Hi, Great video thanks for posting. My 2012 X5 takes a long time to start in the morning. Only in the morning. I have read that could be the High pressure fuel pump (HPFP) causes the long crank. Any ideas?
THERE IS A RECALL FOR THESE FUEL PUMPS, THEY WILL REPLACE IT FREE OF CHARGE!!!
Hi I have a 2012 BMW X5 xdrive35i. I replaced my throttle body and my HPFP. The car throwing fault code P15DF. I also have the Engine alert: Engine malfunction reduced power Chassis stabilization malfunction DBC malfunction drive carefully. Thank you or your subscribers for any advice…
i'm so glad i found this video. I upgraded to the hellcat lpfpI and still had the same problem. could not figure out why there was no fuel at high speed. The cap was missing from my bucket also.
No code! That was the weird thing. I have to go through everything relays fuel battery power you name it. The tricky part is that you may get fuel on the lines but no pressure. You will hear the pump working but not building up pressure.
Can you hear the fuel pump when turning the key to the on position? Relay is working can hear it click, but I hear no whine from the fuel pump pump. Vehicle just cranks and no start.
You really have to go to the passenger rear seat and have someone open the key to hear it.. try checking the fuel rail there is a little cap take it off and there ia a valve stem like you find on tires. Try to move it and see if you have pressure
What happens if you don't disconnect the battery before working on this car? I have a 08 and did a head gasket but didn't disconnect and now it won't start
On mine it draw the battery below 12.3 v and wont let it start. You may have all the electronics or inside lights working but wont let it start. Also modules and some sensors are sensitive when disconnecting when they have charge. What does your car do? Does it crank or not?
Ok you may want to check the little wire underneath the intake for the knocking sensor. That happened to me too. Actually when you put the intake sometimes you pull to much and accidentally disconects
@@hollywoodlive6559 how much fuel do you have? Also check your battery, good isn't enough, you need proper power like a full battery I sold mine but check your sensors as well
That big hose clamp is the worst part of this entire job. Terrible design by BMW

Yes true
Great job! Thank you! 👏👏👏
Hey, that little cap that pops off and let's the fuel pressure out. Do you know what it's called? I ordered a new pump and I lost the cap :(
Looks like a miserable job 😢

Thanks for watching! And so far i havent have any issues with it so i will give a good feedback
What code did you have before changing the pump? Why did you change it?

Anyone have any idea where the fuel filter is?
Inside the fuel pump it has a like a mesh thing at the bottom so it wont suck dirt
Good job
