Noticed people talking about shorter videos and totally understand your responses as far as people bailing out on longer uploads. But just know that for the purists, and the fans of Spike and The Hula Girls, longer uploads just mean we get to hang out with one of our most favorite people a little bit longer. Cheers!!
A couple of quick points: a. Rock candy syrup is not 2:1. That's rich or rich simple. Rock candy syrup is 3:1 and it's called that because it's so saturated with sugar it'll turn into rock candy. b. The reason for squeezing the lime juice over the drink is to catch the lime oils from the peel. As usual a sensational video (the only real Tiki lifeline with all the bar closures and Tiki Central being down!) and YES to the glassware!
JM Garcia thanks for the insight! I was wondering why 2:1 wasn't just called rich simple syrup in the recipe. And the oils thing does make sense. Maybe I need to take another swing at this one... or at least a quick mention in the next one. Thanks!!
Never tried Bacardi 8 in this before. I do enjoy it with either Plantation 3 Star or Probitas. You might see how you like it with ¾ oz lime juice, to reduce the tartness.
Definitely more cocktail glasses, I would buy the zombie glasses too. Curious to know if the drink would be less tart if you didn't mix the lime juice?
Great video! Have you been down to Hi Times Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa? It’s the best liquor store I’ve ever been too. An incredible selection of rums, liqueurs and syrups. My friends and I hit it up at least once a month.
Yes Spike, My Plastic Monkey Tiki Bar is quite interested in your glasses. I do like the little references dipicted on them. hi to SugarPepper. Spike, in true Tiki tradition is a plastic monkey garnish, Tiki? I remember 7 year old me NEEDING one in my childhood Coke a Cola at Benihana's. Is there a history to Plastic Monkeys and other non plant garnishes, like the umbrellas? What do you think about making the large drinks serving multiple guests, 2 to 4? Mahalo!
Vic got lazy on this one. It's a 1944 Mai Tai with a different rum base. Same amount of orgeat, rich simple, lime and curacao. Even the garnish is the same. That's funny. I hadn't heard of this drink name before. Thanks for posting.
Nathan Robinson yeah, thanks for watching! I realized that the drink was basically a mai tai about halfway through recording… I was like Vic, that dirty stinker!
Vic could have been doing a couple things: making a cheaper alternative to mai tai since the real deal had expensive aged rums or going for less of the stronger pot-still flavors.
@@jmgarcia61 I've been trying to buy the whole set. Mugs, glasses, the lot. US Trader Vic's used to ship overseas but doesn't now and it's such a shame.
17 minutes is a suuuuuper long video by youtube standards. It probably takes hours to edit and at least an hour or two to film, so i dont blame him for trimming it down
I'm trying to make them shorter. I was losing viewer retention as they kept getting longer. It wasn't making much sense for me to put in the effort while having people drift off. :/ 🤷🏻♂️
Will Crouch usually about an hour to film and four or five hours to edit a short-ish one, depending on how much still footage I include. The editing is just a giant pain (and I'm pretty fast in using Premier).
Miss Sugarpepper is the most adorable guest ever.

Rob In The 805 ah, man, that's really nice to hear. I'm sure there will be more long form episodes in the future.
Love seeing Sugarpepper Jones as always.
I wanna meet her
You love seeing him get impatient with her squeezing and taking over like a typical man? Seems pretty gender biased.
Yes to more cocktail glasses
Yes! Do the glasses again! Would look great next to some of my tiki mugs
Thank you Matt and Ms. Jones. It was fun watching you guys have fun. Be safe and enjoy your weekend my dear friends. Cheers.

@@BreezewayCocktailHour yes, you must, in the name of science, take another whack... this is the cross you have to bear.
Thanks for another great video. Not sure if I’m going to try this one or not, but the demo was fabulous!
As always super video

Awesome video. I think it might not affect the flavor but the show is just as important.
I always love seeing you being pissed at the vine that came down... again! I’ll try this one tonight! Great vid 👏
Ruben Elshof 😂
Love Ms Jones - and definitely interested in the glasses!

Stefan Varner yup, that's my spot too 👍🏼
100% More cocktails glasses please
She is a KEEPER!

I need to start digging through my trader vic's bartender guide

I would love a Breezeway glass!! Do you ship to the UK?
Darren and Tina Sale I do :)
Glasses and a Breezeway t shirt when the merch is ready!!
Smokin' Mahoneys!
I'm down for 2 Breezeway glasses
Don't skimp on the Mint is a good slogan for a t-shirt or merch
Or “Served in the original glass”
I want a mai tai and zombie glass from you
I'd buy a glass if there's an opportunity.
So it’s a Mai Tai 😏. I’d definitely drink with sweet sweet Sugar Honey 😂
Can’t get the Trader Vic glasses in the U.K. 😢
Call the Trader Vic in London, they will hook you up!
@@jmgarcia61 I’ve emailed them a few times. They’re not interested.
Claks_ Cocktails Give a day or two, I'll try to connect you with the right person directly.

Needed some more Tee Hee Hee...
Get it sugar ! Lol
Put me down for a shirt and a glass!
dang this seems really similar to a mai tai
caivs yeah, I noticed that too! Just different rum and rock candy syrup.
The way you put the lime in may not effect the taste, but, if you want to be seeing those Menehune, you better make that magic potion the proper way.😱
It seems like Elvira got stoned out of her mind
Jimmy Emerald 😂😂😂
Why is Sugarpper asked back so often, it’s not just because she’s cute, she also likes corks, but then who doesn’t!
Spike,
Is it me or are you making these videos shorter? I feel like they're ending too soon. I didn't get that from your earlier videos.

Miss Sugarpepper Jones has a very sexy voice as well.
steam???? from the heat??? lol
George Borcherding 😂
Really, Sugarpepper vs Pinup Palmer. I guess I don't like meek women. Bring back Palmer...if you can......
Miss Sugarpepper is cute but gosh my IQ dropped watching this.
