    Jeremy Lin needs to be given More Opportunities. It's sickening what has been happening with him in Houston at times. The team overall plays better and more fluidly whenever he's on the court.
    The most DISTINCT thing that I love about him is when you get to the sidelines. If you watch during their time outs or breaks you'll notice that Jeremy Lin is given the marker and clipboard because he's addressing plays.
    This guys is LEGIT and he keeps getting pulled to the side on the big games. That Heats game was absolutely frustrating to watch with how they utilized Jeremy. What a complete joke.
    I'm just annoyed at how he goes for 26 points then all of a sudden he's being held back against the Biggest Team from the East. They need to simply allow this young man more minutes to play so that he can do his thing.
    Agreed on Lin>>>>>>>>>>>Beverly. Lin makes the Rockets more free flowing & his ability to open shots for players is simply better, simply put, Jeremy Lin is the BEST PG on that Houston team...but is not being utilized to that level, sad and pathetic.

      Beverley is a better than Lin, no question, though. This coming from a huge fan of Lin with great respect for his good sportsmanship, attitude towards the game, and his teammates.
      But yes, I do think JLin is a much better offensive guard than Beverley.

    • @mrmichaelma
      @mrmichaelma 10 лет назад

      m3gusta17 i wouldn't say Beverly is better than Lin, defensively of course is better, way better, but nothing else in his game compares to Lin, he can hit some 3s here and there but not considered a sharp shooter enough.

      MikeMA Sorry, I think I meant defensively lol... I do think McHale needs to utilize Lin better.

    • @mrmichaelma
      @mrmichaelma 10 лет назад

      m3gusta17 haha yeah. he doesn't fit well in Houston, that's why Rockets fans hate him so much. I do believe he'll be better on a team without another ball dominant guard.

    • @m3gusta17
      @m3gusta17 10 лет назад +2

      MikeMA really? I feel like a lot of the comments from Houston fans I've seen online, as well as the Houston fans I've talked to (I'm from Texas, and I'm at a university with a TON of Houstonians) say they love Lin; a lot of them said that it's McHale's fault for not using him correctly.

    What impressed me about this game is the fact that Portland got away with quite a bit of fouls in the game and Houston was still able to win. This is the kind of adversity you need to overcome if you want to win championships.

    You compare his game to his previous years, he has gotten better defensively and offensively. In this game, he drives to the basket and gets the other team in foul trouble. He is aggressive and plays smart basketball. Does his skill need to improve a bit more to fit the point guard position? Yea. But he plays smart basketball to cause foul trouble and get easy points.

    Patrick Beverly has the lowest Pie and Efficiency rating for a starting Point Guard in the Whole League. I did the research and it's true. They have the largest differential gap in back-up being better than the starter. I could post my findings if people ask for it. It's up to us to inform as many people as possible about coach McHale's and the roster's mistreatment of Lin. The mainstream sports media sure isn't going to do it.

    • @pluviopurple
      @pluviopurple 10 лет назад +19

      I don't think it matters who the starting point guard is. When PB is out there, he has 2 All-Stars with him and his role is to distribute the ball to them. The bench unit doesn't really have guys that can score or create shots except for Lin. If Lin started with Harden+Howard, they would probably score a lot. But what happens when they need to rest and the 2nd unit comes out. Is PB going to lead them? He's not much of a scorer. He's there to play perimeter defense and pass the ball. The offense will suffer. My only problem is with how little McHale utilizes Lin. 15-16 minutes a game? I think he should be given at least 25-30 minutes. PB and Lin make a good combo as well.

    Jeremy Lin was the offensive weapon when he was on the knicks playing with no superstars.

    I'm a huge fan of any under-dog story, and with that I really admire J.Lin. However, his game is limited. He would tell you himself that his game is limited. His speed is below average for a point guard; his explosiveness is okay. But only when he is going straight. He doesn't have a "quick-twitch" explosiveness. He has a vertical, straight, explosiveness. And that really limits him.

    • @JapChaeJan
      @JapChaeJan 10 лет назад +7

      Da fuck have you be watching Marc Rover? Lin's quickness is compared to DRose and John Wall. The only thing missing from Lin's game is consistency.

    • @allowedme
      @allowedme 10 лет назад

      Marc Rover, I am sure you too have that quick-twitch explosiveness and you are not in the NBA. Go figure.

    • @mycommentpwnz
      @mycommentpwnz 10 лет назад +3

      Rin Nohara He is not nearly as quick as D.Rose. Lin has a good first step, but after that defenders are on him like Glue. That's why he gets fouled so much. Also, he isn't 10% of the finisher D.Rose is. D.Rose can dunk IN TRAFFIC among 7 footers. Lin has a so-so floater, and can't finish NEARLY as good as D.Rose. If you don't agree w/ that, IDK what to tell ya.

      ***** He isn't as quick or explosive as D.Rose. Frankly, I find that ridiculous. D.Rose can shake you, go into the lane, and dunk on a 7 footer. The day Lin does that Ill shit a brick. J.Lin has a fast first step, but after that he is slow. Why do you think he gets fouled so much? Because he gets by people with a quick first step, but after that the defenders catch up.

    watching the thunder/rockets game and I am sorry, god please forgive me but....I hate harden and I hate McHale and I hate the general manager of the rockets. most of the players on the team are amazingly selfish. as a result Lin sits in the corner, going minutes and a number of possessions never touching the ball. I'm pretty ill. I pray he can get into a better situation this summer. Houston must be a nightmare for him.

    • @sstevehu
      @sstevehu 10 лет назад +6

      rockets would have a chance to win the game over thunder if they let Lin play more minutes, what a waste! Coach has no brain, always the same strategy to play thunder

      @wilsc  10 лет назад +1

      have not had time to watch the game yet, but from the footwearfoot highlights, it looks like lin was driving well, freeing up asik at least a couple of times. from the box score, the shot attempts was a big drop compared to the last game. wonder why the drop in attempts. probably has to do with the number of minutes and focus of the offense ... same old same old

    • @MrSixPack5228
      @MrSixPack5228 10 лет назад +2

      sstevehu
      rockets would have no chance without harden, soo yea. lin is good at times but there are times where he is absolute sht. Dont bring up this stupid more minutes argument, in the start of the season he was playing exceptional in the same rotation, however now he is sooo inconsistent and garbage most of the time.

    • @ceratedd1357
      @ceratedd1357 10 лет назад

      harden and lin both have some good and bad times, what i notice is harden was being selfish most of the time. Beverly plays with harden and howard while Lin plays with the second lineup leaving him no one to pass when he gives pressure inside. I agree that Lin is not as good as d.rose. Lins is better at court vision and ball rotation and his good at perimeter shooting. If only they can utilize lin's type of game that will be grEat. I think C-Asik, PF-Howard, SF-Parsons and an alternate role SG-PG between Lin and Harden is a strong LINE-UP.

    I'm a huge J.Lin fan. And I've watched nearly all of his games. However, those of you comparing his quickness / speed to D.Rose need to go watch some more D.Rose. (healthy) D.Rose is a FREAK. J.Lin isn't 1/4th of D.Rose. D.Rose can dunk on 7 footers, in traffic, after he just SHOOK his defender. J.Lin can't do that when hes fucking dreaming. Get real.

    Coming from a huge Lin fan: Patrick Beverly is better suited to be on the starting line-up mainly because he has Harden and Dwight on the court, along with Jones and Parsons. That said, Beverly is out there with them to provide tenacity and defense. Jeremy Lin, in this particular team, is better as a 6th man to provide the plays and scoring for the second unit. In other words, Lin's role is more significant as a bench player because he is the guy they look for to provide that second unit's spark.

    • @wilsc
      @wilsc  10 лет назад

      Bev is supposed to provide defense, but one statistic says that there is not much difference.
      With Lin plus the other four, the opponent shot 45.6% With Bev plus the other four, the opponent shot 46.2%. Lin on the floor actually resulted in better defense (if we accept lower opponent shot percentage is an indicator of more effective defensive line ups).
      stats.nba.com/teamLineups.html?TeamID=1610612745&pageNo=1&rowsPerPage=25&columnOrder=&MeasureType=Opponent&sortField=MIN&sortOrder=DES

    • @marksy3198
      @marksy3198 10 лет назад

      wilsc Agreed, but the main reason I am trying to get accross is that Lin provides that spark for the second unit, an offensive spark that Bev cannot do. Also, defensively, Bev does alot o untangible things that are not seen in stats like his tenacity and hussle. Lin, on the other hand, has more offensive skills and is more needed from the bench rather than being a starter. Although with these two very different guards, it gives McHale more options in his line-up depending on the game at hand.

    • @wilsc
      @wilsc  10 лет назад

      pyromark175 Starting and playing with the bench is not mutually exclusive.

    • @marksy3198
      @marksy3198 10 лет назад

      wilsc Statistics show that most teams will have more minutes exclusively for the starting players, and that is evident here since Beverly, ever since he came back from injury, has been getting more minutes than Lin.

    • @wilsc
      @wilsc  10 лет назад

      pyromark175 My point is that a player can start and lead the bench. Harden for example does this when he's on the court with the bench.

      I just think it's pretty lame that people like to say he turns the ball over a lot. I don't think he does. If he does " blame the coach". Speaking of harden since when being scorer you're allowed to have turn overs?? I don't remember Jordan having that many. Dude sorry man... Harden is not top 5 just because KD said so. I must say he's really good at getting to foul line and euro stepping.

      jianwan84 youre dumb saying so does harden, go look at the list of players that turn it over a lot. so comparing lin to harden is just stupid. harden will turn it over then get the ball back and drain a 3.

      I don't agree with "Lin is explosive as D.rose", but the scene you just linked as an example is not a good one. Lin got pushed hard while he was crossing over, and that's not a good time to jump high. D.rose wouldn't jump higher when he got pushed while crossing over. I don't think Lin is as explosive as D.rose, but I do think Lin's constant speed in the court is top in NBA.

They already have Harden so if they get carmelo then they have to get another ball cuz those two will not share. They will also cut parsons` playing time cuz there`s no way mc hale can fit those 3 in the small forward rotation. Parsons will leave that shitty organization along with lin & asik.

      lotuskcs I think parsons love the limelight so I think he will join the lakers or the knicks who are both in rebuilding mode & very popular teams. I think the lakers will poach parsons in revenge for houston taking howard. I also think parsons want to forget his botched D on lillard. I used to like houston but the management & mc hale treat Lin like crap even their commentators can`t help but diss him every game.

    worst officiated game I've watched this season (watch a lot of NBA). Houston has become my least favorite NBA team. Its obvious the team attends daily acting class. Lin is learning well from Harden… and its ruining the NBA.

    Why does Lin get a highlight video after every game? Hes not as good as hes made out to be.

      his style of basketball is fun to watch: explosive player, gets to the rim, involves the whole team. when he is on the floor, the team moves. he is underrated now, as one of the tnt guys noted.

    Theres 26 points here yeh..a (lot of free throws) but.. also a lot of shitty play. I mean he horribly bricks a few floaters and at the rim opportunities. He just.. doesnt look good here.

    haha Lin is trash!
    well, I take that back. The dudes a damn light switch. Plays real well one game (2014 game 5 playoffs vs POR) Then plays like complete shit the next or vice versa (game 4 of same series)
