Sohum, I'm glad you reacted to "At The Drop Of A Hat". This underwear and underappreviated gem is a favorite every time I hear it. The harmonization on this song is incredible. Then you had the experience of hearing Alexej's beautiful cello rendition of the song. His many cello renditions of Band-Maid's songs are a joyous reminder of how musically talented these five young women (especially Kanami) are.
Very well stated, William 👍 Totally agree with everything , especially how talented the Ladies are and Kanami-sensei in particular
Thank you 🙏
Not only is Alexej an awesome cellist, he's also a Maidiac & great friend too. He dressed up as a banana to see BAND-MAID play Tokyo Garden & a lovely woman who singled him out to talk to him turned out to be Akane's mum.🤗
Really
@MnPofBM Yep. He even showed me the photos.😁

@@MnPofBM Hey if you find a really old comment from me where i have no replies, you can leave your gmail there & as soon as l get it i'll give you a thumbs up👍 & then you delete your comment immediately :)
@ looking for you comments with no reply? Are you kidding me?
Yes, that was Miku at the beginning but was singing an octave higher. It’s usually easier to hear it, or at least to recognize it, when she sings harmony. Her subtle touches are always a treat and for me an absolute part of the Band-Maid sound.
Thank you for checking out Alexej's video, he is a great person, an incredibly talented cellist, and his arrangements are brilliant.
@@markhayes9004 Hiya Mark.🙂👋 I'll reply to you soon but i've had some health issues recently :(
Thank you, Mark 🙏 You are a great person and the true Maidiac.
AlexJ is so great. He's covered *many* BM songs
Kanami's compositional background as a classically trained musician really shines through.
Thank you 🙏
Totally agree about Kanami-sensei.
Alexj is an amazing artist, and he's done quite a few Band-Maid covers that I've enjoyed immensely over the years. His compositions of Band-Maid for cello are really beautiful, and I can only imagine Kanami's joy upon hearing them. As for the song itself, it's one of the band's slower, more atmospheric songs that I love to hear as much as their more common hard rock sound. Many fans would prefer Band-Maid to stay in the hard rock lane, but I love it when they go off road and drag some of their more sweaty hard rock fans across such more poppy, alternative, atmospheric soundscapes. Saiki is such a versatile singer that it seems like Kanami enjoys composing songs across a wide range of genres.
Thank you, my friend 🙏 Appreciate it. I really hope Kanami-sensei was able to watched my videos and enjoyed them.
I like the diversity of Band-Maid's music and really glad they still able to add something new, to involve style/genre they have never been in before.
@@alexejbagrintsev I feel pretty certain that Kanami has seen them. Her bandmates would have brought them to her attention, and given her love of classical music, I'm pretty sure it brought tears to her eyes. Now if you're cello was a PRS, I'm sure she cried (hehe)!
@@drogonr9318I've done a lot of covers and I always celebrate all the members, so The Ladies probably know me as a musician, particularly Kanami-sensei. I know she has a very subtle feeling for music, however I wouldn't want her to cry but smile ☝️
Nope, she would give me a thumbs up 🙂
One of my fav mid-tempo Band-Maid songs, PO!🕊💕
Alexej-san's cello covers of Band-Maid songs are always awesome!
POPOPOPOPOPOPO
Thank you, Kuni-san 🙏 It is one of my favorite mid-tempo songs too 🕊️
I love listening to Alexej's arrangements and performances of Maids songs. My favorite version he does is for Warning. Listening to it I can really feel Kanami's classical roots shining through.
Thank you 🙏
Glad my cover helped to highlight it.
The studio version is a piece of REAL music from Kanami. You can almost hear a full orchestra playing this. Probably why the cello cover was chosen. Orchestrated music is where Kanami will end up finally- film scores, and original music. Many of Band-Maids songs recently have orchestral sounding intros on the backing tracks or played by Kanami solo especially live. And now we have Saiki as well as Kanami playing piano. I still feel as though the current style of band composition by Kanami is a stepping stone to something else she has in mind for later.
There is also an acoustic version from the 2021 Acoustic Concert, it was the 2nd song.
Alexj is awesome , he's got more covers , his bestie is outstanding
Thank you, Bartocz 🙏You are an awesome guy.
I really want to see this song ATDAH live. But happy for now because I already got to see PAGE live. 😊
You are lucky! Which Okyuji was it?
@ The recent one (4 days ago)Liquidroom. They played 6/7 softer songs in this Okyuji
@@MnPofBM Awesome 👌 Are you gonna attend more shows?
Goosebumps in both renditions! Thanks for sharing your reaction.
No problem 😊
Thank you 🙏 Original song is so good and I like acoustic version as well.
Hello Sohum,
Thank you very much for reacting to this beautiful, but unfortunately rarely performed song and to my cover. And thank you for request, Kirk 🤝
Regarding pizzicato : it is usually played in the lower part of the fingerboard, rarely - above, and never near the bridge.
As for recording - I used metronome, but since there were only 3 parts I reduced the volume to like 20%, otherwise the click would be audible. This recording was the first one when I used a dedicated mic, Garage Band and audio interface, therefore I didn't use all the settings I could and there is some noise in transition (sorry for that) . For now I've done 29 songs, some of them twice (Bubble and Daydreaming) and I will be glad if you will check them 🙂
Best regards,
Alexej.
I love Alexej's Band-Maid covers with cello. They are like the palette cleansers of these wonderful B-M songs that clear out all the ornamentations and arrangements to reveal the beauty and purity of Kanami's original melodies. These covers are a must accompaniments to the B-M catalog, Thank you Alexej.
Some AlexJ interpretations have five parts. Check out his wonderful channel. It’s a tribute to KANAMI’s abilities as a composer.
Thank you, Greg 🙏
To be honest, there are often more parts (up to 15) , but I prefer to record three videos, cause it is more convenient to watch. 5 are OK, but it is only on a special occasion.
Thank you *Sohum* for doing my request. 🍺😁
You're most welcome, it was my pleasure :)
Arigato Vambot.😌
Thank you for requesting the original and my cover, Kirk 🙂🙏
Alexej is an amazing cellist and brilliant arranger, and he's done many extraordinary Band-Maid covers. I'd recommend anything else he's done. (btw, pretty sure Alexej is pronounce more like Alexei / Alexay).
Thank you, Phil 🙏
You are a great guy and a true Maidiac.
Yes, it is the correct pronunciation.
🤘🤘
Am I high (given that I don't take drugs, I'm thinking no), or does this one have a Celtic feel to it in the chorus?
🕊️👀❤️🇯🇵🥰🍻
