The reason a couple of them were without monsters is because in Monster Hunter Stories, its based around mainly the "Riders" and they are mostly (at first) looked down upon by Hunters. Those two ultimates without monsters are the hunters in the game (the guy with the sword was even in the Anime)
25:06 This is where we go into the deviant species. 29:12 These would be Hunting Buddies 29:25 This is Alwin a Wyverian, MH’s elf equivalent, technically. 30:41 Stories follows the Rider side of the world with Stories 2 being the advancement of the relations between Riders and Hunters. 35:36 Of there’s one thing to gripe about, this compilation is missing the dlc update monsties, that being Molten Togrex, Gold Rathians, Silver Rathalos, and the Fated Four’s Deviants.
Sadly you guys didn't get to see the DLC monsters, i think you would of gotten a kick out of them, also the two who you saw attacked with their weapons are "Hunters", the rest of them were "Riders", two very different walks of life and outlooks as well.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames I hope you do find them mate, I know it is just subspecies of monsters you already saw, but these Kinshps have some more Oomph to them.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! MONSTIES! But yeah, some of these repeats are of subspecies monster that are different elements or combat types. The your character and others with monster besties (monsties) are monster riders who specialize in taming, while the Chad swordsman and the Archery boy are Monster Hunters. It's actually a point of contention in the setting with the differing ways of life.
I definitely recommended playing it it's a pretty good game with a good story that feels like something straight out of Disney. Especially if you rather fight alongside the monsters instead of fighting and killing them.
Granted you still need to slay monsters for materials to make armour and weapons, as well as sometimes slaughter a parent defending their territory to steal their unborn eggs for yourself
Same form, different color, it's a subspecies (or a Deviant). They tend to mean a different element, or a different attack pattern, which makes for a different fight than what you're expecting at first.
13:10 this is a Purple Gypecros a sub-species of Gypecros, they have an organ on their head that works like a flint and when it's activated it creates a powerful flash of light that blinds it's opponents in the normal games they are extremely annoying for this. Also yes some monsters repeats because there are the main species and the sub-species sub-species are differently colored but they also have different abilities and powers than the main species. They also may have different weaknesses than their main species or even different elemental class entirely. 24:28 this is the start of Deviant Monsters, Deviant Monsters are certain monsters that have evolved due to extreme circumstances to develop newer and more dangerous abilities from those circumstances, I'll list each one they evolve from. Listing will be the Deviant and the monster they evolved from. Also Deviants animations are different from the normal monsters as they are meant to represent being more powerful than the monsters they evolved from. Also they will be listed in order of appearance in the video. Silverwind Nargacuga Evolved from Nargacuga. Thunderlord Zinogre evolved from Zinogre aka Thunder Puppy Bloodbath Diablos evolved from Diablos Grimclaw Tigrex evolved from Tigrex (My personal favorite Deviant) Dreadqueen Rathian evolved from Rathian Also sad to say this is not *ALL* of the kinship skills they missed showing all the DLC monsters. In monster hunter you are typically the silent protagonist you don't speak pretty much ever save in attacks. Also the cat you have is called Navirou he is a Felyne who was experimented on and it changed his appearance and gave him powers he's one of five of these mutant felynes but you don't see them in this game. I would recommend playing this game it's like pokemon meets monster hunter but I will warn that you will need to learn everything and retain a lot of knowledge to really play this game as you will have to remember monster's attack patterns. If you decide to watch the DLC monsters I'd recommend watching the video Chris Drake 512 as not only does he show the monsters kinship but has their armor with them.
Monster Hunter is a good series and a pretty fun one. It was interesting seeing it crossover for Sonic Frontiers as DLC. Two good games coming together
Did you notice when the puki-puki did the shower rain it used its tongue to create an umbrella so that the rider did not get hit by the poison that's one of my favourite animations from the kingship ultimate.
The hunters npcs do a lot more damage because they don't have a pet monster to fight with them in battle. While most double kinship attacks are the same, if you and another player do a kinship attack with the same type of monster (like two flying wyverns) then there will be a special animation for it.
The damage of the kinships is around the 700s coz they're still at a low level, once they level up, ofc, the kinship attack hits harder, except my man reverto, he hits hard from base
I agree it gets repetitive sadly they didn’t put the deviant’s that have like enhanced version’s of some of the previous attack’s . Also it’s funny you’d mention that the characters without monster’s do a lot of damage because they have to compensate for not having one since they are actually hunter’s while the others are called rider’s.
Monster Hunter Stories And Stories 2 revolve around you, a Rider from a village having to stop a calamity. You nab eggs and hatch them into partners to ride into battle using the Kinship stone on your hand and a weapon (or three) on your back. Each of the monsters shown here use their Kinship Attacks to showcase how they kind of function normally as species, keeping the intense lore loving aspect of Monster Hunter in a turn based RPG. Any repeats or recolours are known as Subspecies in the original games. Slightly different monsters that live in different habitats or having different survival adaptations like a new element. The ones need the end are Deviants, insane freak accident mutations that happen to hit like gargantuan trucks. Riders and Hunters are two very different groups of people. Riders live in tiny villages off in the wilds where they commune with nature and live peacefully. In their eyes the Hunters are evil as they go off and seemingly destroy environments and slay monsters for their own greedy gain, which in some cases is somewhat true. The Hunters then live in larger scale villages or cities owned and supported by royal kingdoms and The Guild, the overarching government force that enforced laws to protect nature and to never take advantage of it as a dominant force. Only stay as a member of the fragile ecosystem. They have a sect known as the Scriverners whom research biology, ecology, and ancient history and prophecies to learn about the world around them. Hunters are trained to defend, forage, and hunt to sustain everything and keep order. Riders are seen as strange, dangerous, and like weird hipsters. Neither group is truly in the wrong and after the events of the first game, Hunters and Riders have begun trying to understand each other and work as partnering groups. Reverto, the cocky blonde guy with the giant sword, actually helped out the main character from Stories 1 and is one of the main players when it comes to peace between the two groups. He’s awesome and also hits like a damn mountain. There are a few extra cool Kinship Attacks added with new monsters from updates, but probably not enough to make a whole video.
@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Everything said above is true, but they've forgotten an important detail. See, in the first game, you get to learn about the origins of Riders and how they came to be. It turns out that Hunters and Riders have the same origins, but Riders took a different path than the Hunters, effectively adding nurturing, rearing, and bonding with monsters to hunting (Kinda similar to what we did irl with wolves and our history with dogs). If you want more details, I'd recommend looking up a "movie" playthrough of the first MH: S, as it can fill in the gaps for the second game and flesh it out more........that, and to see where at least two of the characters come from, since they were in the first game as well. Anyway, hope this helps your understanding of this game more, and I hope y'all get to play both one day, because I definitely recommend them! :D👍
One thing, you can change the elements of the monsters, and in turn their kinship attack also changes slightly to match the element, which I think is awesome
There are actually more ults to see, so you aren't done yet! Stronger monsters showed up in title updates afterwards. The reason the damage varied is actually because they just used level 1 versions of the monsters in some cases just to show off the animation for the ultimate. In reality doing like 5000 damage is the actual endgame norm for super moves. Some monsters in the game also have unique owners that have special animations for their versions of the ultimate move. Some monsters and characters also have unique double versions of their ultimate move with special animations. Think of it as Pokemon but the formula was done well for once.
Fun fact- that very angry spiky dragon has no element. It uses its spikes and his physical strength to defeat targets. He is an elder dragon who hunts other elder dragons as well
Monster Hunter stories is essentially Monster Hunter meets Pokémon, it's actually a cool middle ground. The Pokémon style combat (minus the 19 type interactions you have to remember) with creatures that actually look plausible (as opposed to, say, a Pokémon that is essentially sentient chemical waste) is really nice to see. Edit: almost forgot to mention, there is also very much an urge to collect them all, just like Pokémon.
Haha "sentient chemical waste" XD that is a perfect way to describe some pokemon and they thought process behind making some of them. Pokemon Devs: How about a haunted Balooon? I love it! Thus Driftloon was created.
If you like pokemon but you want something different and in a monster hunter skin, this is perfect. Also, any repeats you see are most likely subspecies of original monsters
Context behind the main character here is that their grandfather was a legend amongst both Riders and Hunters and he died while investigating something that was happening all around the world and the grandchild (the playable character) gets an egg with a powerful rathalos in it. More will be revealed in the game if you would do a gameplay of it.
Longhorn upheaval is done by the strongest deviant according to cannon. Bloodbath Diablos is just a Diablos that lost a fight badly during its youth. It went on a One Punch Man training journey and became so powerful that it will actually kill Elder Dragons. The mismatched horns and tail are the parts that broke off and basically destroyed its standing in its territory. It’s literally one of the few monsters that can only be described as absolutely psychopathic since it will kill for fun. That blue color on it isn’t due to a color change or anything, it’s literally the blood of its enemies that it uses to show its strength. This beast uses the literal blood of its enemies as war paint to show its power and dominance.
btw that was tobi kadachi aka thunder squrrell, he was in the same stuff yall seen with thunder puppy. however 11:06 the spikey thunder guy that howls now theres the thunder puppy
pretty sure the monsties they used in the videos where low lvl wich is why they dint do much damage since the max/highest lvl is 99 if i remember correctly
Hate to break it to you but Rajang the one that hunts kirin the unicorn monster, Rajang was based off Goku from dragon ball hell his ultimate move in Monster hunter stories is basically the Spirit Bomb.
You should check out the new Monster Hunter rise sunbreak intros for the new monsters starting from Title Update 1 all the way to the newest one so far Title Update 3 and there are many more to come
This game is more of an rpg than the normal monster hunter. That explains why the damage stayed around the same, since I assume the monsters used were around the same level. The lower damage ones _tend_ to be from more defensive-based monsters; or maybe the uploader just had them at a lower level.
To be exact these mostly come from the kinship “gallery” which allows you to view the kinship after you’ve performed it once, with a Velocidrome as the training dummy.
20:25 reason why it’s going under the thousands is because that monster they are using have small hp if they used a stronger monster it would be doing a lot more damage
The older blonde dude (hunter) isn't full of himself, he just earned his rank through blood sweat and lots of quests....that said, he talks like a surfer dude and is the biggest himbo lol
Damage is based on the level of the monster in game, not the move or the species of the monster, the higher damaging moves only do that much because whoever made the video had them raised to a higher level
I don’t know how to get reaction channels or react to a video you want. So I came to the only solution I thought possible. Day 1 of asking for dead rising 2 all cutscenes reaction
This game is amazing but also letting you both know he is only using level 1s to do this video seeing as how they do around the same damage except on crits.
beth would low key love this game with the amount of monsters she would be able to collect and love😂

To be fair, that Hunter is a veteran with years under his belt of slaying dozens (if not hundreds) of monsters, while the monsters are adolescents.
They really shrunk all the monsters for this
