If I’m honest I’ve stopped watching so regularly since Michael stopped being on the show.

Got to admit, the reason i subscribed, was that when Michael was on the show it had something i hadn't seen in other watch channels ... Humor and fun. All other watch channels are stuffy and serious. This channel had a relaxed vibe that made me smile. Analysis is a little to common in the RUclips watch scene. It was fun to relax and smile to Michael and Christian's dynamic, while still learning about watches.
Definitely find myself watching a lot less now, unfortunately.

You kinda nailed it. In fact it was right after I commented about how hilarious and perfect I felt their intro was that Michael left. Christian doing a spit take and Michael making a weird funny gesture, cracked me up and got me ready for a fun back and forth between friends.

Exactly, I think to his point though - Christian is a strong enough host on his own to keep it real and bring me back for content. But what Christian sometimes neglects to acknowledge is that yes, there are SO many YT channels with educational horology content that is concise and professionally filmed. I come to Theo & Harris for a personal sit down with friends to talk watches and to feel "real". I don't think Michael stepping away from the channel has changed anything about the ethos of the brand. I do however find it ironic that Christian repeats his desire to film the "content he wants to film" and still reminds us that it was our comments that impacted the way they wanted to film. I don't know I'm just talking out loud, bottom line is I know how business works and I've been incredibly grateful for the dynamic Anna, Michael, & Sam have all brought to the table and I look forward to see the next level of T&H evolution. - Cal

I think you hit the nail in the head as to why we miss both Michael and Anna. They came across as ordinary people who don't live in the Hamptons, who don't travel to Europe every year, who don't pay three figures for dinner at a restaurant. In other words, they came across as people most of us can relate to. They made Christian come across as more accessible and relatable. Plus, they were both more calm and didn't talk like a 1940s Hollywood actor. They made Christian calm down too, so you could actually understand him without snorting an 8 ball first.
      No offense Christian! ❤

Thanks for this, Christian, I appreciate the candor and the directness, as always!
As one of the people who really appreciated the videos with Michale and who've been left scratching our heads a little since he left, I can say that I have seen your comments (both here and on the Zero, I think) about it, so I eventually understood what happened, but that didn't happen till later (or just didn't reach me, because I don't regularly read all comments on videos), and even so, I was personally thrown by how abruptly and unceremoniously it happened. Maybe this is true for others as well. Perhaps I'm alone with this, but I would've been happy to see a video specifically about this, saying goodbye, reflecting on your history together on the channel etc.
Oh, and a last thing - I definitely didn't mind the banter at all, I thought it was hilarious :D, but I didn't feel like I wasn't informed or educated or that my perspective was not challenged. On the contrary: what I appreciated so much about your videos together was that all of these things happened, plus there was such a great, relaxed, funny, honest and kind atmosphere around it.
That said, I'm definitely hanging around, because I still very much appreciate the unique and interesting perspective you bring to the watch world, I'm excited to see the direction your channel develops in, and I wish you all the very best for this new chapter.

Plus you tend to like watches that are less talked about which is fantastically interesting! 2) Sam is great, hope you still bring him on. It takes time to get calm in front of the camera so the more he is on the better he will be, also he is your mate so enjoy time with your friend. In saying that, you are the core of this channel and I enjoy your solo content, you have the x-factor for content. 3) Please do you when it comes to content, talk about what you want to talk about and own your style. People excel when they are themselves and do what they love! 4) Of course you need ads, this is a job, and you do the adverts well! 5) Michael was great, but you always were the core of this show. I go through ups and downs of being interested in certain things like watches. Unlike you, I don't have to think about watches every day. What brings me back to the channel when I'm not so into watches is the feeling of being with friends. I don't need you to inform me of anything. Hey, it's YOUR channel. You started it. Everyone should respect that. If there was a falling out with some others, then you're going to be the one who stays. Simple as that. That being said, you never allowed Michael to be seen as an equal. Jokes about firing him made me cringe. You only talk about firing an employee when you are ACTUALLY firing him (1099 or W-2 I don't care). But you're young, you have done exceptionally well, but you still have a lot to learn about people...that's normal. You're exceptional in terms of your knowledge and curiosity about horology, and vintage horology in particular. So emphasize that!!!! I believe that THAT is what is best about this channel. Not a couple of guys drinking and joking. I can go to a corner bar and be part of that right now if I want. And yet, nobody asked me for this "sage advice", so I'll take whatever I get, LOL. I just wish you the best....you will go through good times and bad. Knowing your mission and sticking to it is what will drive your ultimate success, independent of people and circumstances.

One of the reasons that I really enjoyed the collaboration between Michael and Christian is because it reminds me of my relationship with my best friend since childhood. I'm more like a "Michael" and my best friend is more like a "Christian".
So yes, I miss the banter between them, but I will still keep watching (and subscribing) because I like Christian; and in another life, I know we would be best friends.

To be fair, Christian. I think most people ask "What happend to Michael" because the channel took on a podcast feel with both information and entertainment. Then, one day Michael is gone and Sam is in without any type of good-bye "episode" or anything of the like. We've always loved the channel but it also felt like T&H as a company was diversifying a bit with both the new podcast feel and what seemed like a partnership between you two and the marketing firm that was mentioned a couple times.

The fact the banter and stroy telling of Christian ans Michael is missed by so many people prove that it was a successful concept. It worked.
However, nothing lasts for ever and people need to try new things.
When C&M do get some time to geek out about watches on camera it will be amazing. In the meantime, we can flick through the back catalogue. 😎

And I'm sure there are tons of us that hope you feel appreciated as well, thank you for answering everything and doing so in the most genuine Christian way, as always!
Michael was fantastic and I hope he can come back for "two friends hanging out talking about watches" segments. I never understood how brutal everyone was to Sam, I personally related most to him, you could tell he was just proud of his Aquascaphe and to be there offering his best. For those of us that a $500 watch is aspirational, he was a dose of reality compared to the mutli-thousand dollar watches that the rest of youtube just portrays as bland or normal.
Finally, keep doing the ads man, who cares and anyone who has been involved in running a business knows the money needs to happen first. Content wont continue to exist without the business being right side up. You have at least 1 person who will keep watching ✌

Haha "I'll never sell a baby" that made me laugh... Christian, I've been watching your videos since you used to make them inside of a Volkswagen and if there is a something in common between those videos and the current ones is your consistent passion and honesty, I've purchased a few watches from you in the past and since we live close you've taken the time to meet up at a local bar with my wife and I so that we can have a discussion about watches over a glass of wine. The truth is that co-hosts will come and go, its the nature of RUclips, you are a good person Christian I appreciate your honesty and will keep watching.

Keep true to your intent... and keep the laughs as well

Personal videos with explaining real situation and feelings from RUclipsrs are usually the best. Only expertises , personal opinions and advertising comes in the long run somehow boring. Especially when the big run for the products is over. I am pretty sure that all the Watch RUclipsrs are - comparing the the past - struggling currently.
Anyway, a legendary issue here 🤙🏼

I started watching Theo & Harris because of you. And I will continue to watch it because of you . I really liked the mix between you and Anna. It was balanced, but it was watch informative. When I first got into the hobby, you were in my top three watch RUclipsrs. When Michael came it really got out of hand and I missed the straight on watch content. On a sidenote. If you’re not wearing that AP Royal Oak, I know somebody who could take it off your hands. 😉

I hate that Sam got drug through the mud so much. I love this channel i loved watching you and Michael banter no matter what happens i think its important to know whatever you’re doing is the right thing, regardless of what other people are saying. You said it yourself, even if it was only 60 people in a class room you still have an audience. If i could wave a wand to get rid of all the shit talking that affects you guys i would. Keep on keepin on with what makes you happy people will hate no matter what unfortunately. Big fan, always will be and hopefully a customer soon 🤘

Michael is excellent, and so is Sam albeit in a different way. I agree that part of the attraction to your page is the clever, funny and informative banter, but I also think nothing ever stays the same and evolution is the only way forward. So, in my opinion, keep being unapologetically you, ignore the trolls and, like any artist or lover of art (which you clearly are) if you conform to what the crowd tells you it wants, you'll lose yourself in the process. I'm a recent subscriber (about four months now) and started watching your channel and other watch enthusiast channels because I finally received my James Cameron "Deep Sea" Sea Dweller after a two year wait, and wanted to be more educated about watches. I loved your work with Michael, and Sam too, but you are the driving force here. While I appreciate this video, I feel badly that you felt you needed to explain yourself to anyone...you don't. Keep on keeping on with the informative and incisive commentary and I hope Michael and Sam, and anyone else you decide to bring on to mix it up with appear occasionally.

I used to like the content and liked Michael as a host. Didn't care for Christian for like 3 years but now I've come around and I'm happy to stay and watch Christian.
He's got a genuine passion and knowledge for watches. He doesn't spend all day talking about the same 8 hyped watches.
Who cared about Cartier and Piaget before you heard about it from Christian?

I genuinely enjoy this channel and the content lately has been great. I did enjoy the banter between you and Mike but I understand that everyone has a path to follow. As for Sam, I honestly never understood why a few were so critical of him. I enjoyed Sams perspective as he took positions that I wouldn’t always consider which can be very helpful and interesting. You are much younger than I and I encourage you to take the criticisms from others with a grain of salt. Keep going you are doing great! Thank you for taking the time to create interesting content.
