Man! That was awesome experiencing that hunt with you, and your buddy with the camera!! You were so quiet and intense, while your buddies excitement grew and grew! I didn't realize it until the deer was dead, but I was actually, literally excited!!! I just fed of Mr. Cameraman's uncontrollable excitement!!! Loved it!!! I'm to old to do that now. Thanks guys!!
Congrats on a great NH buck. Really enjoyed the video. You guys did us New Englanders justice (I’m from NH) and represented how hard mountain tracking whitetails are. It’s funny….. I’m watching the video thinking how the RUclips community really has no idea just what the physical and mental toughness that is needed /required to hunt this way really is. I was glad to hear you talk about it at the end. Great buck and really enjoyed it. Good luck this season if you’re not already tagged out.
Impressive how you went back and caught it circling you. And how you picked it up with that doe. Great job. Great job in staying with it too. Ol' Larry would have been impressed.
Awesome hunt fellas !!! Will be great to look back on this footage when your older (trust me 😉) . Live I NH as well and done my share of mountain climbing /tracking . Spent this last weekend doing just that.... Ya gotta stay in shape!!!! Was great to experience it with so many good friends , all willing to come help drag .... All you have to do now , is top it , lol ...Best of luck this year .....
Tracking big mountain deer can be so tough both mentally and physically and anyone that hasn’t had that experience really can’t relate to the excitement of success when it all comes together. Swearing is a part of that and does not need to be edited or bleeped out, just my opinion. Excellent video and unbelievable buck. So glad I got to “follow” along on the trail vicariously through video. Thanks
Wisconsin hunter here, son that was as cool a hunt as I've ever seen..that buck was a warrior taken out by a tougher warrior..congrats on a great hunt.
That's how we do it in New England! It's never easy up here but hard work always prevales. My biggest TD is a 197lb 9 with my smoke pole! Great deer brother!
My dad and I dragged my 10 pt. (240 lbs dressed) buck out of 4 miles of northern WI river bottoms. Used the same method of tying a sawn off sapling to his antlers. One of the toughest slogs I've ever experienced but loved every minute of it! Great buck bud!
Great buck. Congrats! I have been walking the ridges for quite a while. When they go out of sight and I am not sure of the shot I do what Hal does. Start a fire, have a sandwich and give him an hour. I have learned it can save a lot of time, energy and shorten the drag. I was also young like you guys and I fully understand. Great video! He is a beauty and you have great hunting buddies.
A great buck in anyone's woods. Congrats man. I admire those who hunt like this. Real deer hunters. We do it quite a bit differently here in Tx. But it is what it is. Different conditions for sure. Well deserved big buck. You put in more work in this one hunt than I have in the last 5 seasons lol. Youdaman !!

Congratulations on an awesome Buck! Way to go. A great hunt! 12 points? I didn’t hear a weight ? By the end of that drag; he probably felt like a thousand pounds.
Great buck! If you had waited several hours after the first gut shot that buck would have died within 150 yards of the shot saving you from a long drag. By tracking it, you were pushing him to get up and move. Being patient with a buck like that is tough.
Completely serious question...where can i get a hat like that...not even joking...and congrats on the slob as well...I just did my first maine hunt this year n was lucky enough to track n shoot a spike near Jackman....def hooked now!
One buck or doe depending on how many doe days where your hunting and one buck or doe with the bow. And you can buy extra archery buck tag and 2 unit m doe tags. So you could harvest 5 deer in nh

Is there a certain sign that you look for to suggest that you're nearing the deer that you're tracking? Just started this two years ago but both seasons spooked the deer from the bed (as it is I try to watch for it the whole time but didn't know if there's something in particular that I should be watching for to let me know it's near)
If a buck changes directions drastically or starts feeding those are two great indicators that the buck is going to lay down and you need to start moving painfully slow.
