Simply beautiful music. I can tell this is from Falstaff because it is talking about the story of play. I performed in Verdi's Falstaff, and it almost directly follows the story of that opera. Just in Italian of course. Also, the epilogue chorus mirrors Verdi's famous double fugue from the end of the opera (Tutto nel mondo e burla). Pretty cool I think.
Part I: The Conspiracy Part II: Drinking Song - 2:38 Part III: Falstaff and the Fairies - 6:03 Part IV: Wedding Chorus - 11:21 Part V: Epilogue - 16:57 I found it helpful to know the time each part starts when rehearsing this for a performance. If I just wanted to go over one section, I knew where it would start.
I was in it school choir and performed this in 1972, over 50 years ago. The music is as timeless now as it was then.
Absolutely stunning performance! Thank you for sharing this, Peggy Hua.
