It’s 2008 but I could swear it’s like 1999? Lol
She makes everything seem vintage
If you search around on youtube and see all the videos from 2008 they all have this quality.
@@ericcurrie1907 cameras werent very good in 2008
seems very 2008 to me haha
No.. it's 2008
She wrote old money to reminisce about her times in this trailer park. When people accused her of lying about not having money when she truly had nothing because she was trying to gain independence from her parents. It’s not that she didn’t have a good relationship with them, she mentions her fathers love being strong and her mom being an inspiration to her yet she still “felt alone”, so she carved her own path and left them behind. But coming from “old money” was like a curse and it followed her around making it almost impossible to find this freedom she always seeked. In the song she also mentions the blue hydrangea, the white sunshine meaning the sun that shined over the white trailers, the small children, and most importantly, Jim. The fact that this interview shows all of that truly shows how authentic Lana is to her music. She’s not putting up an act, it’s not a character, it’s literally her life. And that’s why her songs hit so strong in the heart, because we’re experiencing someone’s life through melodies
why does this not have more likes you literally just perfectly explained old money omg
the term ‘old money’ means you’ve inherited wealth though, so how does that fit
@@rubyluisa1756 you’re not paying attention. She comes from money, her parents had money. I’m saying she never wanted that money or rep, she wanted to carve a path of her own and make her own wealth through her art. But the term old money always haunted her bc she can’t escape her family’s wealth and name. Especially when she first started, the tabloids wouldn’t let her move past that
@@rubyluisa1756 i meant the song, not the actual phrase, as in lana reminiscing about her time at the trailer park and having not a lot of money, but people accusing her of lying because she grew up wealthy {old money}
What about the heroin song?
She's so weird and nervous. I fucking love her.
You can see all the references to her music in this interview, I’m in love with it
The ivy, pink lemonade, flamingoes, Jim, 7/11, I love it
the blue hydrangea !
Yeah, its awesome

Ela Nebula she always sings about Jim and people assume she’s being fictitious or singing about Jim Morrison but maybe she was singing about an actual Jim
when she said "blue hydrangea" my heart did a thing

shes referring to jim morrsion (the lead singer from the doors)
interesting character. she seems like a sweet damsel from a classy 1930s family, somehow in a trailer park in 2008. slightly away with the fairies but also very with it. innocent yet clearly there's a thrill -seeking streak. a ray of sunshine with a hint of melancholy. measured but free.
Bee then I’m wondering why the fuck you’re even here. She hasn’t changed a bit, you’re just reaching because you find it unbelievable how someone could be the way that she is for some reason.
Bee I agree, unfortunately. Wish I didn’t but I think your right
Bee if you listen to her old unreleased songs from Lana Del RAy(not Rey) aka Lizzy Grant, “May Jailer”(albums) etc, you could hear the same theme going through her lyrics, she isnt fabricated by someone, she documented her life.
@@kassyC1 "she hasn't changed a bit" pLEASE💀
Bee - don’t be jealous just cuz ur not as interesting. It’s called being influenced by people you’ve admired, who bring out parts of yourself that would’ve otherwise remained hidden.
I wonder if lana still feels like this lana
Aline Khoury lol, of course. Lana was just a sweetheart. No wonder they called her the sweetest girl in town, gosh she was something special. Feminine icon.
Lavania Del Rey feminine icon? wtf no she's just a God stop bringing your stupid gender roles up

She is so pure and authentic
“Its the closest trailer park to Manhattan”
I can’t put into words how much I feel her strive for fame and trying to be a artist. She has such a kind and fun heart.
Her Manhattan suite was in the heart of Manhattan during this time, as well! 💞
❤
You didn’t find that a littttle too phony baloney? 🤨
@@KCCrews-ck8zm no, but to each their own yk? I could see why someone would think that
This video has an interesting background story. Brea tremblay the then young reporter was very nervous interviewing our soon-to-be famous Lana. Both looking cute.
Omg she mentions bill and jim like in her songs
Chateau Marmont Princess what song
Leo Mendez Literally many songs.
@@rodrigop1474 ı heard that jim is jim beam which is a whisky
I heard multiple songs (unreleased and released) where she mentions Jim but when did she mention Bill? Maybe my memory’s just bad lol
She mentions Bill in Trash Magic
3:27 she says "I'm so happy you guys are here!" and the interviewer sounds like she sarcastically responds that "I'm very happy to be here". The way Lana giggled after and then got so serious :( all shy asses relate to that format of laughter lol.
She wasn’t sarcastic, just dry
It's so amazing how far she's come, paying $525 for rent in a trailer park to climbing up the H of the Hollywood sign:) still has the same adorable attitude i love her so much
Zoie Flynn Well...she lived there by choice because she was born rich and wanted a new experience
She is actually a millionaire daughter
@@selfidolization i think they kicked her out after finding out she had an addiction?
@@ko-nr2ty lol... no... they sent her to an exclusive and very expensive boarding school as a teenager that her uncle worked at. That was them “kicking her out” haha
@@vs71597 Yes. She herself stated that her parents sent her to boarding school to try and help with her alcoholism.
everyone commenting ‘she could fall back unto money’ and it’s her ‘choice to be poor’ clearly have no idea what a toxic relationship with your parents can be like.
spill
She could still fall back on money. Doesn’t matter if she didn’t like her mom. If she came to her parents asking for money in desperation her mother would give it to her. A poor persons mother COULDNT. And Lana talks about how much she loves her father. So not that “toxic” of a relationship to get money. What is it with the denial? It’s like Lady Gaga’s fans, pretending that she made it on her own. Lady Gaga’s parents were insanely wealthy. She kept telling the story about how her father “would only pay her rent for a year and if she didn’t make it in the industry that he would cut her off “ . That was supposed to be something of a struggle? she said her father paid for her rent while she got to perform at clubs all year making music. That is not real life for most people. Both came from money.
Imagine Lana & Amy Winehouse singing a duet together ...that would’ve been awesome 🕊🌹
Love the idea of two iconic “wild girls” singing together. Amy’s dark and lower voice and Lana’s silky tone would be SO good together.
Oh my goodness😳😭
Yes what a dream 😥 I think Amy would’ve really liked Lana. She didn’t like many other modern artists but I think she would’ve loved Lana
@@shawnbay2211 I would say that Amy Winehouse was significantly wilder than Lana Del Rey was/is. Amy's dark days of crack addiction, heavy drinking, bulimia and self-mutilation are well-documented in the book 'My Amy: The Life We Shared' by her best friend, Tyler James. Very, very dark and so SAD. ;-(
Lana has this quality where she seems like she's flirting with everyone. Like she's such a straight girl but I swear she's flirting with this interviewer lol. She has this natural seductive sweetness about her
That’s just her voice Lana definitely is straight

I just love how anxious and stressed she is ,giggling all the time its sooo cute
she's so sweet and kind. To think people would be so harsh towards someone so sunny and sweet. Her smile and innocent butterfly like personality is such a joy. Her outfit is so cute, with that blue ribbon headband, and little fluffy shorts but nothings cuter than her face. Also aside her references to future music, you can hear her talking about the "cult"

Old money I think is about her time in this trailer park :)
Old money was written in 2006
Well that settles it. She was always beautiful!
4:44 "there's a kitty... hello kitty kitty" how adorable- 😭💗
I think people forget about the fact that during this segment of her life she didn't have any contact with either of her parents, she even proceeded to confirm this in an interview (same interview she mentioned how she wanted to end her life) and that she built her own empire from her own bare hands, not from the help of her father like everyone accuses her of :/ she rlly is the queen of trailer parks and her legacy will forever live on
Does anyone know the name of that interview? X
Omg there is so much song references in this video 👇👇👇
She grew blue hydrangea (old money) trailer park(yayo and other songs i dont remember names )she mentioned the beach boys in (the greatest) she was living in the New Jersey by that time she mentioned it in (100 dollar bill "i am the New Jersey dance queen" ) she mentioned Bill in (trash magic) and Jim in (Ultraviolence) 7eleven ( diet mountain dew)

@@veronicajamesx why?
it’s crazy to see that this trailer park inspired her so much throughout her career and one of her hit songs 'old money' really describes her trailer park life in melodic music and how she could turn something quite unfortunate to something so dazzling and haunting is truly a talent!
This is wild knowing not long from then she would launch into fame. She was dope even back then.
22yrs old and she just had her talent & a dream

If I am not Mistaken, this is Manhattan Trailer in North Bergen, New Jersey. She moved there around 2007 I Think, she said last October so maybe Oct. 2007.
It’s no longer there, the son of the Owner sold it to a Real Estate Company to make for Luxury Apartments.
AWE MAN DAMN IT ALL TO HELL I WANTED TO SEE AND LIVE THERE FOR A WHILE IM ALSO FROM NEW JERSEY
gotta blast maybe you can go to live in an Luxury Apartment there, I’ll be your roommate...as long you pay the rent...hahaha
And people said she was lying about living at a trailer park?
just because she cosplayed poverty doesn't mean she didn't leave old money to do so.
she had her parents money to fall back on...
@@VanessaMartinez-nb7yc she never accepted money from her parents to become a singer, she had not a good relationship with them
It was a surprise to me :0
@fat didn’t they kick her out because she was addicted? i always thought that they wouldn’t give her any money and that’s why she lived in a trailer
I love that you can see that she is visibly shy and slightly awkward, in that cute way! She’s said she gets nervous and I just think she’s adorable!
Lana inspires me to be a storyteller. I hope she gives every one the same rush to pick up a pen and create.
she's one of my biggest inspirations...
THE LEGENDARY JIM
It’s quite intriguing that Lana is going to channel this era again, according her recent interview “White Dress” is going to be about her experiences throughout this time and some have even said that it’s going to be one of her most sentimental songs of all time, and now it’s understandable that she’s bringing this era into reference because she has been in the industry for approximately 10 years and I have the assumption that Lana always resonated with Lizzy but she just didn’t know how to involve her in her current music, but now she’s not only incorporating Lizzy’s sound but also her aesthetics.
Gathering from The White Dress snippet I have the expectation that this song is just a visualization of her Lizzy days, which we all are acknowledged of that it was not her most prosperous times and she has had encountered a lot of disadvantages within those times, so I just can’t wait to see what her current interpretation of Lizzy is going to be like and I’m still astonished that she has referenced this interview in her latest Instagram post, considering that she has never really been confessional about Lizzy and her occurrences during that time, just from that alone I can tell that this era is going to be very distinctive from NFR.
Not saying that Norman wasn’t sentimental or vulnerable, but I have a feeling that we are going to witness another side of Lana that we have never encountered before and not just surrounding her Lizzy persona but also the fact that she said that the album is going to be about her friends and family. So just think the album is going to be an embodiment of what her current live is settled.
this was so beautifully written. it put everything i was thinking about into words. thank you for this analysis. white dress is going to be phenomenal

4:09 is weird when she told she wants to work with David Linch, the interviewer seems to say” right” sarcastically, like she doesnt believe her/is laughing at her. also she touches her nose at this moment which is psychological fact that the person is lying. so she doesnt believe her, little did she know that it is actually reality now lol.
You know what else is even weirder? She asks her whether there's been a crime at 10:55 and then Lana touches her nose when she responds "no" (which, as you said it yourself is a psychological fact that someone is lying) ☠️
