Knees do not wear out evenly. Many patients have been told they need a total knee replacement, but if the cartilage damage is limited to just one or two parts of the knee, we have had tremendous success resurfacing only the worn-out portion of the joint (either the inside, outside, or kneecap) leaving the rest of the joint alone.
For unparalleled accuracy in placement, we use the MAKO Surgical Corp Robotic-Arm Interactive Orthopaedic System. The MAKO robot is the most sophisticated joint replacement system in the world. The system robotically guides the surgeon to precisely replace the joint, resulting in better alignment and reducing the risk of early wear.

Just had partial knee 10 days ago. Walking without cane except to do stairs. One day of horrific pain. Off pain meds after about four days. Therapy is everything.
Glad to hear, Steve. Agreed. Rehab is such crucial, crucial part of recovery to help ease pain and build back strength. Best of luck to you in the rest of your recovery. Please let us know if we can be of any help.
Wow. But his results are not typical I'm sure
How long does a HTO last for , thanks
Bad deal. I busted l knee skiing then broke same. Hate object I'mplant
You almost spelled some words correctly.
Rubbish. It must help to be fit b4 The Op. but the Pain is so intense first two/ Three days yes im a week in and improvement is Noticeable but first Few Days has to be rest first
Hi, David. It does help to be fit before surgery. We often assist patients with "prehab." However, we start all our patients' recovery on Day 1 after surgery (most of the exercise is light and focused on strengthening the rest of the body other than the surgical leg). It may be different than your experience, but it's certainly true.
