I play this video almost everyday and have to fight back tears of JOY. And SADNESS. My dad who has passed. Took me to the Photon center. In wildwood nj. And when they opened one in Baltimore md. Either on top deck firing at the Green and Red helmets that ran around in the zone. Or playing myself. This music was a STAPLE to my childhood. From the bottom of my 🖤 Thank you for posting this. I wish a billionaire or millionaire who instead of wasting money on bull. Would bring these back
The production and feel of this audio track with the dim lighting and glowing fade when my parents brought me upstairs to shoot for 25 cents after Showbiz (Chuckie Cheese now).... The ultimate memory. I was IN the scifi movie... Its smells come back to me sometimes.
I have all 8 tracks ripped from a franchise compact disc. Let me know if you want them . I've also got scans of official maps, brochures and badges I was a regular at the Fountain Valley in Orange County, California. It turned into a Comp USA from what I remember. The only other Photon center I visited was in Oklahoma City, OK.
I would LOVE to have all 8 of the tracks! I used to beg the people who worked at the Baltimore, MD location to tell me where I could get the music. They gave me all sorts of incorrect information about where to find the music. I have been wanting to hear the tracks again for so long. I used to play at Baltimore and in Ocean City, Maryland all of the time.
Here ya go. 8 songs off a franchise CD, a bunch of pictures, Scans of various Photon articles, abstracts of the documents from the patent office, Helmet sounds, A short quicktime of a commercial, An old Doom wad of a photon map someone made, and I think an old Windows 98 Photon theme. I had these stowed away on an old harddrive and almost completely forgot about them. In the credit.txt are the people responsible for putting it all together. Don't forget to thank them if you run into them www.dropbox.com/sh/k3cpp7vom4qmkt7/491nAxDfvZ In 1996-1997 I made contact with Jim Strothers whom bought the trademark rights to original Photon and tried to resurrect Photon using the original photon system re-adapted with modern day technology during the time. He successfully reopened a franchise in Broken Arrow, OK. But unfortunately it closed maybe a few months later maybe due to unforeseen circumstances. I remember we used to use this stuff called "Flavor Fog" in the arena. Normally we used strawberry. One time the manager accidentally bought Pina Colada. The arena smelled like coconuts for a week!
Thank you for posting this. I first played in Baton Rouge. Later to play in Houston and, finally, in Charolette, NC. The last time was in the spring of 1988 and I took 2 of my students (I taught math at Asheville High and was the tennis coach) after they washed out at the state tennis tourney in Chapel Hill to Charolette to play. Photon definitely washed the blues away. Sadly, as we all know, it is no more.; but it left some great memories.
I once came down the ramp full speed and plowed into a guy. He went flying and I tumbled on top of him. We both said sorry to each other then got back up and ran in opposite directions! No harm no foul!
I was on a Photon team in Tulsa, Oklahoma where we traveled to different locations to take on the best photon teams from different cities. I was 11 years old maybe but I was one of the best in the country at this game and was the only player on our "select" team under 18 years old. I remember the different zones and code names for those zones and the competitiveness. I had all of the achievement pins you could receive. I think one was called the "gamma" pin, which was maybe the highest achievement if I remember right. My code name was "Garfield". I still remember the layout/map of the arena like the back of my hand. I also remember the techniques to dodge head shots and shield the chest sensor. I'm not a gun guy but recently got a concealed carry license. During the shooting exercise the instructors where amazed at my accuracy and speed. I give the credit to Photon! This soundtrack really brings back memories.
I remember saying this as we knew this and yelling all the way down the back part. Me, as Darkrider, and Hope, as Tempest, at the Dallas Photon scared many people when we did this. We were Wolf clan.

This takes me back. Played a lot in El Paso when I was stationed at Fort Bliss. Then in Tempe when I was on leave. Sad to see it all gone. The Tempe location was huge, while El Paso was small. I loved every minute!
OMG! I used to work at the arena in Cincinnati back in '87. What a fun job that was, even in the silver uniforms we had to wear. I had all 8 tracks burned to a CD-R but it has since degraded to the point of non-listenable.
PIT (Photon in Toronto) Crew member here. We had both Alpha and Omega fields...including 2 field FFA where the doors were opened and we could run between both fields.
There was 10 tracks in all I had all of them on tape and transfered them to MP3 on my computer, yes there were 8 regular tracks but there was also 2 hidden tracks. I'll have to see where they are.
Man! Those were the days! I always enjoyed going to the Photon Center in L.A. Got a good workout and my marksman skills improved! Codename: ZaxxonIn The Zone!!
Did anyone else's location have a mural kinda like megaman on the side of the building? VB dob 85', my parents took me to Showbiz across the street. I was 5. Sick times. Bayeville Park vert ramp spectators and Grey cement block stompers!!!
I played at the Tempe Arizona location. If I remember correctly, our was just just a plain beige building from the outside with your typical lit up laser quest lettering.

The memories holy shit... those that know, know.
Watching a recent Phocon interview, they mentioned that the scifi atmospheric music was played from the entrance... It worked.
Ok, That gave me goosebumps as the memories came rushing back...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Photon Virginia Beach! I was blown away as a kid seeing the arena.
The mural and Showbiz. Good times as a 5 year old0
Dude it was so sick
I played in VB but I really sucked.

Thank you so much! This is the best Christmas present ever! ;)
I would love to have everything you have. I played on the very first Alpha field in Mesquite TX. Spent too much money and time there.
+prior242 what was your code name?
Wow. Flooded by awesome memories of contests in the Sterling Heights,Michigan arena❤❤❤
I played at the Tempe Arizona location. Played almost every weekend as well as league nights.
ahhhh. Palatine in the late 80's here. I can almost smell the fog machines and hear the Wang Chung
Palatine was where I played. Still have my ID.
I remember we used to use this stuff called "Flavor Fog" in the arena. Normally we used strawberry. One time the manager accidentally bought Pina Colada. The arena smelled like coconuts for a week!
That's awesome. Always wondered why it smelled so sweet
Photon shoveling in vape smoke before it was a thing.
FYI - I finally found my copy of all the tracks from Photon. If anyone wants them let me know!

Wow!! Thanks for sharing! I miss this so much. If I ever win big lottery I'd like to bring this back!
Yes this was track 1. It was played generally on all regular games. I had all the tracks at one time, but over the ages only this one survives.
This would be such a sick niche release
My brother and I LOVED going to Photon in Toronto. He even injured a tooth running into someone's battery pack. Good times.
Yes. Real shit. Some dude hit me willingly with a gun

So many memories of playing this in Tempe back in '89. Thanks so much for posting this.
What awesome memories! "DNA" from Kenilworth, NJ
+JimMelissa Keen I used to play up at that location too. Almost every Friday night was a trip up from Mt. Laurel.
I remember saying this as we knew this and yelling all the way down the back part. Me, as Darkrider, and Hope, as Tempest, at the Dallas Photon scared many people when we did this. We were Wolf clan.
Sorry that was Wolfriders.
Thank you so much for posting this. I played at the one in the Tri-County Mall area of Cincinnati, OH. It was pure magic.

Same here!
My brain is on fire from the nostalgia. I heard this so many times.

My friend slipped in a huge pile of vomit while playing Photon in Virginia Beach
🤣 Once I was running down the ramp full speed and plowed into linebacker at the bottom. Helmet and gun went flyin!
This is the most VB story ever!
This takes me back. Played a lot in El Paso when I was stationed at Fort Bliss. Then in Tempe when I was on leave. Sad to see it all gone. The Tempe location was huge, while El Paso was small. I loved every minute!
I played there all the time. Dunno if you remember 'GreyFox' or 'MiamiMice' - those were my aliases there in El Paso. ;)
Hearing this music makes me smell that smoke...oh to be twelve again and running around in there.
Smelling cigarette smoke like a bowling alley. Being greeted by the sci fi music.
OMG! I used to work at the arena in Cincinnati back in '87. What a fun job that was, even in the silver uniforms we had to wear. I had all 8 tracks burned to a CD-R but it has since degraded to the point of non-listenable.
Michael Wildridge Cincinnati Ohio

The best job I ever had was when I worked as the Assistant Manager at the Photon in Oklahoma City

So many memories of the Fountain Valley arena coming back. The Expert league games, Black Legion and the late night gaming sessions at CoCo's.
