    2009 Yankees were STACKED. A-Rod, Jeter, Posada, Matsui, Damon, Swisher, Cabrera, Teixeira, Cano?!?! I mean damn. As great of a team as you'll ever get.

      DonCorleone87- Were 2009 Yankees better than 2017-2018 Yankees?

    • @TonyTone1
      @TonyTone1 6 лет назад +4

      Jay Vee- ‘98 Yankees won a three peat championships, and don’t have the fire power 🔥 of 2018 Yankees . The difference is the ‘98 use clutch hitting, bunting and stealing bases and 2018 most time believe in long the ball and forget the baseball fundamentals

    I remember the win against the Mets a lot - the game where Castillo dropped the pop up.
    What impressed me about that play was that, Mark Teixeira was running hard all the way and scored.
    Remember...this was his first year in the Bronx. As a fan, I was convinced after that play that the guy played every play hard...even on a popup.

    • @97Senator
      @97Senator 5 лет назад

      That's the advantage of baserunning with 2 outs. You can hustle hard to get a run; and if they catch it, that ends the inning and you don't have to run back to your original base.

    The music you put on the intro and outro is perfect, for whatever reason it triggered a memory for me, and took me back to my child hood days! It was just yesterday I was watching the yankees, and I mean the YANKEES, the real dynasty. It saddens my heart to know that we will never see those days again. Everything is different now. The world has changed, post 9/11, post Covid 19, technology changed, social media now exists, virtual reality now exists, so much hate and division. It seems that it was the perfect storm back then. Before technology took us over the edge, we were right at that point in time where it all seemed so beautiful, National pride was at such a high, people were hard working, loving, caring, Americans. If you got to live through that time, you can consider yourself blessed! It will never be the same, and the Yankees won’t either.

    this whole season was kinda hilarious as a fan. We just moved into the new stadium and we were wondering if the old Mystique would carry to the new park. And then the 09 season happens it got to the point where people at the stadium just started predicting walk off wins by like the 7th inning if we were behind it was scary.

      As a Yankee fan, I always wonder what would have happened if Castillo didn't slip. I assume he threw to second because he wouldn't have had enough strength to make a close play at home from his knees. If he doesn't lose footing, he could have possibly thrown Teixeira out at home and sent the game to extras.

    • @MrJon1138
      @MrJon1138 6 лет назад +10

      I'll never forget that game because I was standing above the couch, disgusted, with my TV remote in hand and the power button half-way pressed. "F*%&ing A-Rod, of course he pops it up." Usually, most days, I push that power button before the ball even falls because I don't want to hear, "And that does it, Yankees lose," or whatever. I mean 99.9% of the time a popup like that is caught, I'd never even think to wait until it drops to turn off the TV. For some reason, though, I just didn't push the power button. Then that thing fell and I wasn't even cheering, which would be a normal reaction to something good happening, I just started laughing! I couldn't believe what I just saw. I thought oh sweet wow we're going to tie this thing! Wait... wait are we going to WIN? On a dropped popup? It went so quickly from game over to tie to winning, it was like an emotional rollercoaster you can't even really experience because it was at such a fast pace.

  • @RootinNRuttin
    @RootinNRuttin Год назад +3

    Possibly the greatest, most resilient Yankees team in history. Brian Cashman prevented them from future World Series. I remember that following offseason, he let Damon and Matsui leave. Cabrera and Hinske traded for non clutch players. He not only got rid of players thinking he was “investing,” he completely tore down the team chemistry. The loss of Damon and matsui was horrific, declining or not. Their presence in the clubhouse and major post season experiences. And then the chemistry loss with Melky traded. I was PISSED when he topped it off with melky. They were never the same again. And never will be. They will never, unfortunately, win another World Series again with Cashman at the helm of gm and Hal running it into the ground. Their lineup is absolutely atrocious today. Expecting judge to carry them all year. Volpe, great athlete and ball player but he’s not ready. Hicks, awful. He’s done. Rizzo, way past his prime. Stanton, not fit for New York. He needs to go back to Miami with no pressure! They don’t have a closer. Holmes is eh, mediocre. Gleyber is streaky. Cabrera is decent, not a game changer by any means. Cordero is all or nothing and DJ isn’t what he once was. So their team is NOT a World Series team. Not even close. They’ll be lucky with a wild card bid and then they will be eliminated in the first round. ALCS will be swept again if they even have a prayer for that. They’re not good this year. Bottom line.

He was MVP in '27 when Babe hit 60, hit 4 consecutive homeruns in one game, still holds the AL record for RBI's in a season with 184, held the record for grand slams(23) until A-ROD broke it and played in 2130 straight games. We hate him because he used drugs and then at the end of his career he really sucked. Plus i cant stand his commentary whenever he does the games
