They have turned luxury into vulgar when they decided to use influencers to sell more. Really bad move, all they have done is expande the fakes business as they now produce dupes is huge quantities and with quality. No one wants to buy an expensive item when they know someone can get the same for a much cheaper price. Times have changed and the pre loved is here to stay and unique personal styles is the thing
Now that I know what the real deal is behind these luxury bags I’d much rather go on a fabulous vacation, invest in Property, invest in bitcoin, gold silver, anything, but that stuff that is marketed to us and we waste our money on these items like fools.
I feel that the harder something is pushed on me, the less likely I am to buy it just to spite the marketing team. I have never walked out with anything from a luxury store because everything seems so pretentious and ungenuine. Give me a custom anything, over a Chanel. Now that's real luxury.
The only designer brands I like can easily be duplicated or replicated for a fraction of the cost. Are we going for our own unique personal style employing various pieces we enjoy or are we trying to attain some false sense of status or identity through friggin' clothes?
My aunt gave me so-called luxury bags on my birthdays, etc. I found them pretentious and frankly they are not all that cracked up to be. Eventually I sold them - don't tell my aunt, LOL. Frankly I would rather have money for other things like food, vacation, etc. than some over-priced bags. After all, they are just that - bags.
people buy luxury (also) because they need to belong to certain groups. it's of the human nature not wanting to be ostracized. and belonging to a certain group might give you fundamental status in our society. furthermore, being in a group makes you privy to and recipient of whatever that group has to offer: money, info, power, a good reservation at a restaurant...
piercenigel4670: I agree with your point of view. That’s exactly it. People want to belong to certain groups and if that means buying that $5,000 plus bag, or what ever is luxury for them, then so be it. The wanting to belong is strong.
Thank you for discussing this topic. I just wanted to add, I was watching RUclipsr Tanner Leathersteins videos about luxury brands and he proved that Louis Vuttion spends a lot of their budget on marketing and advertising. Shocking, I know. They are trying really hard to sell the consumer these products that one has to prove they made it in society.
He sells his own bags. I would implore people to do their own unbiased research of leather goods rather than taking an influencers word 100%. He’s monetizing his platform to sell his own leather products.
If the struggling poor and middle class are purchasing these luxury handbags, then to answer your question …. Yes, people are trying to make themselves feel better. 😊
I find luxury brands interesting, because I design clothes myself. I look to them for inspiration and to see what the current zeitgeist is. Luxury brands offer people something they want, a lifestyle not clothes. Unfortunately it affects the quality of the products, as quality is not defining something as luxury anymore. and I honestly can’t take a brand seriously that sells a plastic tube top for 1000$. And by now I’m very tired of the whole who buys which, old money new money stuff because I believe people will buy what they like, some show it off some don’t and everything beyond is just clever marketing.
I would never buy a LV because I hate the look of their bags. Chanel bags look like a grandma’s hand bag. I hate chains straps on bags. I think I would buy a Celine bag or YSL they are more my style
@@pradagirl777 I am not buying a hand bag for an investment. I buy because I love the bag and use it a lot. Not just sitting on a shelf to look pretty.
The most expensive luxury bags like the Birkin is a middle class cosplay of the upper class elites without the real estate, the trust fund, and the power that go with it. Watch the House of Elliott, a British TV series about a couple of upper middle class sisters who go from seamstress to couture house and the way they interact with their clientele - now that is true luxury. FOMO is for the middle class, the wealthy upper class have bespoke one of a kind if they want, or the pedestrian off the rack if they are in a hurry, sometimes they entertain themselves by cosplaying as one of the masses, remember Marie Antoinette playing a shepherdess, boredom affects all classes.
Spot on ! When I see all those influencers getting gifts from them and sitting in the front row that’s when I feel, nope, not luxury anymore…. All the original designers founders of these fashion houses must be turning in their graves seeing what is being done in their names
Brands be advertising their bags with models wearing couture clothes, and we see people who bought these bags on the street, not even bothered to brush their hair befor leaving their houses. Ruined the look of the bags.
In terms of price, HQDUPE is very reasonable and has extremely high cost performance. You don't need to spend a high price to own a fashionable and high-quality LV bag.
It’s the resale value, because while most clothes and bags etc….are pretty much worthless after use, so called luxury brands can still command a high price. I would only splurge-invest on selected chronometers aka mechanical watches……Nowadays I think it’s a waste on money for handbags…..Also if the likes of “Diddy” represents these luxe brands, then no thanks.
Years ago I went into Prada and saw a bag with faulty sewing, walked into another brand, such poor quality bag! Stopped longing for big brands since then😂 Better put my hard earned $ into more worthwhile experiences or investments
HI! Always love your videos. You have a great way about you and a very nice voice! When you buy luxury you're making someone rich and yourself poor. The bags are virtually worthless and yet people line up and go into deep debt to buy them. Some even consider it a "Journey" to get offered a bag from certain companies. It is so incredibly childish and pathetic. Why not invest in the real estate market or Gold if you feel the need! Otherwise be generous to others and the planet. Go on a vacation and pick up trash or make a difference in a child's life. It's so sad how some people are so shallow that having a designer bag makes them someone. The luxury companies make us poor and themselves rich. LVMH CEO is a billionaire! All from bags made from dead cows and exotic animals who don't deserve to die. Get a life you people!
Nowadays, real luxury is health, time and to be around loved ones. People just realize this when they haven't it anymore.

Tempted to travel to Spain to design and make my own luxury bag
Yeah I'm tired of hearing them .

These brands bore me now. Luxury fatigue.
LUXURY OVEREXPOSED
These brands have the highest-paid tacky designers 😂

YOU ARE buying the name NOT THE QUALITY

Celine bag is basic and YSL resale value falls to the floor the minute you walk out of the store with it. My opinion.
@@pradagirl777if you buy a bag for resale value you can’t afford it. Celine basic? Have you seen the Conti or Abbey bag? Far from basic.
@kim, thank you for saying this out loud. Chanel bags look like that to me as well! They push 20 year olds in their ads but that’s not enough.
@@pradagirl777 I am not buying a hand bag for an investment. I buy because I love the bag and use it a lot. Not just sitting on a shelf to look pretty.
A collection in excess of 5 bags is too much. Currently selling most of my bags. Sticking to 3-4 brands only

The look-at-me syndrome of an adolescent
I love your content! Pro tip tho.. don’t say SA as a noun on RUclips. It has a totally different meaning on this platform 😂

It was not like that... Social media destroyed everything 😢 i wanna sell most of my things and just keep some going forward
RUclipsrs and influencer s have ruined "luxury brands".
So tired
They should pay everyone to wear, if we can buy foods to eat
Tbh the only way to buy luxury is second hand!
5:06 no i don't, they've failed 🙀
If you don’t like luxury items don’t buy or make a video about it👎🏼
And you don't have to watch it.
