The reason area looks shabby is because most people think that cars still move on the streets, rim, shoes and nail are still visible but houses are immutable and only known to people in the area.
My hometown, I used to live in those apartments at 7:22,my uncle used to own those,now they're renovated. I used to go to Danny's seafood across the street from there. Back in the 90s they had the best seafood boil,before it became so popular like now. I used to get the baked potato, crawfish, corn and smoke sausage. High school memories. R.I.P. to all the friends I lost from that area.
I don't like the gentrification much it gives a different vibe to it I still love my city though I was there last month to make Mardi gras Footages along with driving videos aswell i drove though Uptown mid-city st claude lower 9 ward and Algiers and my Old Community New Orleans East .
The only thing weird about these videos to me is when you start to see nice homes you turn the camera or switch scenes. Show the entirety of the neighborhood so we can all see the contrast because it is interesting to see people build brand new homes near abandoned and burned down ones. It shows the strength and the love people have for their neighborhoods despite it’s problems.
