Thank you so much for this tutorial! Like you said, it is a good idea to practice taking it out and putting it back in with your old bulb. In doing that I discovered a way that was a bit easier for me. To remove the old lamp I grasped the igniter and twisted it and take it off the bulb. Then removed the thin wire clamps (what you call a bungie) and then I removed the bulb. Then just reverse the order to put it back in. For some reason I was having a hard time putting the bulb into the igniter and twisting while holding them both like you did in the video. With the bulb already in the headlight and secured with the thin wire clamps it was easier to then take the igniter and twist it on to the bulb. Thanks again! I have a 2004 Acura TSX that is now over 20 years old with 285,000 miles on it. I used a PHILIPS D2S I bought from Amazon.
This was very helpful! It took me a while but it got done! The spring clips were the hardest to thing to latch. There’s no room to see what you’re doing. Most of it was done by feel and taking photos.
I just wanted to thank you for your video and instructions. I got it apart and then got stuck. Putting the "bungee" clip into the bulb slot did the trick. Again, thanks. The other problem I had was the bulb was very tight and hard to remove. The new bulb was really hard to twist in.
Ryan, Thanks! The only problem is You Do Not want to touch the bulb with skin (fingers, arm, hand, etc) The oil from your skin will transfer and reduce your bulb life as these are high temp halogen type bulbs. Same goes for home lighting
Hi Ryan, Thanks for this video! I have replaced last night but the burnt out low beam headlight was on the left for me and it is more difficult to do since there is not much room on the left.
I have a question. What’s the little white Silver wire that is on the silver peace, I replaced mine but that little cable is flyer without being connected, is it ground cable or something.
Next time I'm taking off my air filter housing. It was too tight😂 I was gonna replace the passenger side too but it still works so, don't fix it if ain't broke
Thanks for the video, gave me something to work with. My wires were short so both sides were hell to remove. Looked at it with flashlight then had to do it by feel only. Accessed rght side thru wheel well, left side via wheel well and removing battery area just to get any level of access.
Where am I able to buy the light bulbs? What kind are they? I have a 2005 tsx . I went to a mechanic and they tried to convince me I had to replace my entire headlight lol. But my high-beams work just fine .
You can just go onto Amazon. Just type in low beam headlight bulb Acura 2005 tsx. I got the: "Mega Racer D2S D2C D2R Xenon HID 6000K White Light Low Beam Headlight Car Lamp Bulb Bright Replacement 66040 85122 USA". They work great and they are only $16. If you go to NAPA they will say 1 bulb cost $70. So just go onto amazon. On your bulb it will have numbers that you can type in, or just compare and see if it looks like the same one. Hope that helps.
@@ryancox4280 That's interesting that you found em for $16. I worked for Advance Auto Parts and our store's cost on them was $48 and retail was about $100. Wonder how you can get them for so cheap. HID's are generally expensive as hell. Also I'm kinda mad your bulb went in super easy with the bungee things. I couldn't figure out how to get my bungees back around my bulb it took me stupid long and with help to get them in there.
I went to a couple auto stores looking for the right bulb, and they were all that or more expensive. I decided to go online and look them up, and talk to my dad who also has a newer Acura. I have had practice at replacing the headlights, so that's probably why I got it in easier. The dip that is made when you put the bulb in between the plug-in is were the bungees go.
Ryan Cox do the bulbs you bought shine white or are they yellowy? My right side headlight bulb went out and I’m not sure if I should buy both or just the single because I don’t want the lights to mismatch. What do you think?
The bulbs I bought shine white. If you just buy one they will shine at different brightness. You won't notice a whole lot because you'll be in the car. If I had only one go out, I would buy 2 and replace both of them, and keep the working one as a spare.
The HID bulb he keeps calling low beam actually has dual function as high beam AND low beam. The small cap directly over the bulb is actually a solenoid type thing that changes voltage to the bulb. as the bulb is not a dual filament. The bulbs on the interior are actually considered fog lights, even though not in the more common lower bumper area. These are typical halogen, and not HID. The special hex screw covering the bulb and solenoid is a security torx w/ a small center pin preventing normal torx bit use. I believe it size 3, and can be purchased at a parts store
I might add that you should not touch the bulb with bare hand, oils from your skin can damage it, wear gloves or at least use paper towel to hold bulb😅

Had to watch how to attach the bungee clip like 5 times. Hard to do almost blind. Managed to replace the passenger side lamp tonight. Thank you!
That's got to be one of the best diy videos I've seen. Thanks!
I don’t understand why everyone don’t do it this way. It’s a lot more simple and less of a hassle

Latex gloves
I was gonna say the same thing
The oil from fingers will heat up and crack the bulb when it heats up in use
Very clear & easy to see instruction. Thanks for sharing!
One of the many reasons I miss my old integra. It was so easy to change headlight bulbs on that car!
Hi Ryan,
Thanks for this video! I have replaced last night but the burnt out low beam headlight was on the left for me and it is more difficult to do since there is not much room on the left.
Thanks for this. I dont know anything about cars but my 2007 tsx driver side low beam just shut down. This will help me a lot. Thank you.
How to u get the little screw off man
I have a question. What’s the little white Silver wire that is on the silver peace, I replaced mine but that little cable is flyer without being connected, is it ground cable or something.
Best vid I’ve seen on this one yet.
Removing the bumper is only necessary if you're replacing the ballast and igniter

how did you guys take the little bull off?
When u remove the battery cables did u remove postive first then negative or negative and then pos

What bulbs did you get to replace the original ones?
Look on the model number of the bulb take that to your auto parts store they gave me the right one
Mine has metal framing around it. Much harder to access. I can’t even reach down in there. Help? 2010 tsx
Good video! Thanks for the help! Really detailed, only problem is fitting your hand in that little hole lol
Bungi cords? Metal clips
What tool did you use to remove the screw holding the inside bulb cover?
how did u take the bolt off holding the bulb housing
Yep, I practice at the junkyard all the time!
Hey my tsx didnt have that metal fitting on the bulb. It was a connector plug onto the low beam bulb (🔌 connections)
How can I adjust the low beams
Thanks for the vid! Those spring clips (what you called bungee) are a b*tch to manage blindly! And I somehow popped that clip out! 😢
Did you disconnect the battery first? Or is it safe to do it without removing battery?
Yes, I did disconnect the battery before I started. You don't have to disconnect it. I prefer being safe, more than sorry.
A cable disconnected on me and i do not see where it goes. Wish there was a diagram, but my owners manual has nothing
Thanks it don't get any simpler
I agree. The explanation and process is easy but man it's tight. Still less cussing at my car than taking off the bumper

Hey, do you have a link to these bulbs ? I got a 2007 tsx and my driver side just went out.! Thanks!
Did you ever find a place we can buy these bulbs cheap man my passenger just went out
@@ericslimp2726 Amazon ... there legit... the housing is such a PIA
Thanks man it was lots of help
i having so hard time latching the ignitor on the bulb its drivers side 2007
My light doesn't have the bungee hooks
Thank u sir for actually showing
You didn’t show us how it looks after installation, how bright it is?
Depends on the bulb you bought, of course
Every one says u gotta take bumper off but not necessary, my mechanic friend did it with ease
Thank you!!!!
With this work for a 2009-2014?
I don’t think so.
I tried today in a tsx 2011 and that area (driver side) is different.
I am pretty sure I will have to remove the bumper
I don't think so either
I am trying hard to make this method work but in 2009 2014 models low beams are well hidden under the metal body
karanvir singh I ended up just having to remove the bumper. Wasn’t really that time consuming. About 20 snap pins and two screws
@@JBWDC3 thanks I also changed my low beam by removing the bumper

How to disconnect the battery explain
unbolt the battery holder,10mm and loosen the battery terminals. if factory, 10 mm also. if aftermarket most likely 13mm.
Thank you... For sharing. What you know to Us. The ones that didn't know.
What is the bulb called ?
Hid d2s
@@jessess3958 where do u buy them from
Thank you
Where's the cheapest place to buy these low beam bulbs ??they fucken expensive at the auto parts store
Xenon Depot
Junk yard. Search for a AAA yard near you.
Beautiful..thank you.
Always wear gloves with lightbulbs, the oils can decrease its lifespan
I think the bumper only needs to come off of you are removing the entire housing .
Great job buddy
this doesn’t help for the left side bc there’s stuff in the way u did it on the easiest side
Lol, the other one is the harder to install
Good video!!!
Thats a cool Bungie cord
U touched the bulbs wit your grease fingers
The other side is not that simple
EXACTLY
the passenger side is the problem.
Passenger side is fucking hell! I just did
mine. I did the driver side 5 mins, passenger damn near an hour lol.
