I died of laughter on that CNN intro clip, especially how they were talking shit on Canada. Ive broken my arm 3 times, went to the hospital, left the next day with $1000+ more in my bank account. Not only was it free for me to go, but affordable private insurance compensated me for my very brief trips.
Enjoy leaving the hospital with debt americans...

I broke my hand once, saw a specialist that fixed it as best he could without surgery and I shit you not two days ago I found out they're suing me for the $1800 I owe. Fuck this country, I'm moving to Canada.

Beavis Butthead That's my major issue about America. There's a frightening stupidity behind that system. There's the case of a canadian woman who gave birth when she was having vacation in Hawaii. The debt: something around $200,000

The European healthcare system is based on solidarity, on compassion with fellow people. Americans like to call it "socialism". Well, if empathy is part of socialism, I'd rather be a socialist than a capitalist.

Correction.....REPUBLICANS like to call it socialism!

    • @COMALiteJ
      @COMALiteJ Год назад

“[Republican Senator Robert] Taft explained that the great issue in this campaign is ‘creeping socialism,’ and that is what the General [Dwight D. Eisenhower, running for President at the time] is campaigning against.
"Creeping socialization" - or "creeping socialism" - those are the words that give the game away. Socialism - sometimes "creeping" and sometimes "galloping" - is the slogan and patented trademark of the special interest lobbies. Socialism is the epithet they have hurled at every advance the people have made in the last 20 years. Now listen to this:
“ • Socialism is what they called public power.
“ • Socialism is what they called social security.
“ • Socialism is what they called farm price supports.
“ • Socialism is what they called bank deposit insurance.
“ • Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.
“ • Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.
“When the Republican candidate inscribes the slogan ‘Down With Socialism’ on the banner of his ‘great crusade,’ that is really not what he means at all.
“Now, my friends, when the Republican candidate inscribes the slogan ‘Down with Socialism’ on the banner of his great crusade, that is really not what he means at all. What he really means is ‘Down with Progress,’ down with the New Deal and down with the fair Deal. That’s what the objective of the great crusade is now. Don’t you fool yourselves.”
      - _Then=President _*_Harry S Truman,_*_ campaigning for his then-Vice President and Democratic Party nominee Adlai Stevenson on October 2, 1952 at a train stop at the Armory in Tacoma._

Fortunately here in the United States we have both. Socialism does not stand in opposition to capitalism despite what Faux News would have you believe. The military, Social Security, Medicare, fire and police protection are all examples of the combination of capitalism and socialism.

What a crock of shit on Canadian health care. I can go to a doctor today if need be and wait no more than 1hr. Specialists within a week. If you go to an emergency room you are triaged and wait is dependent on severity of illness, and how many people are in the waiting room. A couple of years ago I was getting an odd pain in my chest though not too severe. Went to a hospital here in Toronto and was hooked up to an ECG talking to 2 doctors within 10mins of arriving. That was including registering for my first visit to that particular hospital which takes a few mins. That is nothing in comparison to the nightmare stories I have read about sick people in the USA whom dont have insurance.. Apples and small block chevy's : /

Health insurance companies should also be charged with TERRORISM CHARGES whenever they FRAUDULENTLY DENY A CLAIM. FURTHERMORE, fraudulent insurance companies should be sued for medical malpractice whenever the insurance company denies a claim. If they can make a medical decision, pay the price as needed. This, of course, will be done to sue for damages, but CRIMINAL CHARGES FOR PRACTICING MEDICINE WITHOUT A LICENSE MUST GO FIRST

"That Michael Moore is more of a left-wing promoter than Hugo Chávez for crying out loud." - Hahahahaha, I guess someone had to tow the official line, since Wolf Blitzer seems to be more moderate in his reporting.

    • @legaliseme

The fact of the matter is that compared to America, of course Venezuela and Cuba arent as good, but its just a fallacy to compared what are LEDC countries to the worlds pre-eminent HEDC. Why dont you compare the literacy rates and access to healthcare across latin america? or poverty rates in socialist and non socialist countries in south america?
The truth of the matter is that the majority of latin america are still living in abject poverty , and the socialist governments which have been in power have vastly reduced the amount of people living in poverty.
      Capitalism is not the answer.

You are spot on. I live in Mexico now, but before that I lived in Cuba for 2 months (in Trinidad) with my boyfriend and his family. He's a laborer who does private construction work, but he used to be a medical student. Why did he drop out of medicine in his final year to work privately as a builder?
Doctors in Cuba get paid about $30 a month. A MONTH. Policemen? About $15 a month. Work in a store? Maybe $10 a month.
If you think people can't survive on this wage, it's because you're right. They don't.

    • @CarlosRamos-hc8ky

legalism when you live in a socialist country, you can then tell us which one you prefer a capitalist system or a socialist system. and how is that that cuba and Venenezuela are not good example, moore did compare healthcare in america to cuba healthcare. all of that is bullshit.

~8:20 Yes! Our corporate media is owned and operated on behalf of corporations and billionaires, and their primary mission is increasing quarterly profits. What's best for the country, our communities, cities, and states is merely secondary in service of boosting quarterly profits. The sooner people realize that, and push for a different, better system, where the media is not owned by the billionaires and corporations, and the advertising is strictly regulated, the better off we'll all be.
