literally a baby tahoe and i love it, honestly looks better than the tahoe imo.
The longevity of a naturally aspirated V-6 is far more attractive to me than a 4-cylinder turbo.
Love the new Traverse. Great styling, great standard power, great standard tech, and an overall phenomenal family hauler. Definitely a top class pick.
Congrats on hitting 500K subscribers. You guys do a great job.
I'm worried about it being so late. I wonder if it is worth to wait to the 2025 to get all the little things fixed that they didn't have time to fix.
Thanks! It probably won't be all that long until the introduce the 2025 models since this has gotten a late launch
If you want a more luxurious interior, not only could you go for the GMC Acadia as you mentioned, but also the upcoming Buick Enclave, which is also based on the same platform.
Hopefully both of them will have better sound deadening. They should since they’re leaning towards the luxury side.
I prefer the traverse interior
However, Some of the competition has a much more luxurious interior and more options included at a quite a bit lower price than the Traverse and especially what the Acadia and Enclave will cost.
Palisade Calligraphy has the best in class luxurious interior and tech.
@@al151 It doesn’t, Buick Enclave has better technology and blows the Hyundai out of the water with their latest very cohesive styling from the wildcat concept. Enclave has a classier more upscale interior design. Palisade looks like an old Korean rendition of a Cadillac XT6 rendering imo.
Car confections when doing your videos on cargo areas or trunks, can you add how many suitcases can be stored in these areas.
I travel by vehicle a lot and suitcase storage is very important
4 cylinder in a vehicle that size??!! 👎👎👎🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ No thanks. Next.
Bu but but it has a turbo .....
We have to drive big vehicles that are friendly to the environment......
No thanks I'll keep my 2021 nissan armada V8 5.6 thank you!!
4 cylinders with a Turbo make more power and torque than the V6 engines they replaced.
plus they get better gas mileage!
@@bobhirdes6725 and they take on way more stress and effort. They can keep the extra horsepower
Fantastic video!😸
Thank you! 😄 Happy Friday!
4:35 0-60 7seconds??
It’s very nice, the super cruise, is cool
Great video team you guys are awesome , question here in Canada we only get the AWD version however we have the ability to switch off AWD if switched off does that mean the ratings of fuel economy would be 20city 27 highway and 23 combined apply?? When switched off
It should be, because you're only supplying power to 2 wheels therefore being (slightly) more efficient.
Thank you! In that case, it probably would be close to the FWD fuel economy. The only difference would be the extra weight vs the FWD-only version
What's the point of buying a turbo engine if you are not gaining MPG compared to the naturally aspirated V6.
Around town power delivery is much better with the tq the 4 cylinder makes down low
Emissions, it's all about emissions
Emissions
It's less expensive to build.
There are several reasons. Did you not hear the power output? This engine makes more power than the V6 without a fuel economy decrease too.
WHat do you think about the handling compared to the Explorer st
That thing is a tank!
No V6 option at all? No thanks. A GM turbo 4cylinder won’t last in the long run. A naturally aspirated V6 will though. #NoReplacementForDisplacement
Love cars
Airball:4 cylinder turbo as the only engine option for such a large SUV
I had chance to either wait for this suv or buy something else. Ended up with a 24 Palisade Calligraphy. Very happy with the purchase. The luxury and tech is above anything in its class. What i don’t understand is why Chevy is not adding features like second row sunshades. They are a must for families with babies and kids in the second row.
Buying a new Hyundai is like playing Russian roulette. Some people want fake luxury for less money so they’ll go the S. Korean route. But second row sunshades have NEVER been a “MUST” for families unless your kid is a Disney star. I’ve never taken my nieces or nephews on a trip and they’ve asked me where the sunshades were. This is also because tinting in the rear comes on these vehicles now from the factory. In my experience kids will ask me how to adjust their seats, to adjust the A/C for them, maybe change the ambient lighting color, and play their favorite songs. Traverse is going to be more reliable with fewer issues than a Palisade Calligraphy.
I’ve scoured the web and still haven’t seen a black one yet. I want to see what a black RS looks like to help me make my decision. If you guys can find one…show us.
The majority of the driving public do not know enough about engines, turbos, cubic inches, torque and horsepower to care. Just like and air compressor, the higher the pressure you run it the shorter the life of the pump, a car engine is a pump. Turbo's pressurize the engine to falsely make it put out more power. The 4 cylinders lose power as they get more miles on them, there is no substitute for cubic inches, horsepower and torque. I have built engines and turbo's boost the pressure into the small engines creating more power at the expense of the life of the engine. Your maintenance cost will exponentially increase with a turbo when it fails. Any economy you may have gotten from the turbo will be totally lost on the replacement cost of the turbo.
Strongly dislike all the engine noise. However, Toyota is just as loud inside the cabin. Great power figures. Do worry about quality long term.
That's where music comes in, you don't buy this to listen to the engine.
If I'm forced to get a 4 cylinder turbo, I would trust a Toyota turbo 4 cylinder engine more.
Is there a subcription for the super cruise?
You will need to be subscribed to a OnStar plan after the included 3-years to keep it functioning
That poor engine won't last long, and where are the fog lamps?
Traverse got rid of fog lamps for the 2022 refresh. Uses an oncoming traffic blinding LED headlamp that throws a lot of light.
Lol
I feel the pain doug
4cyl at that price point is a nope.
omg, you guys need to get over this already. The 4 cyl has been a reliable engine for decades, you never owned one to bash one.
If you want to buy large and reliable SUV with nice V6: Honda Pilot. It might be boring but will last next 20 years
Really wanted to get this with the z71 package until i found out they got rid of the v6. Got a honda pilot trailsport instead.
Pilot interior does not compare and neither does the value proposition. The 3.5 sounds as anemic as it feels at 280 hp 262 lb.ft. of torque in comparison to how this 2.5T will feel on the road.
lucky they got rid of the v6 it was a timebomb on wheel do some research on that gm v6. this one fixed all the issues from the 2.7l version in their trucks and should be reliable. 100% 10x more reliable then that shitty v6 the had
@@AmcoAutoGlass More reliable, more powerful, and most importantly mated to the new 8-speed automatic. That old 6-speed just wasn’t enough gears and should’ve been much smoother.
Chevy: putting a sedan engine in a huge SUV. Most of us: good luck with that.
Is the suspension the ssme as the 2nd gen RS Traverse?
No, there are extremely few parts of any kind that carry over from the last gen
Unreliable having a 2.5 litre motor pushing 300+ hp.
Awesome, all new turbo from GM, nothing to worry about there.
GM has several turbo engines in mass production for over a decade. It’s just a smaller version of the 2.7 they use in the Silverado/Colorado pickups.
@@frankiexv4533 theyve improved it over the 2.7 as they fixed all the issues that popped up wiht the truck by reinforcing the cyclinders and many other changes. i think this is going to last 10 years or more with proper maintence.
Past Chevy engines have been really sketchy. Hope this new engine does better.
Hasn’t came to my dealership anyone know when??
It depends on if the dealership orders any to sale. Or you can go and pre-order the one you want
My local dealership already has them
Grand Cherokee 4xe is my overwhelming choice. Even the regular GC with the proven V6 would be second.
Rumor has it that the High Country model will come back next year.
I could see that. The RS is missing some High Country features. Like electric folding rear seats.
@AvgwarhawkVideo the rear seats are power folding
That would be fantastic. I would prefer this in High Country, due to its looks, over the new Acadia Denali, or new Enclave Avenir.
GM will make the GMC version better. But not until later.
GM's idea of better ir way out of step with what most other people would consider to be better
Engine is trash, sounds horrible. Took it for a test drive yesterday and was ready to buy an RS until I drove it. My wife even noticed the same sluggish engine power.
It was Deal breaker. The drive feels like it struggles to speed up to pass cars. Feels like it strains to accelerates. The turbo doesn’t really feel like it helps move it enough considering it’s a large heavy family vehicle. I’d rather go get a v6 or v8. I can only imagine when load up my family and luggage and try going up a mountain. I don’t think I will make it up without sounding like engine is going to blow up.
The RS trim is beautiful and a great deal of technology there but the engine , damn Chevy messed that up. No other option for 2024.
👍🏻👍🏿😳🤔😲
The engine however sounds very coarse and unbecoming of a luxury SUV, the GMC Acadia included.
That's the 4 banger for you lol
The Traverse is not a luxury SUV, and it doesn’t sound coarse at all. Y’all are trying extra hard to find faults here and it’s hilarious.
Kindly review the Skoda Superb 2024
Not available in North America.
I have had 10 chevys over the years and sorry but unless it is a corvette not spending 57k on a chevy...
Agreed
Horrible power plant. Nobody wants a turbo 4
Just got my new kia ev9 for 45k.:)
How?
@@BeekSizl it's the base model with $11k discount.
I do not understand how people are affording 50k suvs... and that is coming from a 200k income. My cars are cheap 2006 toyota matrix, a 2011 legacy and a 2017 outback. Total like 30k
car's are a depreciating asset so people just lease it and keep their money for investing. never buy a car and invest smartly.
if you can't afford 50k vehicle on 200k a year what are you even doing
Too expensive for an american car to be honest.
I wish every company would stop with this double screen nonsense, every car is starting to look the same inside.
I don’t want to keep sounding like a broken record where I’m always comparing my 23 Pilot, but here I go anyway. My Pilot with a naturally aspirated V6 and AWD is rated at 19/25 as opposed to this one with AWD and rated at 19/24 with a turbocharged 4 cylinder. You also say it’s noisy when accelerating. With my Pilot of course the noise levels go up when you’re accelerating but it has a nice husky tone like that of a V8. Also it sounds the same from the outside so there’s nothing being pumped through the speakers. Yes the interior is much more conservative. The only nine inch screen is the worst thing about it and unfortunately the 25 has not corrected it. Still though I’ll keep my Pilot.
This is larger and heavier than the pilot.
Honda people gonna keep buying Hondas. In other news the sky is blue
@@LyionsMountain im a honda guy since 80s and i'm buying the z71. first gm in the family since my moms 90s Z34!!!!
Bring back Apple Carplay.....
Only the electric GM vehicles lose Apple CarPlay so this does have it
@@CarConfections you are correct, they will eventually eliminate apple but thankfully this one still has it...
To answer your question? not with this janky ass four banger with a vacuum cleaner stuck to it
$5,8000 for a small SAV Chevy traverse are you FOOkING kidding me😊 😂 they are charging Lexus Rx prices
It’s much bigger than a rx?
$5800? In for 4.
😂Gregg special!
@@LyionsMountain oh I think it’s bigger than an NX but for 58,000 I could get a Silverado 2500
@@Jfarmerthunder who is this Gregg fellow and why is he so special? 😝
Can you do some Rolls Royce reviews??? You know your gurl needs the best of the best for her phat yams and doesn’t settle for less!!! So c’mon now boo boo let’s get them RR, Bentley and Benz reviews going!!!!!
And chevy swings and misses. The explorer has more features and is equally unreliable for the same price😂
This is massive in comparison to the explorer and much better looking.
@@frankiexv4533 I agree it looks great. But it's missing a lot for a 57k price tag
@@Dellonidas ... meh. This is the very top trim, so yeah the price is ridiculous. A maxed out Explorer will cost about the same. But most normal people are gonna go for the mid trims around $45k-ish. I wouldn't pay over $50k for either, honestly.

When will you release the Z71 video you mentioned?
We've gotten pretty backed up on content but we are trying to get that posted in the next week or so!
bigger wheels actually make the ride more comfortable because it soaks up bumps more sooooo not sure where you guys got that smaller wheels make the ride more comfortable analogy from other than that good video
False. With all else being the same (suspension dynamics), larger wheels (they’re talking about the rim size, btw) on the same vehicle typically mount on lower profile tires (less tire), which most almost always translates to a bumpier/less cushioned ride.
@@georgesyriaque3504 also btw im not talking about those big huge ghetto rims that ghetto gangsters be driving around on size 27 and 30s and whatnot I'm not talking about those big stupid-looking tires I'm talking about these particular tires that be on vehicles like the Tahoes the Suburbans the Lincoln Navigators Vehicles like those I'm talking about those huge 22 inch like tires I'm not talking about the rim size because if there's a very low tire profile then yes it's going to be a bumpy uncomfortable that's common sense I'm not talking about that I'm talking about tires that are nice thick and cushion and good quality the bigger they are the more comfortable the ride for example an SUV that comes standard with 20-in wheels and then this very Chevrolet Traverse with the 22 inch wheels the Chevy Traverse will have a more comfortable ride than the vehicle was the 20-in wheels of course if both of them have a nice thickness with the tires not those low profile ones so thanks for the comment but I know what I'm talking about
wrong. bigger side walls not bigger tires. the traverse z71 will soak up way more bumps then the rough riding rs
