    Amazing reaction. Kudos for picking up all the details. Well done. The candy scene was a quite subtle , but harsh criticism especially for people in Germany for still calling the candy by its old name.
    With love from Germany 😎 🤘🏻

    The cheerleaders' dance is reminiscent of the Haka dance of the New Zealand Maori, which was used to strike fear (Angst) into the enemies.

    German here. I remember my childhood, I'm almost 60 now. Back then, these sweets were still called "Negerküsse" (negro kisses). Later they were called "Mohrenköpfe" (moor heads). Today they are sold as "Schaumküsse" (foam kisses) or "Dickmanns". There was also much controversy in other countries. "Schwarzer Mann" is not necessarily to be translated literally as black man. What is meant here is more a man dressed in black, in the dark, with whom children have been threatened. In America he is probably known as the boogeyman. But Rammstein plays with the double meaning. You can see it in the refugees on the beach, and the fear ("Angst") of being overwhelmed by foreigners in the media. This video makes perfect sense.

      Stimmt. Der ,,Schwarze Mann" ist kein Dunkelhäutiger, sondern einfach nur ein Fremder, der schwarze Kleidung trägt.

      If I was a fleeing for my life from a war torn country the last thing I'd worry about is the possibility of reporters. Let's just make it to shore. Unless I was a economic migrate who's tired of slow WiFi and heard how France, Germany and others are putting us in 5 star hotels.

      ....... " On February 29, 1944 the ' British Ministry of lnformation ' sent the following note to the higher British Clergy and to the BBC. ........Sir, l am directed by the Ministry to send you the following circular letter : It is often the duty of the good citizens and of the pious Christians to turn a blind eye on the peculiarities of those associated with us. But the time comes when such peculiarities, while still denied in public, must be taken into account when action by us is called for. We know the methods of rule employed by theBolshevik dictator in Russia itself from, for example, the writings and speaches of the Prime Minister himself during the last twenty years. We know how theRedArmy behaved in Poland in 1920 and in Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Galicia, and Bessarabia only recently. We must, therefore, take into account how theRedArmy will certainly behave when it overruns Central Europe. Unless precautions are taken, the obviously inevitable horrors which will result will throw an undue stain in public opinion in this country. We cannot reform theBolsheviks but we can do our best to save them - and ourselves - from the consequences of their acts. The disclosures of the quarter of a century will render mere denials unconvincing. The only alternative to denial is to distract public attention from the whole subject. Experience has shown that the best distraction in is ' Atrocity Propaganda ' directed against the enemy. Unfortunately the public is no longer so susceptible as in the days of the " Corps Factory ", the " Mutilated Belgian Babies " and the " Crucified Canadians ". Your cooperation is therefore earnestly sought to distract public attention from the doings of theRedArmy by your wholehearted support of various charges against the Germans and Japanese which have been and will be put into circulation by the Ministry. Your expression of belief in such may convince others. I am, Sir, Your obediant servant ( Signed ) H.HEWET, Assistant secretary. The Ministry can enter into no correspondence of any kind with regard to this communication which should only be disclosed to responsible persons. " - pages 209-210, ' Allied Wartime Diplomacy ' by Edward J. Rozek.
      ☠️☠️ ......ATROCITY PROPAGANDA - " Atrocity propaganda is how we won the war. And we're only really beginning with it now ! We will continue this atrocity propaganda, we will escalate it until nobody will accept even a good word from the Germans, until all the sympathy they may still have abroad will have been destroyed and they themselves will be so confused that they will no longer know what they are doing. Once that has been achieved, once they begin to run down their own country and their own people, not reluctantly but with eagerness to please the victors, only then will our victory be complete. IT WILL NEVER BE FINAL. Re-education needs careful tending, like an English lawn. Even one moment of negligence, and the weeds crop up again - those indestructible weeds of historical TRUTH. " - SeftonDalmer (1904-1979), former British Chief of ' Black Propaganda ': Said after the German surrender in 1945 in a conversation with the German Professor of lnternation Law Dr.FriedrichGrimm. ☠️☠️☠️........ " Thanks to the terrible power of our International Banks, we have forced the Christians into wars without number. Wars have a special value forJews, since Christians massacre each other and make more room for usJews. Wars are theJews' Harvest, The Jewbanks grow fat on Christian wars. Over 100-million Christians have been swept off the face of the earth by wars, and the end is not yet." - rabbiReichorn, speaking at funeral of Grand rabbiSimeon Ben-Judah, 1869.christiansfortruth.com/post-war-u-s-occupying-forces-believed-germany-justified-in-war-and-hitler-served-his-country-constructively

    Great reaction, gyus! Loved your comments and your attention to the details 😎
    Few notes:
    - "Angst" is Fear - and they are not just fed propagada, it is fear being injected. They become unfriendly, hostile, and get tricked into wasting their own money to build little prisons for themselves
    - "Schwarze Mann" is a childs play popular in Germany, where one kid is this Schwarze Mann (the Boogeyman) and tries to chase others, who - once caught - join him and chase others. Usually the play starts when one kid asks "who is afraid of boogeyman?" and other shout "nobody!". And here we hear Till singing, that everyone IS afraid of boogeyman 🙂
    You've gone through a bunch of their videos, how about doing some live stuff? Their live productions are really interesting, and some use various props and surprising techiques. How about reacting to "Wiener Blut" from Madison Square Garden? Lots of interesting stuff to comment!
    Have a great day! 😁

      also the children in this video are foreigners which people are often afraid of. First they seclude themselves but in the end they rather imprison the foreign children to feel save even though their fear is something coming from them and unprovoked but with their actions to fight of their fear they kind of also make it seem for the others that their fear is right kind of like a self-fulfilling prophecy which in the end causes everyone to fall.

    My interpretation of the final scene during the credits is that on the one hand there are the western people watching on TV refugees trapped in misery and injustice. So they are well aware of the bad things happening in the world. On the surface they seem dismayed (hence the black and white shots), but at the same time they look at the pictures with indifference while living their lives of luxury without really enjoying it. On the other side are the refugees who see our way of life and desperately want to go there to escape all the pain they are going through. But they won't get there because we won't let them here. We'd rather smash the TV to avoid seeing all the bad stuff (hence now colored footage) that we might even be the cause of.

      As Till always says, any of their songs are about what the listener chooses to take from them. Yes, it's about xenophobia, but the American imagery used throughout, for me, leans it toward a comment on racism in the U.S.

    • @illumi4460
      @illumi4460 Год назад

      @@duncanmccann2715 the ending has nothing to do with the US tho since neither what they are eating and the refugee crisis are something related to the US. The whole song is just about fearmongering done by many conservatives that leads to people being paranoid of having to deal with different people. Big examples of that are US conservatives represented by the guns and need to build walls around themselves and European conservatives who spread fear about the "boogeyman" coming and touching you so we should close them into cages away from us and instead cling to how it always was (like for example continuing to eat Negerküsse which has been a big debate made by conservatives about why we should change something we always knew as that). The fear isnt caused by refugees. The fear is caused by the person screaming at them through their TVs (represented by Till in this video)
