Jeff is criminally underrated, the man was blind, had to develop a unique style to play the guitar and could give even SRV a run for his money.R.I.P. Jeff Healey.
@@imasweetheartofgod3838 Jeff wasn't born blind, at 7 years old he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, a tumor behind his eyes. They had to remove the tumor and his eyes to save him. Sadly, the tumor returned and this time they couldn't operate it out.
@@greekfreak1980 he died of this disease?i found him of road house but itz like funny cuz i was checking house music for my soul+body n idk how im here☺😊n i began from rod house tracklist bc i loved a song wasnt there n now im listening to his albums WOW!!he seems was a beautiful person...thank u
This blew me away the first time I heard it. Totally different than Dylan's. Much better, it has that JH style of lead guitar. Underrated is an understatement. All his music, Rock , jazz, everything is so good.
My goodness. As a guitarist, few can compare. But, as with Jimi, no one ever talks about his vocals, which were spot on. This performance is flawless. His band kicks ass as well.
WOW, can this man play and perform... Being blind, Jeff could see more with his heart and soul than most of us could see with our sight... Definitely one of the greats!!!
One of the most underrated blues rock guitarists of all time. Dude was every bit as good as SRV and he was blind for God's sake. RIP Jeff Healey. LEGENDS NEVER DIE.
Ever since I seen ROADHOUSE for the 1st time, many many many many years ago......this song always stuck in my head......and always will......this man could play better then most sighted people........simply amazing
Yes, I love that film for introducing me to Jeff. He and his band mates did a very credible job as actors, of course Jeff had the major part to play, and did it so very well. If I remember, SRV recommended him for the part. Jeff's performance of Hoochie Coochie Man was great also. I have the film on 2 platforms (if that's the term) plus the soundtrack. Wonderful to see him perform this entire song, live.
RIP Jeff Healey. Died 8 Years ago today, March 02, 2008, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Born March 25, 1966, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Norman Jeffrey "Jeff" Healey was a blind Canadian jazz and blues-rock vocalist and guitarist who attained musical and personal popularity, particularly in the 1980s and 1990s. He hit Number 5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart with "Angel Eyes" and reached the Top 10 in Canada with the songs "I Think I Love You Too Much" and "How Long Can a Man Be Strong." I saw and met him on a couple of occasions. One of the Nicest people you could ever wish to meet and a Phenomenal Guitarist. RIP Jeff.
Met him at his bar in Toronto in 2006 when he was playing live the night i was there. Half time he was led through the bar where he spoke to some of us there watching. Sad day when he passed not only loved his music but also the film Roadhouse.
Much thanks and love to Jeff and his ripping music!. The Astaire moves of the bass man are so graceful in setting up Jeff's position to work the stage standing and playing beautifully. In gratitude to all on the stage for this music for all eternity.................
This song is 10x better then the original and the fact that he sounds the exact same live as he did in the movie is amazing, this is one of my top 10 favorite songs ever, Bob Dylan wrote it, Jeff Healy gave it life and mastered it, RIP Jeff.
Jeff Healey is legendary as Ray Charles . They see all now .Big band in the sky. Its the biggest and greatest. EVer notice how God takes the greatest in their prime?
It's not about being blind it's about realising that anyone can become who they want,I never looked at Jeff as being blind I looked at Jeff as being blessed by a guitar rip big man ❤️
This should be a lesson for all of us who piss and moan that we can't better ourselves. This guy had the deck stacked against him- trying to succeed in the ultra competitive music business, and being blind on top of it- and he did it. Even was featured in the movie Road House.
I can see, but I'm blind.... can you blister the fretboard like that? See the hear, that I can smell, is this me, or someone else, mode beyond the realm of Zen, here to there, all within..... Jeff was a master in his realm... his realm.
Jeff was certainly an inspiration to say the least. Jeff battled cancer from infancy until death. He was hosting a Nation wide jazz program, playing with both of his bands and had just finished his last album weeks prior to his death. His passion for music was a driving force in keeping him alive, hell he had more drive than most healthy people. One hell of a sense of humor as well.He said when the cancer hit his lungs, "Hey I have had 40 good years, there was bound to be a bump in the road", working til two weeks before death..Saw him several times here in Ontario, one incredible talent....
This is by far the best video of Jeff doing this great song a justice only he could serve.upcloce, personal, relaxed, uin your faceand just Jamming.RIP to a legend.😢😢❤️❤️
Помним,Любим, Скорбим!!!И так же как и тебя помним и любим твоего лучшего друга замечательного актера и человека Патрика Суэйзи!!!Вечная Вам память...Мы никогда Вас не забудим!!!
I saw Jeff in the 1990s. It's still one of my favorite shows and guitarists of all time. It was a small show kinda intimate &I had good seats. Iwas in my 20s & had a great fukn time. RIP Brother 🙏🏻
yes he was a brilliant musician Jeff Healey unbelievable talent this man had and he got to the top music wise and he never let his disability being blind get in his way ,RIP Jeff

Fantastic guitar licks, right on target and from a blind man playing this double-neck like a lap steel. Absolutely amazing. This song reminds me of All Along The Watchtower, little different rhythm to it though, dynamite lyrics too.
I have/watched listened to this clip many times. How the heck did Jeff find his way back to his chair? Saw him do this, playing with SRV, just amazing 3D space skills. The drummer is killing it, here, I am amazed by the energy. This was a marvelous "3 man band", excellent vocals by other guitarist, too. Oh, Jeff we lost you too soon. What a joy to hear his voice watch his fingers flying along, not too mention behind his back. I am in awe, every time.
This is a guy that other big named musicians came to see. He was one of the best ever. I got to see him at a small club called Bogart's in Cincinnati, (Clifton by UC). I was front row standing with my elbows on the stage, great show! He was taken way too soon.

What a stunning talent !!🎼🎵🎶🎸

Let’s not go crazy there tonto. Jeff Healey was excellent, but an SRV he wasn’t. That is a height that only Hendrix could reach.

Right," blessed by a inanimate object"
Not by THE ALMIGHTY
Best guitarist that ever lived.
I think Jeff shows that anything is possible if you try hard enough. What a talent. RIP.
