    I remember reading that Zack de la Rocha, around the time of his departure when he was asked why, he was quoted as saying something to the effect of "You can't stay angry forever".

    • @Bootersandbeans
      @Bootersandbeans 4 года назад +4

      @Phil McCrevice I was born in '82 and the term is not incorrect. Also, he is correct that getting your music heard back then was no different than going into a Books A Million and finding a Noam Chomsky book. It is not that they were making money, it was how they used the money that mattered.

    • @brianwhitley2609
      @brianwhitley2609 4 года назад +14

      The point I was trying to get across was in the early 90s the only way for people to hear your music was the underground tape and CD trade or on the radio. So if you wanted to make music for a living you had to be part of something the machine or whatever you want to call it. So if you don't want to be part of the music industry machine you can still work at McDonald's and put your music on the internet now and good luck traveling, keeping your nine to five,and getting your music in front of people. All us musicians go trough the same thing, if you want to travel and play your music to people you're going to be poor that's just a fact of life.

They either realize that they don’t know what they’re talking about or they lose steam as reality sets in and they run out of things to say. Rage will only get you so far before your throat starts to hurt. Once you shut up and have a moment to think you realize that nothing you’re saying is true.

Communism and socialism have killed hundreds of millions, so there is that, reference: Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Vietnam, North Korea, etc.......so there is that. I would rather live boldly on my feet in a capitalist society than be kept dogs as with socialism and communism, just a personal preference I guess, not so much with you though, huh.

    This is why I ALWAYS respected Fugazi 1,000,000 times more than Rage. they had a similar message, But Fugazi wasn't about the $$$. And the fact that 25% of the people reading this comment have probably never heard Fugazi (let alone seen them live) Makes me love them all the more.
    I saw both bands in Hawaii in 1995. Fugazi tickets cost 6.00 and the show blew my mind. Rage was 13.50 and it was a good show but not amazing by any stretch. Over the years Fugazi kept the ticket prices low, and the Ethos pure, and Rage... Well we all know happened there.

If we all had this awareness this system wouldnt last the year out, and it's not about destruction but using creative intelligence and collective activity to reward ourselves by freely collectively building a world worth living in, a dream world... But being myself someone who blew out my engine in the rage fight screamo-ing, it was something that needed to happen because it unlocked things in myself that were broken the wrong way before, cursed, now fixed, it was part of the plan, all the raging, but that is not all our lives are about

Instead Rage put on a good show and talked a bunch of shit about George W.

But after really paying attention to the politics I realize they weren't raging against the machine, they were raging towards a fascist communist socialist amalgamation. @@ripandshare9652 those are both extremely oxymoronic double think philosophies.anarchy is the total lack of government. Communism is the government in complete in total control of everything. Same thing with saying a libertarian socialist. These ideas have been pushed on to the youth to make them think there's some sort of sense. Really they're all just systems of oppression and control. Communism fascism socialism all just different tools to achieve the same goals. All invented by the same people and utilized in different areas with different people with different cultures. In the end all these systems are just tools to achieve their one world government system which will be a totalitarian top-down control system with very small elite at the top and everyone else as slaves every single aspect of every single person's life will be completely totally monitored controlled tracked traced etc. China is basically the model for this that they want to bring across the whole planet. All these other bullshit ideologies are just tools to get their useful idiots to help them bring in their one world government. The champagne socialists are the worst.little rich kids going to the most elite schools and claiming they want socialism and communism. the only reason they say this is cuz they think they'll be part of the ruling class above everyone else as their little slaves. They walk around with Che Guevara shirts. Knowing the guy was a racist communist murdering scumbag you should look at what he said about the natives Mexicans and blacks. No system with top-down government control is for the people. All these other so-called revolutions except the American revolution led to tyrannical control. Guillotines for everyone who didn't want to go along with it in the French revolution for an example. If you want to live free you should hope for a small government constitutional representative republic. That's what we're meant to be but aspects of Communism socialism and fascism have weaved their way into our system and are preparing to destroy it completely.

    • @dan-rl6fb
      @dan-rl6fb 4 года назад

      You realize communism is an umbrella term, right? Communism calls for the abolishment of state, class, and money, but historically, the most notable instances of attempts to implement communism have your marxists/leninists/maoists i.e. authoritarian leftists seizing power with either full belief in proletarian dictatorship or the idea that their ruler-ship would fade over time as they transitioned into communism (spoiler alert: they clung to their power and no country has ever achieved a fully socialist or a fully communist state). The term "communism" doesn't inherently speak to an authoritarian system. If you want to know about anarcho-communism, anarcho-syndicalism, and/or anti-capitalist libertarian leftist movements in general, you could look into revolutionary catalonia, makhnovia, the shinmin prefecture, the strandzha commune, the paris commune, and/or the rebel zapatista autonomous municipalities. Of course, most instances were violently squashed by the government, before ever truly reaching socialism or communism.
