 2 and 3 in other words, a trilogy, seems familiar doesn' it, now the fourth game in the series was made, and then **bam** new protagonist called Nero, but wait a sec, Dante is also in it too, now guess what happens next, exactly just like how Phoenix stealed the spotlight of Apollo in AA4, Dante did the same thing to Nero in Devil May Cry 4, also AA4 was made nearly 1 year before Devil May Cry 4, what do you think about this? Its 2020. Now that im stuck in quarantine, I looked for things that I loved in the past. And I found Ace Attorney once more. I will still be a fan of this game and anime. My quarantine is less boring now that I've also found my old phone and tablet with the games still on it. I want us ace attorney fans to reunite and -beg- demand another game because capcom has been on a good game streak lately. SO PUT OUT SOME MORE NARUMITSU FOR US CAPCOM. Bro, have you played "Contempt of Court" ? That fangame is probably the best Ace Attorney game to date and it's not even made by Capcom. That game's final case when everything comes together had me in pieces.

Apollo Justice was actually the first Ace Attorney game I have played. I learned about the previous ones later.
I swear the ace attorney Fanbase will literally come out of the wood works once every year for the same fucking meme. It's great.
I literally have not played an Ace Attorney game, I just liked the anime. The animation wasn't the best, but the cases themselves and the airbending was really great to watch.

as a wrightworth shipper, in my defense, i'm a foolish fool who for some reason has never been able to interpret the unnecessary feelings line in any other way except for romantic, however gumworth is a close second for me because gumshoe cares so much for edgeworth and it's amazing, honestly despite the fact that a lot of wrightworth shippers hate any other ships that include miles or phoenix, the only ones i have problems with are narumayo (1: i've only ever been able to see them as siblings for some reason, 2: they have a 7-year age gap and maya was 17 and nick was 24 when they first met so it's just.. uncomfy for me), manfred x either of them (yes i've seen both manfred x miles and manfred x phoenix and honestly i nearly cried), and franziska x miles (even though they're not biologically related they've only ever known eachother as siblings therefore i shall strike the ship with the uncomfy verdict, also the same 7-year age gap problem that i have with narumayo, minus the 17/24 thing since they knew eachother when they were both minors) i'd speak on that one other popular ship with phoenix (i think her name is iris??) but i only just finished the engarde case in the anime and am on day two of turnabout goodbyes in the games so i hardly know who iris (i'm just going with iris as her name unless somebody corrects me then i'll edit it) is except for the few spoilers i've accidentally found, also i'm sorry for this block of text when i edited the comment to add stuff in for some reason it removed the read more button
Oh for Phoenix and Iris, I don't mind the ship because it was canon for a while BUT there's a lot of toxicity that needs to be sorted out before they could be an actual couple. Personally, I ship wrightworth cause... idk they're cute and there's lots of signs, but people should be free to ship whatever they want as long as its not, as u put it, uncomfy.

Believe it or not, I was first exposed to PW thanks to "Turnabout Storm", a fanmade case you can find right here on RUclips.
It's really good and works as a decent introduction to the franchise (they explain the mechanics like the locks for example). And it's fully voice-acted if I remember well!
Did I mention it's a crossover with My Little Pony? Yeah, weird idea, but that somehow works-out pretty well: they made a case complex enough by using some of MLP's world specificities as interesting plot points.
I guess the crossover part sounds like a massive turndown for PW fans, but fear not: there isn't anything overly cutesy, pink or anything and you don't need any prior knowledge of cartoon horses to understand everything.

I'm more surprised by the rarity of people talking about Juniper Woods. Well that may be because I watch let's plays of the games through NicoB, but I rarely hear talk about her, which is kinda sad when she looks like she gets shipped with Apollo in the games pretty easily.
From what I hear Junie tends to be shipped with Athena more, leaving Apollo free for whoever they want to pair him with (usually Klavier). Robin and Vera make a cute rarepair though!
