This is probably the best handgun light review video I've ever seen. Good job, guys.
Thanks much for your positive feedback! We have the equipment and are working to produce a bunch of videos and reviews to help the community.
100% agree, outstanding review!
Absolutely I agree. Outstanding and educational review.
Where have you been all these years!
Definitely a solid review.
Only 3 minutes in and this is already the most useful weapon light comparison I've ever seen. Subscribed.
Damn, an integrating sphere, graph of light output over time, candela testing at angles, and spectrum analysis? What's next, a CRI and DUV reading? You guys went all out! Major props for this high quality video.
Aw man... I'm missing some readings! Now I'm off researching CRI and DUV. :) Hey thanks for the feedback! We have more content in the works, so keep watching.
@@WerkzHolsters The flashlight nerd in me just had to :). CRI stands for color rendering index, which a bit hard to explain but is essentially how faithful the colors are to natural (sun) lighting. Average LED's are around 70 or lower DUV is how far above or below the black body line the light is, meaning it will have a more green or rosy tint respectively. Both are pretty irrelevant to weapon lights. Great job with the video and look forward to more.
@@BILLYBOBJohnson-kj2zd Thanks for the summary! So no value in measuring CRI or DUV? We covered with light temp & spectrometer?
@@WerkzHolsters I'd say CRI and DUV are pretty irrelevant to WML's because DUV is arguably subjective (some people prefer more neutral, some prefer rosy, etc) and emitters which prioritize hi CRI tend to sacrifice some efficiency, so they produce less lumens and candela than their hi-cri counterparts. The Osram LED emitters used in the Modlite OKW, for example, are pretty low CRI and blue at around 6000k color temp. I don't know what emitter the XSC and TLR7-sub use, but most likely a 90+ CRI emitter of similar size would not produce as many lumens & candela. Also since there aren't any hi-CRI WML's I know of, measuring it doesn't make a ton of sense. Just my 2c.
@@BILLYBOBJohnson-kj2zd Excellent feedback. If you have a few minutes to chat, send customer service (products@werkz.com) an email stating that Shan requested to talk with you and we can set up a time to talk.
Just wanted to congratulate you on how professional your approach is. An objective, technical and unbiased review. Perfect.
Thank you for your positive feedback!
I like the more compact size and switch shape of the XSC, but the Streamlight is superior in just about every other way. The Streamlight is brighter, longer running, uses industry standard batteries that are easier to change without un-mounting it, rugged, and half the price of the SF.
TLR7 has strobing as well, I don’t believe the XSC does
Awesome unbiased comparison. Absolutely top tier. The simple fact that the Surefire doesn’t come with 2 batteries for the ridiculous $300+ price tag tells a lot.
Great presentation, your approach to testing is just what I’ve been looking for.
I agree, great and very professional presentation. Many reviews on RUclips have me constantly pressing the fast forward trying to find anything resembling the title. Many reviewers need to get some pointers from you. Thank you!
Thanks for the positive feedback! More reviews coming!
Amazing video! Hit all “need to know” bullet points in a professional, informative, and objective format. Bravo!
Awesome review. Thanks for taking the time to do this. I'm tempted to try one of your holsters just because you were so thorough in this review!
I agree with most of the previous comments. This is a great comparison and the best test, of a weapons light, that I've seen. Thank you for taking the time to put out such a thorough and comprehensive video.
This is one of the most comprehensive, clear, and concise product reviews/comparisons I have ever seen. Earned a sub.
Thanks! Lots more content of this type up, with more coming!
Excellent video. Very thorough and professional. I ordered a P365XL and couldnt find anywhere the specific brand/model light for it, until this video! Thumbs high up!
Definitely confirms my choice of the tlr sub to be the best option for me. Greatly appreciate the detailed fair and unbiased comparison.
This has to be one of the most impressive product reviews I've ever seen on here. Very concise, purely objective; some of the more recent firearm reviewers feel like an infomercial. This review on the other hand, very well done. Subscribing
Thanks Marshall! My intent is for us to be objective and provide lab-grade data on which people can make decisions. We have a bunch of content in the pipeline!
Loved how you guys were able to accurately measure light output. Never seen that in a review. Well done
Thanks much Andrew! We knew there had to be a better way... and it turns out that there is lab equipment to do just that!
Great review. No fluff, just good solid info and comparisons with a bonus of actual data.
These are amazing comparison videos with practical tests. Keep the content coming!
John, thanks for the encouragement! New video is dropping tomorrow...stay tuned!
Man where the hell has this channel been hiding, and why isn’t anyone else doing these tests?!?! This the second comparison/review I’ve seen in as many days that have really impressed me. Subscribed now.
Thanks for your positive feedback! We have also uploaded our new video on full size lights.
This channel is so good, you guys put out some high quality content. I came across your company a few weeks ago looking for a holster. Almost nobody makes an iwb for G19x with Olight PL-3R. Ill be picking up an M6 next paycheck and from the reviews ive seen and people I’ve talked to i know im going to be very happy with my purchase. I just got into the WML game and really enjoy the performance and rechargeability of the Valkyrie PL-3R.
Excellent video. The TLR7sub can't really be beat unless you want something super compact, then get the XSC. I'm working on getting a P365XL and the TLR7sub is a perfect candidate for it, and the added bonus of the light extending past the muzzle to act also as a standoff device as well.
Holy crap. I feel I’ve seen every gun and gear review channel on RUclips. No idea how I’m JUST stumbling across this channel on accident. TOP. TIER. REVIEW.
No bs, straight data and to the point. Presenter was amazing. I LOVE my TLR-1HL on my P226, looks like I’ll be getting a TLR-7sub for my new 365xl AND one of these holsters.
Color me impressed and subscribed
Matthew, thanks for the positive feedback! We have a bunch of testing in this space queued up, so keep on watching!
Ditto
Amazing review! First of its kind that I’ve seen. Looks like I’m getting the TLR-7 sub
fantastically useful review, thank you guys for putting out quality data and keeping the fluff to a minimum!
Thanks for the feedback! That is my intent -- get you decent data that isn't available anywhere else.
@@WerkzHolsters most practical and useful weapon light review I've ever seen. Great analysis, no BS, using actual relevent scenarios and performamce data. Great job.
@@semajniffirg230 Thanks JG!
Another awesome review. Just got a XL so thanks for confirming my choice!
Insanely comprehensive review. Great job and we appreciate it.
Thank you!
I've had the streamlight TLR-7 Sub since it came out and it continues to impress. Very well built and and extremely good performer.
Great light! We sell a lot more TLR-7 Sub holsters over XSC holsters...
At the 3 minutes mark I came down to like and leave a comment and I see the top two comments are my thoughts exactly. Excellent video. I'll be looking through your other stuff as a result.
Without question the best light reviews out there. Great work.
This was awesome! I love the presentation.
Thanks so much for the feedback! We'll be making more videos like this in the future... for other lights.
Put the stream in my 365legion. Love it, thank you for the work done here.
Keep this presenter and keep up the INCREDIBLE work. No rambling, no unnecessary commentary. God this was a perfect video. The only thing is probably suggest is a little more emphasis on types of holsters that would be compatible with these lights or whatever future products you are presenting. Currently I'm researching for a good light for my glovk43x besides a TLR-6 ( which I already have) but I'm stressing about finding another holster that will accommodate that light, the rail needed for the nose MOS 43x and a compensator
Thanks for the positive encouragement and the constructive feedback!
thank you for a great and informative video, have the p365 and just purchased the xl, these two lights will be on my radar for sure!
Thanks for the positive feedback Ron!
Seriously LOVE LOVE LOVE my 365xl. I do happen to shoot the comparative glock model (can't remember the # designation) slightly better due to the wider grip but the xl carries SO well and I find the nice flat trigger to be more than usable. I took to wrapping the grip in a bit of that foam medical bandage wrap stuff they put on you when you get blood drawn to fatten it up and it helps it fill the hand a bit better and shoot just as well as the glock.
An objective and thorough comparison. Well-done.
Incredible review. Hit all the boxes I wanted to see and some I didn't know I wanted to see; such as testing illumination on a person. Just ordered a holster for the p365XL + TLR-7 sub. Wish I would have found you sooner, as I've been looking for a holster option without a magazine sidecar for some time now.
Cory, thanks so much for the positive feedback. We are working to provide some of the best low-light videos and information available.
TLR-7 for my P365XL. And I will be ordering my EDC holster from you soon. Really enjoy the the IWB you made for my G48 MOS. Thanks for the great comparison review!
Thanks for letting us serve your needs, and thanks for the positive feedback!
Really appreciate this review. Thank you
Great video and information - definitely helped with my next purchase. Thank you.
Fantastic data and observations. Good work.
Incredibly good video, thank you. I'll be buying one of your holsters for sure
Thanks so much for the positive feedback! We are hoping that thorough, unbiased, and quantifiable light reviews will help people choose what is right for their needs.
This was a great video! Very informative for what I was looking for. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
wow such an honest and thorough review. amazing job. i’m about to see what else is on the channel i may be subscribing
Thanks much! It's our way to give back to the firearms community!
Streamlight completely kicked ass. I just ordered it for $140
i just got mine a couple days ago on amazon for 130
@@zevo9314 that's where I got it. 140 after sales tax.
Excellent review. I sold Surefire & Streetlight for 15 years & learned more in 10 minutes than any of my reps ever taught...
Well thank you for that feedback!
Best comparison videos I've seen in a long time.
Really great info. Thanks for the vid.
Great review, best I've seen.
Man, you guys do a great job with these reviews!
Thank you! More content is in the werkz!
Outstanding video. The best review Ive ever seen!
Fantastic review, thank you!
Wow. Truly excellent video. Amazing job! Thank you.
Very informative and interesting video, thank you very much!
Incredible review. Very well done!
Fantastic video! I'm definitely leaning towards the TLR-7 sub. 👍
Very impressive. Thank you for your experiences and the knowledge you share with us
Thank you for your encouragement!
This is a top tier comparison, thank you for the effort and work that went into making it.
If this was a Surefire to Olight comparison where olight came out on top I’d still buy the Surefire. SF’s reputation for durability is well earned and they’re CS is industry leading.
Streamlight is also a very good company that makes high quality products at an easier to swallow price. Kudos to them and I think that you’ve sold a lot of lights for them with this video.
Thanks for the feedback! I personally changed from running the X300U-B to the TLR-1HL after running this comparison. We have plenty more tests planned, so stay tuned, and let us know if you have any specific feedback on what you would like to see tested.
@@WerkzHolsters
Will do, thank you.
Subscribing and looking forward to seeing what you post next.
So instead of acknowledging that the other light did better in every aspect, you want to buy the other for the brand. Ok dude it’s your money
@@zadotterazo690 Performance over a short period of time for steamlight is better. However, a surefire lasts forever, and if it doesn't, you have a lifetime guarantee. There were two guys that retired from my job and were still carrying their Surefire Laser Products 6P around on patrol after 20-25 years. My stinger didn't last three.
Wow great scientifically comparison. We need more comparison like this on youtube. Thank you!
Surefire XSC is insanely overpriced... comparing them just to have an idea of how they stack up if fine, but the sub is going to be the logical choice.
Especially if you have a XL the TLR7 sub fits damn near perfect on it
Everything surefire sells is overpriced. I trust my life with streamlight.
I hear that
Agreed that surefire is much more expensive comparatively, I do actually prefer the xsc on both my sig and Glock. Just seems to be more comfortable working it and the smaller pocket in the holsters I have from werkz. Plus I prefer the battery situation. I do have the regular tlr7 on my walther. Just depends on what you like.
@@Mr.Mikey.Holiday but the x300u is the standard for high performance pistol lights. A tlr1 hl doesn’t hold a candle to it, and now with the turbo, you can literally see why you’re paying double for the surefire over the streamlight. Surefire full size pistol lights are phenomenal and are the standard for duty. Modlite is a great contender and cloud will be in the mix as well. Streamlight doesn’t have a comparable option yet. We’re in the middle of a lumens and candela war right now. That being said, xsc was a complete flop and a joke.
yeah this was crazy thorough, which is the best way to be. instant sub
Great video, thanks for the work you guys put in on this comparison. I’m happy I waited for the TLR7 sub. I’m running your holster on my 43xMOS after a trim from the 48 footprint down to the 43 I’m loving it.
Love my 43x mos . Just got my 4 s15 mags couple weeks ago
Thanks for the feedback! We are working to put together some of the best data available on lights. And thanks for running our gear!
@@WerkzHolsters thanks for a quality holster. Love my M6 for my 19x . Also added an extra mag carrier to it. My only complaint is that you guys don't offer a holster with a sidecar
Tim, that's great feedback. Yes, the Radius Mag carrier is a bit different than sidecar holsters, but performs a similar function. We've considered a dedicated AIWB design with the mag carrier. Your feedback helps influence us on where we go in the future!
If you guys would get a sidecar style holster with the tlr7-sub youd have my business over t1c. Just saying
Best and very detailed review. Thank you
Thanks much! We also recently posted a review of the Sub versus the Olight Baldr S versus the Sig Foxtrot2... all mounted on a P365 XMacro.
Great video for the p365. I agree so far you got the other reviews beat hands down. Tip of the cap to you sir.
Never regretted a Streamlight purchase. Everyone of my light bearing firearms has one, from sub-compact pistol to rifle.
My surefire lights definitely have outlasted my steamlight lights. I was issued a stinger when I started as a police officer and that thing only worked for about an hour after two years. Switched to surefire and never looked back.
@@chuck0624ify I still have my first Stream light. I bought it in 94.
Well done video! Informative in all categories
Thanks!
Fantastic review. Thank you.
awesome tests!!!
Thanks much! Look for more to come!
I appreciate their information and approach to sharing it. So many videos out their lack good measurements and feel very subjective. Well done. Personally I’m in the TLR camp. Seems great for the money. Could even run rechargeable batteries in it and not be as limited as the surefire. Plus the cost…
Thanks for sharing your feedback and take on the lights!
Awesome work!
Excellent review. Don't forget that there are rechargeable CR123A batteries readily available, so you can always have a supply of fully charged batteries for the TLR-7sub.
You are not wrong, but Streamlight for whatever reason, does not recommend them, and I believe it will void the warranty with the TLR7 Sub. I just ordered my TLR7 Sub, so I'm not a fan boy of SF, just letting you know.... I was thinking the same as you and tried looking it up, and I believe that Info. was from Mr. Gunsngear
Couldn't see why it would void the warranty, but you may be right.
I have a Tactical police flashlight with the larger sized cr123 doubled Rechargeable) to replace the double set. It has amazingky lasted heavily used over 15 years and still using it with 650 lumens light output.
Seems companies don't seem to be fans of Rechargeable batteries for high output type devices light lights etc due to quicker loss of output over the typical desired power and life.
They may feel they'd get more poor reviews and returns when people put Rechargeables in them.
Also their are various Rechargeable with mixed results and actual quality issues and performers in that market that also could skew capability and premature working performance.
Makes sense they would discourage rechargeableas.
Also given these only use one of the smaller single cr123 battery in 5he TLR unlike the one I use mentioned above, where I replaced (actually at the show where I purchased it, they sold me the double sized to replace the 2 batteries the Tactical light called for.
This vid is fantastic. Would love to see other flashlight comparisons
We are always working on light content... stay tuned for more!
Fenomenal! Great job! Tnks for the video
Great video. Just what I needed
Glad it helped!
Extremely high quality video!
Excellent review
Awesome review. Exactly something I would have loved to have seen before I made my purchase. I'm still happy with my decision, but this should be super informative for others
We are hoping that this can help people make an informed decision. I can see reasons to run either of these lights.
Excellent video! Can't wait for more content.
Working on it!
Real good data. Keep it up what the consumer needs.
That's the plan, Lord willing! I have a bunch of material in production, so stay tuned.
Great comparison !!!
Great video!
Great work up! Thank you
Tlr7-sub is very nice looking and performs amazing for the price! Got it on the edc and it feels comfortable! I definitely recommend it!
They make awesome holsters that feel like they index off of the light and the gun for a great lock up. The sub is impressive, tlr-7 power in smaller package for the same money. You can’t go wrong. The competition is that new Baldr S and it’s 800 lumens with same footprint as the Baldr Mini. Same bright green laser in the light too, rechargeable lights are amazing!
Excellent feedback Joe, thanks. We are making holsters for the Baldr S, and those will be available with the Baldr S launch. However, the Baldr S is somewhat larger than the Baldr Mini; I would say the Baldr S is between a compact and full size light. I don't think it's a great match for the subcompact pistols., and it doesn't fit properly on the factory P365 frame. I do wonder if Olight will be working on a light for subcompact pistols with proprietary rails (P365 / G43xMOS)...
Such an amazing review. Man this is insane! Surefire or Streamlight should consider to hiring this man 😂
phenomenal review. Thanks!
Thanks much! We have a lot more content, including our latest "top light" video that had the TLR-7A, TLR-7Sub, XSC, among other lights.
EXCELLENT! You have got to get this video "out there" to the P365 owners - maybe hire a different Search engine expert to get more hits. Once owners see this they will want a light bearing holster to match and then you make the sell. Its a total Win-Win
Great work!
Clear, Concise, and non-bias real world testing and possible applicable scenario. All under 10 minutes. Great Video. I feel like Surefire is starting to be like Apple, Charge more for less just because they can and their name.
Thanks for your feedback! I want all our light review or comparison videos to be fair, unbiased, and use data to come to conclusions.
Great review.. thank you!
My pleasure!
Awesome video!,
Hey u need do more testing! Great job!
I'll definitely be getting the TLR7 Sub when I pick up a Sig 365xl. I love my TLR1 HLs I have on my Glock 19 and M&P 2.0
I think that's a solid choice.
Great reviews brother.
Thanks for the positive feedback!
@@WerkzHolsters Yeah, I keep looking up videos and your channel has been there with the information. I appreciate that. Much Love.
Awesome review man.
Thank much!
I found this video about a year late! LOL None the less I really like your presentation because I went back and forth on these lights before buying. I have been running the XSC for almost two years. I bought several extra batteries just in case as well. At the time both lights were really hard to come by. The TLR wasn't to be found yet when I had already bought the XSC. That said the XSC is in my opinion fine for conceal carry. In that regard 10 minutes is plenty for concealed carry. I also always carry another light source as well. If someone needs to change a tire in the dark I don't want to be waiving my pistol around. That said to me the run time difference is generally a non issue at least for my purposes. That said I am more than willing to learn about situations where a longer run time would be beneficial. I also would like to try the TLR7's switches to see if I prefer them or not.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I like having extra time for longer searching or having to hold someone after searching. Good on you for carrying an extra utility / defensive light. Blessings!
@@WerkzHolsters Update: I bought a TLR-7 Sub on a whim. After doing a head to head comparison on my own to me I plan to switch to the Streamlight. My comparison has nothing to do with lumens or light output, but rather that the Streamlight has a lot better ergonomics. Basically I feel like I have a lot better control over light activation with the Streamlight without compromising my grip. I also really like the tactile buttons on the Streamlight over the Surefire. For me all the other 'pros' are good, but not really a tie breaker. The controls though--that to me is huge.
Thank you!
Been waiting for this.
Amazing light review! Please do cloud defensive owl. Definitely subbing
I think the OWL should definitely be on our lab looks!
Very well done and informative video.
Thanks!
