Beautiful POKEMON Blue Livery on ANA 747-400D JA8956

ALL NIPPON AIRWAYS has painted several aircraft in Pokeman livery. Two Boeing 747-400Ds were painted one in the Blue livery, the other in a Yellow livery. We will be posting a video on the yellow one later.

Specially painted aircraft make aviation even more interesting than it is and this is one of those really cool liveries that was only seen in Japan as its a 400 Domestic aircraft. The fact that its a 747 and the snow make this I believe our best video of the week which I tend to keep for Sundays ;)

That 747 look like the 747-8i when you look at the upper deck window at the left side of the plane, and there is no winglets on both wings. So this is the only 747-400 with no winglets. Except the 747-400 General Electric and 747-400 Dreamlifter.

Its a 747 400D domestic variant made specifically for Japan to be used on high density routes. Could seat upto 600 people in a single configuration. It would make no sense to add winglet for this plane as it operated short routes and the winglets would have been pointless and rather only would add extra weight, so these were made without winglets. Only 19 747 400D's were made with all being delivered to ANA and JAL. They have all been retired by 2014 sadly.
