Streamlight's TLR-7 series is now available with high-lumens, multi-fuel, USB rechargeable! The TLR-7 HL-X produces 1000 lumens on high when using a SL-B9 battery. It is multi-fuel and accepts either Streamlight's SL-B9 rechargeable protected lithium-ion battery pack or a CR123A lithium battery. It features a rear switch in a high or low option (both switches are included). The light has a low profile design and a "safe off" feature which will help to save your batteries by preventing accidental activation. The light easily and quickly mount to a wide range of full-size as well as compact handguns. Available in black or Flat Dark Earth.

With the 7A and the cap can I still switch between 500 lumens to 1000 lumens?

The 7A body is supposedly only rated for 3v batteries (CR123A) and the new HL-X is rated for the higher voltage SL-B9 (3.6v) rechargeable batteries.

The increase in candela is the bigger benefit than the increase in lumens.
