My HW30S .177 is the first thing I grab when headed outside, and a close second will be my HW35 stainless in .177 depending on task. My FX PCP's generally just sit around in gun racks and cabinets. Cheers from Texas!
I have mine for 3 weeks. It's everything everyone said it was. I love it. I'm thinking of the 95 for my garage rifle unless you and a few others convinced me otherwise. I need about 40-50 meters for that.
I grew up in South Africa , had the Gecado 25 in 177, never knew any different, just shot it , and shot it , occasional barrel pull through, singer sewing machine oil in and around trigger, and barrel hinge !! Because of that air gun, I have always loved break barrel springers, still do , still have a few, now that I'm almost 70 !!
Ive arrived late to the HW30s owners club, and didn't know what I was missing. With the usual 'Spit & Polish' fettle to debur the cylinder, spring and guide transplant using the correct lubes...they are stunning😉
Very accurate and easy to shoot accurately. Do you know you can get these as HW30K (shorter barrel with 1/2UNF)? HW30K TbTwith a small moderator is my favourite plinker.
Great little gun…. Mine suffered from the most severe case of galling from new. Had to take off a lot of material from the cocking arm and around the linkage. From the sound of it the fix is easier on the 99 where they’ve tried to do something about it…. Be interesting to see what you find with that one.
The Cometa 220 is much cheaper and bit more powerful, i think the barrel is as accurate as a HW but the trigger and overal finish is no match for the HW. If i could only keep two springers it would be a hw30 and a 97 😁
I've had that 30 for a couple of years the rifle pellets from Brazil are exceptional in it i tried hard to get the laminate stock but there was only 300 they all went to America i would imagine the beeman connection was behind that i have read that beeman married one of weihrauchs daughters but how true I don't know
Im pretty sure thats sold as the HW30SF in the uk, not the 'S' which is a kit with a scope and no open sights. The SF is the version i am about to buy so im really looking forward to seeing if you can develop a TBT kit for it. Much as i fancy a 22, i think I will end up with .177 as i don't hunt or do any pest control so they are target only and .177 seems to make the most sense for that.
@@alistairmcclure1930 my hw30 had grease in it from when I bought it new. The piston seal was black through disabling, although there wasn't much grease in the cylinder. The spring was covered in grease so I think it must have travelled from the cocking slot. People do put piston sleeves in this rifle eg air grandi site and others
@ Weihrauch slather everything in their brown sticky grease to stop the rifles rusting on the shelf, they slap it everywhere including the piston head..
I worked out a new TbT F1 kit for it today. Due to my dodgy shoulder they will be in limited numbers until the new year. Full details in the videos over the next three nights, but the headlines are: up to 9 ft-lb in .22, up to 8 in .177. Both those figures without added preload and both as smooth as you would expect
Great idea getting 177 barrel aswell nick. My standard 22 was around 525 with hobby' s, my 177 has around 655 -660 jsb rs , sounds like you've made a usfull improvement mate 👍
Great rifle! The inserts hanging on your trigger guard mate! The HW30 shoot better in .177, especially on longer distance. In my opinion it's a bit to weak to be a .22cal. Are you teasing you F government with that knife? 😆👍

I can't understand the need to make a sub 12 ft/lb air rifle to be such a sweet air rifle. I've got a HW95 which I consider a light rifle. It's never been touched inside and was running at 11.3 ft/lbs the last time I tested it on the chrono. It's a vermin gun, it goes straight through wood pigeons at 30 yards so its an humane kill. You start ponsing about with less energy and you land up with less killing power. Look at the regs for deer stalking they require muzzle energy and velocity to give clean kills. Wood Pigeons are tough birds and need full power air rifles to dispatch them. I'd never go near a low power HW30.
It shouldn’t, but some shops can be awkward jobsworths! It’s a Weihrauch springer! Fire a few shots through it, if it works it will carry on working. Once you’ve tested it you can crack on!👍
@@stevefirkins1806No. As per every video I’ve made in the last five weeks; the grease in there is just to stop it rusting on the shelf. It will not protect metal against wear.

Awesome man, that is two lovely springers you have there.
The HW30S is a fine model for sure. Great for plinking and garden fun.
Bought a HW30s Kit during covid for use indoors, could just about get 10 yds across my landing. Cracking little rifle.

Put a piston sleeve in it . Grease from spring migrates from cocking slot to front of piston otherwise
Using a TbT kit means you need less grease, so you don’t need a sleeve and can save moving weight, reducing surge recoil👍
I’ve never ever seen the migration theory in practice. Unless you slater it in with a trowel.

Is it possible to buy a springer you dont have to take to pieces, just shoot?
Yes, and the vast majority of owners do just that. It’s just some of us want them to be better👍
How do you get on with the import tax from Germany which must put the price up considerably?.
Contact me directly and I can have certain kits sent from our EU office👍
