Great to share. Ticks are an issue too. We always used peroxide on chiggers. Good call on the underwear - changing more than once a day is helpful too. I’ve started using damp, cooling wraps on my head/neck. Having extra, non drinking water or wipes for the “important areas” is another idea. A fan for sleeping is a must. 👍
Good video. Thank you. I've spent most of my life just not camping in the summer, but have decided I'm gonna have to get out when I can, before my kids are grown. All good tips and some things to try.
The one thing I hated about living in Georgia was when it was nice out. The bugs were bad. The only time there weren't bugs is when it was to hot to do anything.
Ah yes. Even in TN, these issues plague us. I've gotten to always watching where we park our vehicle/set up our tent for dead limbs due to even a cool day/breeze taking out a limb and ruining a weekend and causing damage. Straight FSJ hoods are hard to come by. I carry 100% deet in a pump spray bottle for bugs. I also agree with keeping regular 'sneks' around. Having hay fields around means lots of mice/rats. The regular sneks will keep their population in check. We have that same fan! 18v/120v connections and yes, the battery will last that long. Especially with the 4ah battery. It worked great in our tent the last trip we took. Anti itch sprays always come along with us. TecNu is our choice. To the water, I'll add to bring electrolytes. Middle of the day relaxation is always the rule for us. Early morning paddling/hiking/biking is my thing. Middle of the day is spent in the camp chair, under the tree.
LOL for all others not from the South...... Welcome to the SOUTH. HA enjoy your camping trip. Had to laugh at this video because it was like "Don't come here with your Northern Ideas of camping" LOL but you guys are spot on. Chiggers hit me hard every year along with poison Ivey
As a Midwesterner that moved to Tennessee and back people laugh when you talk about Monkey Butt powder ,,, but taking kids camping with the Scouts it was a norm Money Butt Break !! and the kids that hadn't heard of it are like "What!!!!!!"

Never tried peroxide. I’ve got about 6 bites on me at the moment. May give it a try!
