Sierra was clutch in the postseason. I miss watching him play. He had the sweetest swing ever.

Ruben Sierra always hit well against the Twins with the A’s/Rangers back when Minnesota was in the AL West

Crazy to think how close the twins were to going up 2-0 in the series against the Yankees, also how close it came to going 5 games had it not been for ruben Sierra's homer in game 4. Really shows how mediocre the Yankees starting rotation was in 04. They really didn't crush the twins in 04 like they did in 03, despite winning in 4 games again. Great offense & a tremendous bullpen the Yankees had in 04. However it starts with your starting pitching. It shows how much trouble they were gonna be in, in the alcs.

On paper, I thought that the 2004 Yankees had a very nice starting rotation, with Jon Lieber, Kevin Brown, Javy Vazquez, Mike Mussina, and El Duque. However, their performance on the field in 2004 was something else, and not in a good way.
Also, the Yankees didnt crush the Twins in 2004 like they did in 2003, mainly because of the rise of Johan Santana (best pitcher in baseball from 2004 to 2008)

That was a 1 in a 10000, help from God play, bc the Yanks wud have been up 5 - 4, and you know damn well MO isn't blowing 2 in a row. Just ain't happening. Yanks in 5.

@@Surfer041 oh like when A-Rod hit a 2 run bomb onto Landsdown Street in Game 4 that gave them the lead. If Mario gets the outs arod is one of the heroes. Walking Millar was killer. Tom Gordon also was wretched in Game 5. Then there was Torre starting Brown in Game 7.

@@tamerlanenj it was definitely more Torre than Arod blowing that series. When he struck out against an exhausted Timlin with Cairo on 3rd and one out in game 5 up by two in the 8th, I had a feeling the Yankees were in trouble trouble. The rest of the lineup also decided to stop hitting with the exception of Matsui.

@andrewculbertson1079 I watched over 150 games in 04. The Yankees starting pitching was horrible for a vast majority of it. The bats picked the worse time to go ice cold. October. On top of Torre butchering games 4 5 and 6.
