Look at the body language of Lin at the end (8:20), when he's once again assigned to the corner, it's very obvious he knew he wouldn't get the ball at all (his hands were both down, not anticipating any pass to him). Lin scored 7 pts in the first two min of OT mostly with high pick-N-roll, then suddenly Mchale decided that Lin has met his quota, abandoned something that's not broken and moved back to Harden's ISOs (even scoring 8-26 at that point) and nailed Lin at the corner. The combo of Mchale and Harden lost the game for Rockets, period.
Harden had an off night, but the coach stuck to his iso play, which cost the game. Howard's poor free throw shooting also contributed to the loss. Lin played very well, especially in OT. He was quite solid in defense although it was not shown in the stats.
The bearded ball hog was 8 for 28 from the field and 3 for 14 from the 3 point line. He never thought to pass and never hesitated to shoot. He is no longer carmello jr.....he is carmello.
that was a tough lost. Rockets blew it but give Portland props. Portland really fought back everytime the Rockets went up. Big baskets from Lin. Expecting more for Game 2
I watched this game, and the whole time I was pondering as to why people are calling Bev an elite defender... still dumbfound about it, but i'm not complaining, Blazers won! Last year Blazers and Rockets games was more interesting cause Lin had a bigger role and giving Lillard a hard time.
On the NBA highlights of rockets vs. Blazers, despite only making 8 of 28 shots and fully responsible for losing this game, all of Harden made shots were highlighted. And Jeremy Lin got the only TO highlight. Talking about bias.
Wow I thought I was the only one who saw this. It's really strange how ESPN and the NBA seem to want paint Lin as some kind of scrub but when you watch the actual game he's like saving the Rockets during crunch time. What the heck is going on?!
When James Harden score 37 points, the media get real high and forgot to mention he was 13 for 35. When Jeremy Lin score 9 in Overtime, no media mention it and they also ignore Harden's selfishness for the last shot. James Harden will never win a championship if he keep shooting more than 30 shot in a game like this.
it is actually nice to watch lin play. he don't rush thing. He actually made dwight and parson a lot better in this series. Harden on the other hand is kinda horrible
As a team they're playing better compared to last years playoff series against OKC. Bev and lin make a nice combo as seen in the pelicans game a few weeks back
Houston's loss is all on Harden and McHale. Harden, you can play the dominant alpha male, you can influence the coach and put people on bench, you can do what ever you like in the team, and I am fine with all that, as long as, you can deliver critical shots (think Kobe). You enjoy the privilege of the alpha male, so you have to deliver as the alpha male. Otherwise, you are just a wimp. McHale should be fired on site. He is clueless. He has all the ingredients of a championship team, and yet he blew it all.
Quote from NBA recap: "THE STAT: Houston did not move the ball much and relied too heavily on isolation offense down the stretch, dishing out only two assists in the fourth quarter and overtime combined."
Lin did GREAT tonight. He is only a bench player, at most the No. 4 option in offense in the Houston system, what more can you ask for? Save the world when their "No. 1" player sucked? Yes, he had 2 TOs, yes, he had a terrible off-the-back-board-shot when Blazer's best defender 6'8" Batum going at him. But so what? He exceeded the expectation for a role player (let's face it people, that's what Lin is in the Houston system by the fool McHale). Just look at Mo Williams' stat and get a perspective.
numbers do lie........they lie the most......... when the A teams sit and he is playing against the scrubs his numbers are inflated......so once again number DO lie.......
Chris Clements That's where you're wrong! Lin never gets to lead the 2nd unit and plays mostly against the starters! The one leading the 2nd unit was mostly Parsons, and even Canaan before being sent to the D League again! If Lin actually got to play with the 2nd unit he'd actually be able to pad his stats, instead golden boy Parsons gets to lead them to inflate his stats!
this is the only game for Rockets i watched thru this season, and the comments abt harden playing iso that led Rockets to only 4th spot is true. this game 1 is comical. Blazers kept missing the shots but they had good ball movements despite strong D from Rockets, but R has no, i mean, NO ball movements. harden and howard are a joke. one does not pass the ball, one cannot get free Ts and does not know how to pass the ball. When Lin is there, he knows where to pass the ball. But he got placed on the side spots, like a shooting guard position. harden many times served as PG. they get points only because each one of them is a good shooter and they rely on sporadical chances to get a score, but the ball movement was just so unprofessional, like bunch of kids playing at school yard.
J.Lin gets them bk into the game by sheer will n determination, everyone know's he plays his best when the game is on the line n he displayed that here in this game. What drives me crazy is that they gave the ball too Harden who was ice cold that game shooting 8 for 26 n he didn't even try too win the game he settled for a contested mid range which would of been overtime once again. Does Harden not know that u should always go for the win if ur playing on ur home floor. What makes me even more bonkers is that he froze on the play cuz it looked like his first option was too hit the roll man Jones for the drive but that was blocked off, his second option was too dump it over behind him to Garcia for the 3 but again blocked off. Parsons tried too curl around doing the right thing by remaining behind 3pt line but he curled too much that he wasn't in-line for Harden too spot him but do u know who was standing in direct view of Harden, yep we can all see J.Lin standing behind the 3pt line ready as hë will ever be in the catch n shoot position eagerly anticipating the pass. Too make things even more frustrating is J.Lins defender even gave him room too be able jack up a shot cuz he had sagged off to be a help defender in case Jones did receive the ball for the drive. So instead of passing it to J.Lin for the chance at winning a crucial GM 1 at home in the playoffs. Lets just say J.Lins shot goes in, can u imagine the momentum n confidence that would of ensued on all the Rockets players cuz I guarantee you they would of beaten the Blazers for sure n who knows they probably might off even gotten deep into the playoffs. However we all saw what actually ended up happening Harden freezing up like a deer in the headlights n then shooting a stupid ass, lets not go for the win at home lets instead go for the tie so we can play some mid range contested jump shot. YaY!!! I think even D.Howard could see J.Lin was wide open n there was a real chance of winning that's why u see him consoling J.Lin.
The cardinal rule in the NBA is u always go for the win if ur playing on ur home floor. Also if ur having a terrible shooting night and u find urself pinned down unable too get a good look for the game winner. Why selfishly force up a bad shot just too tie it when instead the best option was passing to a wide open J.Lin who was feeling hot and had scored the majority of all ur teams points in OT keeping ur team in the game for a possible game winning corner 3.
Harden has to put down his ego and trust his team mates, as all maturing superstars do. How many years did MJ take before he finally learnt to pass to Paxson and later Kerr? In this context, The Beard can't be blamed for his iso plays. You could even argue he seems unhappy when Lin scores a big basket 'cos while we see PB giving love to everyone who scores, Harden walks off when Lin hits a big one like 'That should've been me'. Then again it could just be down to the video editing..LOL. But even if Harden's playing the sulky selfish superstar, who's the enabler of this mindset? Who draws up the iso plays in crunch time? Who should be stepping in to command his star's respect enough to tell him: 'Trust your team mates. Who's open? Who's hot?' McHale has to be the Phil Jackson to Harden's Jordan. Until that happens or some other coach replaces him, sorry, Rox aren't there yet...Just my two cents worth ;)
John Park Yeah exactly. I don't blame it on James Harden tho. McHale draws the plays. McFail needs to learn that ISO as the game changing choice is a dumb choice.
I just re-watched the game and the bearded ball hog may be the worst defender I have EVER seen.....at any level.....in the world. In the first half I don't recall the person Jeremy Lin was guarding.... scoring. Even the commentators were saying, "good defense by Lin" a number of times. Beverley is a defender that is good at putting pressure on the ball, but it is very very easy to blow by him and get in the paint for a score.
FCKING james harden just hadddd to be mr. big shot and dribble in to a locked area, ive seen harden miss wayyyyy too many clutch moment shots, i believe jeremy lin was doing well in this game, penetrating and penetrating that portland defense, shouldve passed it ughh
What a sorry loss! Lin almost won us this game but he needs support from Rocket's 'Superstars'. But what I don't understand are the last two plays drawn up by McHale. They were truly awful. The first play (with 17secs and Portland only ahead by '1 pt'.) was like McHale did not do any coaching at all. From out of nowhere, Harden chucked up a 3? What on earth was that? Was he not aware that they were only down by 1? This play is a Shaqtin-A-Fool moment. The final play was screwed-up as well and seemed like they don't know what they are suppose to do. Lin was not perfect in this game. In fact, he missed a couple of 'easy' layups that he usually makes. But once again, he is the definition of clutch and came up big in OT. Beverly took the risk of playing thru his injury but unfortunately he may have been reinjured. Hopefully he can recover quickly but I know that Jeremy will rise to the challenge again!
Mr Harden.. never dribble into the gut of the defense, stop dribbling without an exit .. Total Rookie Error that Jeremy Lin had to learn as well..... Ok ,, Alex,, I'll take Harden and Mcfail for the Lousy decision making ..
Rockets doomed from season start when stats put up in locker room, motivation for selfish, like me, me, me, not us, us, us. They gone fishing soon if not share the ball in next few games. What a waste of talents for Jeremy.
Isn't this the game that Lin lost for the Rockets? All he had to do was hold the ball take a foul and the game was over. But you don't show that huh? LMAO
HackADwight changed the momentum and ultimately screwed the Rockets....but Lin did not do so well in the 4th quarter. I think he had few TOs I was hoping he would attack the rim little bit more
Lin had only 2 TOs today, i think it is good enough. He would attack the rim on the premise that he had the ball, but the fact is he seldom touched the ball in the 4th quarter.
You're right, he hardly got to touch the ball in the 4th, the ball always goes through Harden, Parsons and Dwight, others including Lin just stand still in the corner, McHale got to do something about it, he has to find a way to make everyone involved.
Look at the body language of Lin at the end (8:20), when he's once again assigned to the corner, it's very obvious he knew he wouldn't get the ball at all (his hands were both down, not anticipating any pass to him). The combo of Mchale and Harden lost the game for Rockets, period.
Lin got to the hoop anytime he wanted. Williams and Lillard couldn't guard him. Lin broke many ankles.
Harden had an off night, but the coach stuck to his iso play, which cost the game. Howard's poor free throw shooting also contributed to the loss. Lin played very well, especially in OT. He was quite solid in defense although it was not shown in the stats.
Lin is easily the best defensive perimeter player on Houston....easily.
Thanks for posting a long Lin highlights!
The bearded ball hog was 8 for 28 from the field and 3 for 14 from the 3 point line. He never thought to pass and never hesitated to shoot. He is no longer carmello jr.....he is carmello.

Thx for the quick upload. what a pity.. Rocket was beaten by only 2 pts (T.T)
Great job!
Thanks a lot for the upload.
@6:24 JLin blew by Lillard for 2pts plus and one beautiful!!
Jeremy Lin really stepped up his game in ot. Too bad rockets loss. Goodluck next game.
U give this squad to Pop, Doc, Thib and it's championship contender. Under Mchale at most make R2. Quality of coach is as important as player talents.
Harden plays garbage all game and you give him the final shot, genius
And then again... Lin never gets mentioned in any of the Rockets news and highlight. The fuck is going on?
3h4life lol 7 points in OT....
On the NBA highlights of rockets vs. Blazers, despite only making 8 of 28 shots and fully responsible for losing this game, all of Harden made shots were highlighted. And Jeremy Lin got the only TO highlight. Talking about bias.

3h4life you are fucking ridiculous if you're saying "Lin missed ONE pivotal shot that caused a game" you should look at Harden's stats, idiot.
it is actually nice to watch lin play. he don't rush thing.
He actually made dwight and parson a lot better in this series.
Harden on the other hand is kinda horrible

Mcfail hated Lin and exaggerated his lack of defensive skills as a propaganda to minimize Lin stats and to destroy his confidence.

Putting the name Mchale and Phil Jackson in the same sentence is already an insult to Jackson. Mchale is not even on the level of JVG or Adelman
4:29 the way Lin fell, I thought he'd fainted lol
Harden could have easily threw it to Parsons for an open 3 to seal off the game.
or Jeremy haha they were bot WIDEOPEN. i mean WIIIIIIIIDEOPEN!
John Park Yeah exactly. I don't blame it on James Harden tho. McHale draws the plays. McFail needs to learn that ISO as the game changing choice is a dumb choice.
Cheng Vang I was still amazed that he kept Howard in and the lead went down to 5...
3:24 Hcfail says ... they get a little 3 happy,, well next year they are really going to be 3 happy without Jeremy Lin's penetration
why the hell they let harden to close the game while lin is hot?
just one lose
rockets fighting!!
Dwight Howard: 9-21
James Harden: 8-28, 3-14 from three
LMAO
Damned Harden , selfishly held on last shot and trying to be hero and others waiting with open shot . watch disappointment on Jeremy and Parson..
NOOOOO I WAS CHEERING FOR ROCKETS
I WAS SOOOO HAPPY
BUT...
THE END....
WHATS THAT SHIT!!!
.. i'd like to see Jeremy dunk one of those shots, when driving to the rim ! That would really pump up the crowd !
Lin's play was good but too sad with no reward with big loss.
Jeremy played a good game.
How did we not win this game in regulation?
Wtf with harden at last
He should pass the ball!
I just re-watched the game and the bearded ball hog may be the worst defender I have EVER seen.....at any level.....in the world.

Don't be shy Lin!
You gotta to guard James Harden more if you want to win.
Jeremy Lin was open. They should have pass it to him.Jeremy Lin Could have made the shot
I still dont understand how the rockets lost this series lol
Harden left his ball in Kardanshan's bed.
Watch James Harden, Defensive Juggernaut

FCKING james harden just hadddd to be mr. big shot and dribble in to a locked area, ive seen harden miss wayyyyy too many clutch moment shots, i believe jeremy lin was doing well in this game, penetrating and penetrating that portland defense, shouldve passed it ughh
Gosh! Harden should pass to Lin for the last shot.
I like Jeremy Lin but he caused this game with his crazy turnover in regulation. This game should be a Rockets victory in regulation.
Why the fuck rockets lost this game , and this series ? God damn ...
This "TRIP" dude are you lost??? This is ain't Harden or Beverly Highlights, man go somewhere else your opinions are annoying.
that save doe
GO PORTLAND!
What a sorry loss! Lin almost won us this game but he needs support from Rocket's 'Superstars'.

dey fukn up
Nice "play" Mcfail
pit d mo on lopez. howard on aldriedge.
what is that thumbnail..?
James Harden was disappointing at that time
Mr Harden.. never dribble into the gut of the defense, stop dribbling without an exit .. Total Rookie Error that Jeremy Lin had to learn as well..... Ok ,, Alex,, I'll take Harden and Mcfail for the Lousy decision making ..
last shot....................wtfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
harden 6-28
mcfail make his coaching stlye looks like amature... never win a champion if this how he run his d and o... demand his firing next after the playoff
Rockets doomed from season start when stats put up in locker room, motivation for selfish, like me, me, me, not us, us, us. They gone fishing soon if not share the ball in next few games. What a waste of talents for Jeremy.
well if you have harden and mcfail, ur game is always screwed just like magic lol
哈登永远没有冠军的心,关键时刻掉链子Harden will never have the heart of a champion, and the chain will fall off at the critical moment
Isn't this the game that Lin lost for the Rockets? All he had to do was hold the ball take a foul and the game was over. But you don't show that huh? LMAO
i think that game was game four people blamed him for. this is the game harden choked twice.
Go rockets!
LO…W
What a horrible play at the end of the game. No spacing with the screen, can't even get an iso...
Lin>harden
harden and parson = mcfail.
Lin could be better the Jordan and Lebron James combine. Because this is a Black league and the most racist, a china man will never have a chance.
trash man Lin cost us the series
HackADwight changed the momentum and ultimately screwed the Rockets....but Lin did not do so well in the 4th quarter. I think he had few TOs

They should bench Howard when they start doing Hackahoward, then bring him back in last 2 mins.
It's hard to attack the rim if his team doesn't put the ball in his hands more often. Just saying.
Damned Harden , selfishly held on last shot and trying to be hero and others waiting with open shot . watch disappointment on Jeremy and Parson..
