My New Year’s resolution is to finish up incomplete projects. Millipede is the first. I remove the old torn up CPO and replace it with a brand new one from Arcadeshop. While I’m at it, I show you how to break in the bearings using a Dremel. The difference is night and day on how it responds in gameplay!

Missed this episode. Didn't show on my feed. Saw the thumbnail about a week ago but didn't play it at the time. Then I couldn't find it until I visited the channel today.
Glad you found it! :-)
Hey there - your channel is great! If anyone is out there reading Atari’s manual it advises using 3 in 1 oil as regular Trak-Ball maintenance... don’t as its junk and turns the bearings into a gummy mess. I’ve had great success with a lubricant called Liquid Bearings and did a similar rebuild with new ball, bearings and rollers from Arcadshop - I cleaned the bearings in acetone overnight and then applied a small amount of Liquid Bearings and its like night and day.
I will check that out. Thanks! But did you need to take each bearing apart to do that? They look sealed.
@@delsarcade Didn't take them apart, I just let them soak for a day and then applied some Liquid Bearings.
I've already ordered the stuff. I will try it on my Crystal Castles bearings. But I think I will soak them with Brake cleaner instead. Works faster.
@@delsarcade Yep that should work, just was going with a less cancer causing option (according to the state of California). I've used it in many of places with great results like bearings / bushings on driving games and vibration motors. It a good hobby grade lubricant that doesn't leave the smell and tackiness behind like 3 in 1.
Perfect timing, thanks!
Glad you found it useful!
At summer camp I can show you an expert method to freshen your carriage bolts without paint.
Remind me who this is?
When did you replace the marquee overlay? Did you upload a vid of you doing it? I’m not seeing it in your your Millipede Restoration playlist and would love to see your technique. Also, where did you purchase the marquee overlay? I recently replaced mine and had trouble finding a supplier. The one I purchased was cut 1/4” too short and the colors are under saturated. I’m looking to replace it because I’m not happy how it turned out.
Actually, I didn't. I meant to say that I replaced the innards of the marquee (light fixture). I will show it in more detail in a future vid: But my marquee was cut along the bottom and painted black by the previous owner. It looks decent and they tend to crack so I'm leaving it as is.
@@delsarcade I see... well I can tell you from experience that this style marquee overlay can be pretty tough to remove all the glue without damaging the wood. I had to use wood filler and also shim the glass so that the imperfections would not show through the artwork. I’m pretty sure Atari used a thicker laminate than what my supplier printed on. As a result, the artwork is less ridged and probably won’t crack as easily. Unfortunately, due to it being thinner material, it’s not very forgiving when it is applied over grainy wood. Oh yeah, aligning over the glass was not fun either. I do think it would make for a good video if you were up to it.
I'm in no rush,. Buddy of mine just did his. I warned him about the glass. I had him measure it when he put it to the side. Lol and behold... Smash!
