the GHOST of Paul is back helping to progress on
He went forward in time like a Longolier.
Why ghost
Not everyone can explain body movements like that. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Any tips to avoid leaning forwards
Yes try to think about pushing through your hips when forwards and when backwards think about pushing through your shoulders a little more than your hips. Engaging your core is key to stopping what a call diving into pushes.
Sometimes I put a glove on my skaters heads to see if they can push without moving their head, you could try this too 👍🏼
@@iskatecoach thanks for replying. i just downloaded your app and subscribed. howevrr when i paid, i couldnt find any difference in content between free and subscription
Does backward stroke have more tips besides all these mentioned in this video? I struggle more to pick up speed while skating backward. Thanks.
Yes, well tell me more is it when crossing or when just pushing like backward strokes? I find it takes a bit of time to get comfortable with leaning in the direction of travel, your body weight should be very slightly ahead of your skates. Pre bend or “charging” as I call it is the key!
@@iskatecoach I meant at just pushing/backward strokes. I did lean too much forward instead of leading with my shoulders. I also feel awkward to lift the foot through/swing forward after the stroking. Thanks.
Yes turning the foot in to get more of your edge involved in the push will help. As will a zig zag pattern in the stroke so you can push side to side more. Balancing with the free leg forward on one foot will also help you get comfortable 👍🏼
This is the best stroking tutorial on YT
Thank you so much, check out my video on skating faster as I break it down even further!
How long have you been skating?
@@iskatecoach1 month. Thanks will also check that out. Hope you share more tips and tutorials for adult beginners
This was a really deep video.
Hope it wasn’t too deep! 😂 I try and make it easy to understand to 👍🏼
The video was really needed on the internet. I see so many skaters do the push on the standing foot and I get exactly what you mean.
