The two man game between Brunson and Kat is going to be so much fun to watch. I’m intrigued on how good will Kat be as a passer this season. Isaiah Hartenstien’s passing unlocked a lot for the Knicks offense. Kat’s passing will be big with him being surrounded by OG,Bridges, and Hart who are not high level self creators.

The Knicks with a healthy KAT is a 60+ win team.
With a healthy Mitch
This move works if Thibs accepts that KAT is not, and never will be, some kind of elite defensive center, and this team has to step away from the defensive mindset he has tried to instill. You are not going to play watertight defense with Brunson and KAT on the court. He needs to embrace this team's offensive potential, and I don't know if he's capable of that.
Alex mentioned this at the end but my biggest worry is KAT's foul trouble, especially when they're going to face Giannis and Embiid. Thibs might put OG or Precious on those guys instead but we'll just have to see.

we have 5 out spacing on offense with the addition of KAT.
Not too worried about the knicks defense. Remeber when the bulls had lonzo and caruso for that half season? that was a top 5 defense with vucevic as the center. KAT is a better defender than vuc and i think Mikal and OG are better than caruso and lonzo on D.
Caruso is one of the best POA defenders in the league, and KAT is not a good defender.

My favorite part about this trade was how random and sudden it was. NBA teams get to 2K blacktop draft every year lol. Ultimately, I think this trade helps both teams; however, in my eyes, the Knicks are the winners as long as Kat plays and does his game when he does. For Minnesota, this trade makes me think they have a lot of trust in the pieces already on the team. Personally, I'm very excited to see Rob Dillingham play, if they just let him get frequency, 15+ ppg and 3.5 apg. That's not even to mention Donte (High-frequency Sniper PG), TSJ (2K PG player model template), Jaden McDaniels, and NAW got drafted as a combo guard but just became a defensive menace as his trade to carve out playing time. Throwing a player of Julius Randle's caliber in there will only be a plus. However, there will be moments where rudy and him sharing the court will be Basketball Terrorism.
Exactly trading for a starting Center while having backup pfs who can play center and run small ball lineup for our bench is great with these elite two way wings on the roster even Deuce mcbride at 6’2 is an elite two way SG

KAT: 89% ofr, 82% dfr, 40% 3pt
People forget that Hart in the starting lineup giving us blue collar worker triple doubles (10/10/10), will be so important for a team with 39-40% shooters from 3pt. Hart is the best rebounding guard in the NBA under 6'4", and KAT averaged over 11R and 25 pts per game without Gorbert clogging the paint and Edwards taking over the 1a spot on offense. This will be a more fluid, efficient, and more effective lineup without Julius stopping the flow of the ball and without his bone head 4-5 TOs per game.

Minnesota has been trying to make kat shoot more three's a game and for whatever reason he just stays around 5 a game. I REALLY hope NY can do something about that. He should be taking like 8+ a game.

This is an excellent trade with the asset that the Knicks gave up which really is nothing. NY is the perfect situation for KAT as he can be “hidden” behind Hart OG, Robinson & Bridges on defense and just focus on Offense with Brunson

Wolves front office cheaped out big time. Randle is a huge downgrade. Him and Rudy will just clog up the paint and make it much worse for Antman.
@@janoycresnova9156 Wolves is already over the 2nd appon so this move was to lower their tax bill. Even if the Wolves decide to drop Randle they only have like 15 million to spend before they get over the 2nd appron. Gobert most likely will be the next one shopped because Timberwolves have no way to get better with that 40 million Gobert contract. If Timberwolves get rid of Randle plus Gobert they can bring in a costar to help Ant.
Will Karl-Anthony Towns be healthy? We traded two DOGS for a center who has played only four more games than Big Mitch over the last five years. Trade Dubious Handle, sure. For a defensive center, who excels at pick and rolls. Towns is not that guy on defense or pick and rolls.
Yeah that's my biggest issue with this trade no one is talking about. Mitchell's always hurt so you trade away an all star and one of the best 3 & D players and a first round pick for another center who is always hurt, not to mention his price tag is insane. They went into this trade needing center depth and they leave it with still needing center depth and now having a bigger need for depth as a whole. And if Thibs plays these guys 45 mins a night all year like he usually does, they're going to be super fucked when the injury bug kicks in like it does for the majority of teams

Hey, i had hope for him, but he turned out to be a detrimentally lazy defender, a foul-out target, a player who cant create for himself, and most of all a very big baby who thinks hes lebron james. His role was essentially replaced by Naz Reid in the playoffs for a reason. Hes got alot of potential, but hes a dope, t-wolves fans really arent even mad hes gone.
Kat is a better system player than Randle but one thing randle was that Kat isnt is a physical and tough player. That can potentially be a issue for the knicks come playoff time. something that cant be ignored

Knicks FLEECED the Timbs. Julius Randle gets worse in the playoffs and even though Donte is a great 3 and D, KAT showed some great D during the playoffs last season while shooting lights out from behind the arc.

Idk about this tbh. Hartelstein was great for them last year and now they have a lot of guys that will be unhappy averaging 14ppg. They are weak defensively at 2 key positions with KAT.

Contract flexibility is being overated, considering that Randle now has all the leverage to get a max deal from the Wolves, since there are going to have teams like the Nets with money wanting a great player, Donte is not playing the same postion as Kat, unless Ant is playing the three which is not sustainable for long periods of time.
The real good part is taking the ball away from Ant and making him play more offball, Randle were playing great with Mitchell so he will play well with Rudy, the real advantage is that since Randle is a bully he will force mismatches which is going to generate good offense, the problem is the spacing, both Randle and Jaden will have to shoot at least league average if they want to play well, if both are shooting well the Wolves are really set
