Jeremy Lin needs to be given More Opportunities. It's sickening what has been happening with him in Houston at times. The team overall plays better and more fluidly whenever he's on the court. The most DISTINCT thing that I love about him is when you get to the sidelines. If you watch during their time outs or breaks you'll notice that Jeremy Lin is given the marker and clipboard because he's addressing plays. This guys is LEGIT and he keeps getting pulled to the side on the big games. That Heats game was absolutely frustrating to watch with how they utilized Jeremy. What a complete joke. I'm just annoyed at how he goes for 26 points then all of a sudden he's being held back against the Biggest Team from the East. They need to simply allow this young man more minutes to play so that he can do his thing. Agreed on Lin>>>>>>>>>>>Beverly. Lin makes the Rockets more free flowing & his ability to open shots for players is simply better, simply put, Jeremy Lin is the BEST PG on that Houston team...but is not being utilized to that level, sad and pathetic.
Beverley is a better than Lin, no question, though. This coming from a huge fan of Lin with great respect for his good sportsmanship, attitude towards the game, and his teammates. But yes, I do think JLin is a much better offensive guard than Beverley.
m3gusta17 i wouldn't say Beverly is better than Lin, defensively of course is better, way better, but nothing else in his game compares to Lin, he can hit some 3s here and there but not considered a sharp shooter enough.
m3gusta17 haha yeah. he doesn't fit well in Houston, that's why Rockets fans hate him so much. I do believe he'll be better on a team without another ball dominant guard.
MikeMA really? I feel like a lot of the comments from Houston fans I've seen online, as well as the Houston fans I've talked to (I'm from Texas, and I'm at a university with a TON of Houstonians) say they love Lin; a lot of them said that it's McHale's fault for not using him correctly.
What impressed me about this game is the fact that Portland got away with quite a bit of fouls in the game and Houston was still able to win. This is the kind of adversity you need to overcome if you want to win championships.
You compare his game to his previous years, he has gotten better defensively and offensively. In this game, he drives to the basket and gets the other team in foul trouble. He is aggressive and plays smart basketball. Does his skill need to improve a bit more to fit the point guard position? Yea. But he plays smart basketball to cause foul trouble and get easy points.
its ryt mark rover, but thats why hes a special player. . he never gaves up. He works harder and play harder. . thrs no limit if u want to be good. . its up to you how u limit your self. . LINSANITY
Patrick Beverly has the lowest Pie and Efficiency rating for a starting Point Guard in the Whole League. I did the research and it's true. They have the largest differential gap in back-up being better than the starter. I could post my findings if people ask for it. It's up to us to inform as many people as possible about coach McHale's and the roster's mistreatment of Lin. The mainstream sports media sure isn't going to do it.
Could you show the numbers, I would love to be able to use them for debates against morons whom keep claiming Beverly is better then Lin. I myself am too lazy to go and look it up.
I don't think it matters who the starting point guard is. When PB is out there, he has 2 All-Stars with him and his role is to distribute the ball to them. The bench unit doesn't really have guys that can score or create shots except for Lin. If Lin started with Harden+Howard, they would probably score a lot. But what happens when they need to rest and the 2nd unit comes out. Is PB going to lead them? He's not much of a scorer. He's there to play perimeter defense and pass the ball. The offense will suffer. My only problem is with how little McHale utilizes Lin. 15-16 minutes a game? I think he should be given at least 25-30 minutes. PB and Lin make a good combo as well.
rockets offense options, James Harden, James Harden and James Harden. Jeremy Lin was the offensive weapon when he was on the knicks playing with no superstars. As you can see, he plays more team basketball, listens to the coach.
Why must coach mchale start beverley instead of jeremy lin, just why? Lin is more of a game changer than beverley. Thats all-star caliber right there!!!
I'm a huge fan of any under-dog story, and with that I really admire J.Lin. However, his game is limited. He would tell you himself that his game is limited. His speed is below average for a point guard; his explosiveness is okay. But only when he is going straight. He doesn't have a "quick-twitch" explosiveness. He has a vertical, straight, explosiveness. And that really limits him.
Rin Nohara He is not nearly as quick as D.Rose. Lin has a good first step, but after that defenders are on him like Glue. That's why he gets fouled so much. Also, he isn't 10% of the finisher D.Rose is. D.Rose can dunk IN TRAFFIC among 7 footers. Lin has a so-so floater, and can't finish NEARLY as good as D.Rose. If you don't agree w/ that, IDK what to tell ya.
***** He isn't as quick or explosive as D.Rose. Frankly, I find that ridiculous. D.Rose can shake you, go into the lane, and dunk on a 7 footer. The day Lin does that Ill shit a brick. J.Lin has a fast first step, but after that he is slow. Why do you think he gets fouled so much? Because he gets by people with a quick first step, but after that the defenders catch up.
watching the thunder/rockets game and I am sorry, god please forgive me but....I hate harden and I hate McHale and I hate the general manager of the rockets. most of the players on the team are amazingly selfish. as a result Lin sits in the corner, going minutes and a number of possessions never touching the ball. I'm pretty ill. I pray he can get into a better situation this summer. Houston must be a nightmare for him.
rockets would have a chance to win the game over thunder if they let Lin play more minutes, what a waste! Coach has no brain, always the same strategy to play thunder
have not had time to watch the game yet, but from the footwearfoot highlights, it looks like lin was driving well, freeing up asik at least a couple of times. from the box score, the shot attempts was a big drop compared to the last game. wonder why the drop in attempts. probably has to do with the number of minutes and focus of the offense ... same old same old
sstevehu rockets would have no chance without harden, soo yea. lin is good at times but there are times where he is absolute sht. Dont bring up this stupid more minutes argument, in the start of the season he was playing exceptional in the same rotation, however now he is sooo inconsistent and garbage most of the time.
harden and lin both have some good and bad times, what i notice is harden was being selfish most of the time. Beverly plays with harden and howard while Lin plays with the second lineup leaving him no one to pass when he gives pressure inside. I agree that Lin is not as good as d.rose. Lins is better at court vision and ball rotation and his good at perimeter shooting. If only they can utilize lin's type of game that will be grEat. I think C-Asik, PF-Howard, SF-Parsons and an alternate role SG-PG between Lin and Harden is a strong LINE-UP.
I'm a huge J.Lin fan. And I've watched nearly all of his games. However, those of you comparing his quickness / speed to D.Rose need to go watch some more D.Rose. (healthy) D.Rose is a FREAK. J.Lin isn't 1/4th of D.Rose. D.Rose can dunk on 7 footers, in traffic, after he just SHOOK his defender. J.Lin can't do that when hes fucking dreaming. Get real.
He is like Gilbert Arenas. Their style of play is not compatible for a long career. D.Rose is done, after the ACL and the Meniscus, he won't be the same ever. Look at Arenas. I believed Arenas was even better than D.Rose in his prime.
Coming from a huge Lin fan: Patrick Beverly is better suited to be on the starting line-up mainly because he has Harden and Dwight on the court, along with Jones and Parsons. That said, Beverly is out there with them to provide tenacity and defense. Jeremy Lin, in this particular team, is better as a 6th man to provide the plays and scoring for the second unit. In other words, Lin's role is more significant as a bench player because he is the guy they look for to provide that second unit's spark.
Bev is supposed to provide defense, but one statistic says that there is not much difference. With Lin plus the other four, the opponent shot 45.6% With Bev plus the other four, the opponent shot 46.2%. Lin on the floor actually resulted in better defense (if we accept lower opponent shot percentage is an indicator of more effective defensive line ups). stats.nba.com/teamLineups.html?TeamID=1610612745&pageNo=1&rowsPerPage=25&columnOrder=&MeasureType=Opponent&sortField=MIN&sortOrder=DES
wilsc Agreed, but the main reason I am trying to get accross is that Lin provides that spark for the second unit, an offensive spark that Bev cannot do. Also, defensively, Bev does alot o untangible things that are not seen in stats like his tenacity and hussle. Lin, on the other hand, has more offensive skills and is more needed from the bench rather than being a starter. Although with these two very different guards, it gives McHale more options in his line-up depending on the game at hand.
wilsc Statistics show that most teams will have more minutes exclusively for the starting players, and that is evident here since Beverly, ever since he came back from injury, has been getting more minutes than Lin.
Real pros. Portlands game plan included winning at any cost. Take out Lin - foul out if necessary and injure the opponent. Watch closely the elbows and flagrant body blocks. Referees - REALLY?
I just think it's pretty lame that people like to say he turns the ball over a lot. I don't think he does. If he does " blame the coach". Speaking of harden since when being scorer you're allowed to have turn overs?? I don't remember Jordan having that many. Dude sorry man... Harden is not top 5 just because KD said so. I must say he's really good at getting to foul line and euro stepping.
jianwan84 youre dumb saying so does harden, go look at the list of players that turn it over a lot. so comparing lin to harden is just stupid. harden will turn it over then get the ball back and drain a 3.
well..... he's coming off the bench this year and putting 15 mil in his pocket. i wouldn't be trippin if i was him. plus him and PB seem to split min evenly.
Still laughing at everyone who says "J.Lin as explosive as D.Rose." Go go 3:07 please. His first step, as I stated previously, is pretty good. However, when he gets to the rim, he gets about 15 inches off the ground. Please, stop telling me J.Lin is as explosive as D.Rose. You're fucking dreaming.
I don't agree with "Lin is explosive as D.rose", but the scene you just linked as an example is not a good one. Lin got pushed hard while he was crossing over, and that's not a good time to jump high. D.rose wouldn't jump higher when he got pushed while crossing over. I don't think Lin is as explosive as D.rose, but I do think Lin's constant speed in the court is top in NBA.
why would anyone bother making the comparison?!?! Lin is an great, above average PG, and rose was arguably the best gaurd in the game at one point. Lin has good athleticism, but Rose was an athletic freak of nature. Unfair comparison.
jeremy lin shouldn't even be in a convo with d rose, who is saying this? now jeremy lin has worked incredibly hard to get to where he's at, (watch the LINSANITY netflix movie) he got sent to Dleague 3 times then cut on christmas day then signed 2 days later to the knicks and then he blows up, great sports inspirational story. He has definitely earned a spot for a starting role. At first, like many, i just said he's asian thats why he's getting some recognition but if you watch the 15 min video of his highlights of the 2012 season...he's legit.
Houston will have a bad karma next season cuz they want to get anthony of all people. They already have Harden so if they get carmelo then they have to get another ball cuz those two will not share. They will also cut parsons` playing time cuz there`s no way mc hale can fit those 3 in the small forward rotation. Parsons will leave that shitty organization along with lin & asik.
lotuskcs I think parsons love the limelight so I think he will join the lakers or the knicks who are both in rebuilding mode & very popular teams. I think the lakers will poach parsons in revenge for houston taking howard. I also think parsons want to forget his botched D on lillard. I used to like houston but the management & mc hale treat Lin like crap even their commentators can`t help but diss him every game.
lin played like ass in this game...the rockets played like ass in this game xD until the end, i yhink portland blew this tbh, and the bs refs, they were shitty to lin man. overall, bad game, until the end xD
worst officiated game I've watched this season (watch a lot of NBA). Houston has become my least favorite NBA team. Its obvious the team attends daily acting class. Lin is learning well from Harden… and its ruining the NBA.
his style of basketball is fun to watch: explosive player, gets to the rim, involves the whole team. when he is on the floor, the team moves. he is underrated now, as one of the tnt guys noted.
Theres 26 points here yeh..a (lot of free throws) but.. also a lot of shitty play. I mean he horribly bricks a few floaters and at the rim opportunities. He just.. doesnt look good here.
haha Lin is trash! well, I take that back. The dudes a damn light switch. Plays real well one game (2014 game 5 playoffs vs POR) Then plays like complete shit the next or vice versa (game 4 of same series)
I was at this game and J.Lin is my favorite Rocket Player!!! Lets Go Lin!!!!
This was an awesome game.Jeremy is way underrated.
if Lin had a coach that showed him some love on a regular basis.
OMG Jeremy Lin took my breath away. I watched the video 5 times.
Jeremy Lin is literally Mr 4th Quarter. That's where he shined and will always shine. Even with the Knicks, he changed games in the 4th quarter.
Thanks for the good video. Nice to see Jeremy's good performance is back. Stay healthy and Keep doing good. God bless Jeremy.
Thanks for your nice work as always!
Jeremy Lin - a good heart.
Jeremy Lin needs to be given More Opportunities. It's sickening what has been happening with him in Houston at times. The team overall plays better and more fluidly whenever he's on the court.

Good job. Jeremy! I am so proud of him!
Awsome video! Thank u
His weakness on the left side is very evident on this vid. I just hope that he will bring the Linsanity in LA. Welcome to the Lakers Jeremy Lin!
Great game!!Thanks for sharing.
That thumbnail is EPIC. :D
amazing! Healthy Lin, Beverley, Howard and a healthy Parson could get us at least at the conference final
You compare his game to his previous years, he has gotten better defensively and offensively. In this game, he drives to the basket and gets the other team in foul trouble. Is the video quality not horrible for anyone else?
yeah. its really bad. I don't understand how that happened. did the coding degrade over time or something?
Blazers got All the calls and Lin still brought em back! Even the announcers were amazed at the no-call hacks against Houston
Linsanity lives on. :)
LINSANITY NOT OVER YET !
your audio capture is amazing, make more vids
lol

many small things that changed this game
8:48 parsons giving it to lin cuz he knew portland was going to foul
Lin is the reason Houston won this game but when Lin comes back to the bench or when the game is over, McHale still blows Lin off.
Why must coach mchale start beverley instead of jeremy lin, just why? Lin is more of a game changer than beverley. Thats all-star caliber right there!!!

Galing talaga ng Idol ko! #JeremyLin7
Freaking good game..
excellent job !
LIN really need more play time
he's way more better than play just avg 20min a game
and his DEF do help a lots for Rocket (or for Harden.....)
Lin is back

see 7:20. Why DH12 won't pass the ball to Lin? Discrimination?
LOLS SO TRUE! hilarious
Fuck Dwight coward. Stupid soft as charmin
it would be good if lin master the floater or tear drop.
He is always trying to use finger roll
plays like Steve Nash exactly,
Steve Nash is better at breaking down defenses, and a better passer. I'll give you this much : J.Lin is a cheap version of Nash.
Marc Rover
guess wat ur a racist for saying j.lin is a cheap nash lmao lmao (i'm playing)
Weilun Kang he is not racist and he is a big fun of lin if you read his old comments
Amazing!

pyromark175 My point is that a player can start and lead the bench. Harden for example does this when he's on the court with the bench.
Lillard can't even begin to guard Lin.....ever.

and to make it short that lin is better than bevely, lin has the skill of "CLOSER" hes really good in end GAME. . .
RED RED RED RED RED!!!!!!
lin turns the ball over a lot, in all games
So does Harden
Harden is top 5 best players in the NBA right now. dont know how you could say that
harden had 28 points, he's a scorer, he can have turn over. dude i don't hate lin, he just turns it over alot for a backup pg.
I just think it's pretty lame that people like to say he turns the ball over a lot. I don't think he does. If he does " blame the coach". Mchale hadn't play Lin as much in the 1st round. Possibly could of got this result or better.
well..... he's coming off the bench this year and putting 15 mil in his pocket. i wouldn't be trippin if i was him. plus him and PB seem to split min evenly.
mo just can't guard JLIN. He got crossed over, then Lin went in for the reverse.
the last thing parson says is "big fucking play"
The coach now is a sad man who lost his mom and daughter. He wants to be agressive in his life approach that doesnt go with lins godly.personality
Godly personality? Man, trolls these days.....Gotta' put more effort into it, bud.
McHale: "NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE"

Lin is much better than beverly. hes a defensive player and not a good passer too. but lin has all that.
Jeremy Lin has all the tools, he honestly just needs to learn how to fucking finish. ESPECIALLY around the basket. but dude has extreme potential.
Rockets r good as hell
Jeremy Lin is a SG being forced to play PG. That is the problem.
Harden hates Lin?
YOUR MAMA HATES YOU
Jeremy on sucked bad in tht game why did u even post that game

Why does Lin get a highlight video after every game? Hes not as good as hes made out to be.
his style of basketball is fun to watch: explosive player, gets to the rim, involves the whole team. when he is on the floor, the team moves. he is underrated now, as one of the tnt guys noted.
Did anyone force you to watch it?
Yes, I was held at gunpoint and forced.
lots of fans. good story
CODY SANDERS. This is for Jeremy Fans only. I think you should take a hike
the reffree is sucks
Why is there hilights of him missing lay ups lol so over rated and over paid
Theres 26 points here yeh..a (lot of free throws) but.. also a lot of shitty play. I mean he horribly bricks a few floaters and at the rim opportunities. He just.. doesnt look good here.
haha Lin is trash!
well, I take that back. The dudes a damn light switch. Plays real well one game (2014 game 5 playoffs vs POR) Then plays like complete shit the next or vice versa (game 4 of same series)
i guess you were talking about James Harden's performance in that series....
Next all-star
i'd be really glad if thats happens, love that guy. but then at the same time, probs wouldnt keep my hopes up too high :/ give it some time i think
