When you compare yoga with gym..I would say choose yoga as it's environmental friendly..in gym you need a treadmill to walk or run... your body is the property in yoga

Namaste, any forward bending asanas as well as inverted poses such as savangsana, halasana etc. As they both put strain or pressure on the neck where the vertebrae get closer, these asanas will cause in further compression of the nerve roots, causing more pain.
