Hey, thanks for the idea. I switched my kayak carrying setup to a Yaris and carrying one-piece paddles is an annoyance. I use Yakima Showdown, but same applies.
Nice video, I just recently made 2 Greenland paddles (which I'll need to learn how to use) and I purchased the Quick Fist rubber mounts hoping they will work. I was planning on doing exactly what you did in your video, but then I saw your video and was like "Wow, someone did exactly what I was thinking of doing" so this is perfect. I've got room on my Hullavator system to do the same and mounted these rubber quick-fist to them. If the paddles won't work due to being past the loom then I'll be switching to straps just as you have done. I am debating on maybe building a rack for my paddles with 4" sewer pipe and storing them inside. Less of a chance they can be stolen and protects them from bugs being splattered on them. Just don't know if I want an 8ft 4" pipe always attached to my truck roof racks. I usually remove the Hullavator when I'm not Kayaking. Good job and thanks for the visual of what mine will be like.
Which rack is that on your JL? I have a 2-door JK and while I’ve seen many options for that style of rack, I don’t believe I’ve seen that particular one. I like how low profile it is compared to other brands.
Absolutely, it’s the one from TrailFX. Def low profile by comparison, stays closer to the body throughout. And it’s not as expensive as other brands. 👍
Good tip! I'll keep that in mind for future trips
Great tip, thanks for sharing that idea.

What type of wood the grey paddle? Thanks for your videos!

How did you attach a strap? T-Nuts I assume, but what did you do to mount it. Looks like some black rubber or tube there that the strap runs through.

@@KayakHipster Thanks! I'll definitely be checking that one out. 😎👍
Can you add another one on the other side?
