Hello everyone! I've started a second channel and I'd love it if you could check out my new video "I learned to Forge Steel"! I had so much fun making it. ruclips.net/video/KVlqmS_AFMs/видео.html
R.I.P, Charles Bradley. One of the most emotional singers I've heard.
If you want someone even more emotional you should check out Dir En Grey, Kyo is such an amazing vocalist and very expressive. I'd recommend the song "Ware, yami tote..."
you haven't heard many i see...............
May he Rest In Peace 🙏🏿
Jeff Buckley
@@thanosdarkseid8695 wtf kinda statement is that
I got a big ol' hug from Charles Bradley in Philly. At the end of his show he came out into the crowd and generously distributed hugs to anybody who wanted one. It was amazing.
I have ZERO PROBLEM with believing this.
Charles was more than a human being. He was.....beautiful.
This guy was so blessed
Roger Mars wish I could have seen him
You're a lucky man
Roger Mars was good to have you guys just got home and we are still going on a date with you and you can come home tonight or you grab me some food 🥘 I have been to this for two days now I’m just retired now and I’m still not sure 🤔 I know he said I don’t need you and I just got a text and I just saw the message and I’ll call ya back in the office
This is one of my favorite performances ever. When he whimpers "Mama", it always rips my heart right in half.
He says it at the same points I say mama...
I only liked it to get to 200
😢😪😭
Let this be a lesson: Black Sabbath is music for everyone.
Hey! Here is my reaction to Black Sabbath: ruclips.net/video/A02dRqGc7tA/видео.html
Its BLUES! just sped up and heavier. Just. Listened to thier 1st album for the 1st time a few years ago. Now I see where rock came from...
@@rodneynoble6046 Metal, where metal came from, rock is the general name, wich is not all influenced by bleus.
@@MrShadowofthewind false
@@ericb4898 Whatever.
I'm a 400 pound old school metal head this version of this song brings me to tears. He does just sing with soul he sings to your soul. I'm so happy it was recorded
He could sing VCR instructions and I’d cry.
"BEEEEEE KIND, AND ALWAYS, REEEWIIINNNNNNDDDDDD, mama......" XD
bet
I think he would find this funny if he was still here.
Hahahaha
They call it soul music for a reason.
You get to see the singer's.
And it rips your's apart.
Amazingly apt description. It’s so true. I lost my sister years ago, she was 34 and it was liver failure from drinking. I never really got to mourn or get my emotions out, I find myself face to face with those emotions as I hear this song. Thank you Charles. RIP
Steven D. Bumgarner take your time for that :)
At least he is reunited with his mother now. A sad loss for the world of music, but in a way, almost a relief on his behalf.
And his brother.............
Unfortunately he’s actually just rotting in the ground. There is no afterlife
I don’t wanna lose my mama bro, idk what I’d without her 💔😭
Lost my mom a year ago and regret not being able to see her one more alive due to her living on another state. I cant explain it but it's a pain that stays with you. My point is hug her everyday and let her know how much you love her.
Listen to this song, and cry a lot.
You better hug her every chance you get bro I don't wanna lose my mom either but one day death it's gonna come for us all gotta have the 3 Ls bro with you as much as you can LOVE live & laugh
I lost my mom 16 years ago. It never stops hurting.
I was raised by my grandparents on my mom's side.
Within 5 years I lost both of them, and my mom too. This last year has really been rough, because now I'm in a situation that I can't confirm anything from my past. I'm the only one left.
And since I can't have kids, my name dies with me.
Without question the single most powerful performance I've ever witnessed.
This song is one of the most powerful performances ever captured; a moment that have could have been aired live on the radio once and never heard again.
It really is I agree x
He has been through so much ! He was living homeless for a long time being a James brown impersonator ! Only when he was 60 did he ever release a single . He died not shortly after . One of my favorite artists and a gem . My favorite of his and one of my favorite songs of all time is “heartaches and pain “.
man I love that song
I'm a nearly 50 year old man who grew up listening to this song and I always felt it. Growing up and losing people thought life changes (no pun intended) how thing "hit" you. I haven't listened to this in years because I lost my girlfriend to a brain hemorrhage in 2003. This is the first time I have in ages and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Cried. Literally sobbed at this man's version of the song. It felt good to cry honestly. I miss her still. Thanks for posting this Beth. I didn't realize how much healing I still need to do. Love your channel. Love your reactions and your insight. And lastly... I love and miss you Theresa. My beautiful angel. ❤️
Thank you for your beautiful message. xxxxx
Sorry for your loss, brother. ✌
@@thebandsoul7836 Thank you man.
You got me crying again Brother damn I knew the song beforehand but still I broke down. Made my Think of my Mother she died when I was 18 five years ago. Changes indeed. Sharing sometimes is healing, Music definetly is, I whish you all the best and that your wounds will heal.
@@FxBrour Thanks buddy. I appreciate that. I don't normally share like that but that day it just came out. And music definitely is a healer. I don't know where I'd be without it. And my condolences to you for the loss of your mom. I can't imagine. I'm lucky enough to still have my mother here. But you'll be ok man. Don't be afraid to cry. Don't be afraid to share with others when you hit a rough spot. Lean on your friends/family. They love you and will understand and help you through it. Ok? Thanks again and take care of yourself.👍
I miss Charles badly everyday, what a human being. This dude was a gift from heaven.
Charles was a very kind soul> I was able to meet him once before one of his shows. He was walking around talking to people and thanking them for coming to the show. I was able to talk to him for about 10 mins. It was actually my birthday and I went to the show by myself. I told him that and he was taken back that I wanted to see him on my birthday. I was able to get a picture of the both of us. I was very sad to hear of his passing. There is a reason why he was called the Screaming Eagle of Soul. He will be missed.
"I'm gonna need a nap because my emotion's been drained.."
We feel you, Beth. We feel you.
Man, I came into this "TOTALLY ANGRY".....never heard of this guy before and you're going to react to one of the most rarest, emotional, coveted Sabbath songs there is....(by someone doing a cover????)
I was like...."Are you fu**ing kidding me"????
And, then I listened to it....
And, I'm still wiping the tears away......
Once again, I am reminded how narrowmindedness can be destructive.....
I had heard Bradley but when this cover was released I had the wtf reaction before listening. The song spoke to him so he made it his.
Dude check out Son House John The Revelator
Sometimes people make other peoples songs theirs. Such as Johnny Cash did with Nine Inch Nails song Hurt.

He was also the singing voice for Krampus on American Dad.
That's where I discovered him.
An amazing krampus

Charles Bradley was such a wonderful guy.
Sad that he died so soon after he found the success he deserves.
Oh! Charles Bradley ❤ (R.I.P) and I totally recommend the documental called "Charles Bradley: Soul of america" 💕
I'll check it out, thanks!
I had the rare priveledge of seeing him live in Baltimore, Maryland not too long before he passed. After the incredible show, he proceeded to leave the stage and hug every member of the crowd covered in sweat, tears, and emotion. I've never felt a performance like that, and never will again.
Charles Bradley nailed this version. He was such a legend. Tingles and chills everytime I hear him.
7:50 The moment a Coach realizes she's still a Student
I went to see him in Portland by myself, and he tried to hug as many people as he could get to in the audience at the end of the show. He was the most grateful, beautiful artist I've seen live. RIP
I'm a HARD CORE Black Sabbath fan,and I ball like a BABY,when this man sings this song!!! OMG! Ozzy should be proud!
I found this cover a few months after he died. I almost cried when I found out. He's also the voice of Krampus on American Dad.
as much as this would be nice, it was actually Danny Glover ( guy that did Predator 2 and Lethal Weapon )
ValaRose, Danny Glover was the speaking voice, Charles Bradley did the singing voice. Your correction is invalid.
I had never heard of this man before Luke Cage. I can't thank that show enough for introducing me to him.
I've never seen Luke Cage but it looks like it has a great soundtrack based on a lot of great song's comment sections
I listen to this version very often. His soul resonates
"That's what singing is all about it, isn't it?" Yes ma'am it is. Well done.
Mr. Bradley had a sad life and wasn't recognized until later in his life. R.I.P Charles...
Like all the greatest artists sadly
He’s “The Screaming Eagle of Soul”
“It isnt perfect, its human. Its perfectly human” is probably one of the most incredible off the cuff quotes ive heard, boastfully and yet humbly spoken.
I’ve heard it a couple times before, I think that last time was in courage the cowardly dog
I dont need a vocal coach to tell me Charles was a good singer haha
Q truth
Some people do...
Great singer
And yet here you are.
@@normie2716 well we dont mind a vocal coach calling him a good singer though lol
Charles Bradley is one of my favourites still sad I didn't get to see him live. His story is a great late life success story such a inspirational guy rip Charles Bradley
“Perfectly human”, I like that
As you said, he really did go through it. He has a very unique story. He didn't become famous until his 50's and then all the complications of hard living to get to where he was as a signer took him to an early grave. We miss him, and really need him right now.
Oh shit, I teared up when you teared up, I just like that you get technical but still appreciate the moments when they're presented, it's really lovely, keep doing what you're doing
He cried almost every time that sing it and this video brakes my heart every time i watch it.
Check Lee fields- i wish you we're here - live in KEXP, it's a great song
Same guy on guitar on that KEXP video.
I found this version shortly before losing my mother on January 1st 2019. Its always been one of my favorite songs but his version hit me sooo much harder once my mother was gone. It's a shame this man wasnt discovered sooner. So much heart and love and soul in his voice.
Hey, man I really hope you've been doing alright since, stay strong buddy, my thoughts are genuinely with you
So you're telling me the intro song for "Big Mouth" was originally a Black Sabbath song? Mind BLOWN!!!
And a poorly chosen intro song when it's about losing a loved one.
@@xanderholland6086 Well, they only used the chorus "going through changes" which is right for the show, but not the rest of the song
I searched up the song because of the show and now I’m like :-/
He was also Krampus on American Dad there’s a song he sang with Steve that was great!
WHAT A VOICE!! "The screaming eagle of soul" Sadly underappreciated when he was alive. RIP
This performance is unbelievable. RIP Charles. I hope your mom was there to meet you.
I've been waiting for this one. I knew you'd come across it sooner or later. A beautiful showcase of soul.
This is singly one of the most raw and emotional performances I have ever seen. Every time I watch this I cry... What a beautiful man Charles was.
I have been obsessed with this song along with other original songs he does. Charles Bradley has a voice that will cut right through you. I can't listen to this song without tearing up. As you said, he has lived. It's in his voice and tone. He wears it on his sleeve. I looked to see if he was still performing and found that he passed away. I would have given anything to see him perform live. This is what music is about. Thank you for your reaction!!
How Can he sing while crying. ?
My throat breaks when I get emotional while singing hahah
I sing a lot, I cry a lot too. The trick is determination, it's really hard to hold a steady note when you're unsteady. Let the emotion flow cleanly through your music so that once you're done you can collapse, a shuddering wreck of emotions without hindering the song.
Vaughan Roderick Thanks man, I'm not a singer but I appreciated that.
Vaughan Roderick yep ❤️💔❤️. You have to accept the strangled sob and sing through that shit. I sang at my friend’s funeral, and sobbed through the whole thing. It’s hard as hell, but with practice, you too can cry/sing. 💕
Crazy you can feel that emotion in his voice like a punch in your chest. Great cover
Everytime i listen to this song I always send my mom an i love you text. Whenever I see her I give her a hug and hold her tight. Music like this makes me really appreciate how slow time is and how much we time we really do have with each other. Nothing but love.
I played this for my mom 6 months after her mom passed away from cancer I remember hugging her and crying while we listened this song is truly powerful and emtional
Charles Bradley was for me very important to me, like you say "we can notice what he's lived" because he really did have a very difficult life. I remember crying so much when I knew he passed away.. like a close family member was gone... R.I.P. Charles !
I was introduced to him when he covered the Nirvana song "Stay Away." Took it in a totally different direction... but it was awesome.
Can't believe I just found this guy and now I'm lookin all over for him!! And I find out he has passed away..sitting in a customers car at work and heard this and balled my eyes out uncontrollably!!!
Charles is not SINGING, his SOUL IS CRYING. RIP Brah! This is a SOUL Ripper. Cant imitate it.
' I have a feeling his voice will be souly' he was the screaming eagle of soul! R.I.P Charles Bradley
The first time I heard this song, I was speechless with tears in my eyes. It is so powerful.
One of the best comments, from the original video on RUclips is, "This is the rawest expression of the human soul available online."
Cannot agree more. RIP Charles Bradley.
RIP charles bradley this guy was the reason why i got into blues
The screaming eagle of soul, what a performance!
She paused this at 2:34 her time, to say something, and I already had tears streaming down my face.
Thank you @bethroars for doing this. And thank you Charles Bradley for giving the world something it needed. Rest in peace
Thanks for bringing this version of this song forward. I only heard it for the first time almost 2 years ago before my mother passing away, and its my go to song when I really need a break out cry.
He died!? Wtf.. now my day is ruined😔😔😔😔 never heard of him until now. How have I never heard of him. I need to know more.
You should definitely check him out! Inspiring life story. It explains why it rips through your heart when you hear him sing. (But he also really enjoyed singing because it was a late calling if I remember correctly.)
The story of Charles Bradley an inspiring one more than anything. He was born into poverty, worked hard all his life, and worked his way up from the bottom. He sang for most of his life, often while working other jobs, and didn't really make any money or garner any fame at all until about 2010, by which point he was already in his 60s. He died in 2017, but those seven years in between justified all the hard work and sacrifice. He got a record contract, recorded albums, toured huge festivals, got the fame that was long overdue, appeared in TV shows like Luke Cage, and died surrounded by his friends, family, and the musicians he'd worked with those seven years, doing what he loved. And he leaves behind a legacy, a great story, and some of the most amazing music you could ever hope to hear.
He has an amazing story
I had only heard of him a few years back when he voiced the Krampus in an episode of American Dad. I was like...WHO IS THIS!? Had no idea he had passed
bloocheez3 I heard of him from big mouth he was such a great singer
The Screaming Eagle of Soul. May this irreplaceable man rest in peace. Glad this was suggested, because he was just becoming more known until he succumbed to his cancer. Warms my heart to hear his voice!
I remember when this video came on youtube, I watched it repeatedly, coming back days and weeks later just to hear it.
I am glad You checked it out
thank-you
Perfectly Human.
That was beautiful.
The Screamin' Eagle!! 100% soul, this guy is in his own league.
Ryan Murray his voice wasnt pretty likr sam cooke or smoothe like Otis it was so so raw and real and full of pain. One of the best Soul singers of all time Made some of the best modern day Oldies he just seemed like such a nice cool guy too. RIP CHARLES BRADLEY
I miss this man so much. I feel very lucky to have seen him live.
I saw him for the first time at jazz fest and was blown away. Rip Charles.
Seeing him at Glastonbury festival in 2014 was one of the highlights of that year. Rarely have i seen a performer who was so gratefull and happy to be on stage. We were standing in the pouring rain and everyone was mesmerised!
This was an amazing version of Changes. I'm a huge Black Sabbath fan and didn't think anyone other than OZZY could do this song justice but I was wrong. ❤️❤️🖤🖤🖤💋💋💋
This is one of my favorite songs along with Lee Feilds "Wish You We Here".
Thanks for this, RIP Charles one of the all time greats. I’ve had tickets to see him twice, and was never able to. When he first got sick and had to cancel, and a few years later, when he passed away. It kills me every time I hear him still. 😢
If a heart breaking had a sound, it is that scream. That's blues vocals done right. You can almost hear his tears and wailing in the vocal delivery.
God rest him he was truly amazing and never got the recognition he deserved
His cover of nirvana stay is amazing too. He was an epic tallent and deserved even more success.
You can feel the love from his soul when he sings. Rest In Peace brother
YES!!! I was hoping that you would be reacting to this cover. Charles Bradley is a very talented singer. He has so much soul, and you can really see the heartache, pain, and hardships that he has gone through in his life.
It does touch souls it made me appreciate my mother more
Wow he had very powerful vocals at least he's with his mother now I'd like to think that. Great reaction Beth
First Father’s Day without my dad haven’t stop playing this song the last couple of days We’re all human we all go through the same pains just in our own ways
😢
Absolutely, this is my first Father’s Day without my father too. Stay strong and honor them by remembering all the good times you’ve spent together.
Quality assessment of his voice. Charles is such a gifted singer. Some things you cannot replicate.
Very lucky that I was able to see him live at a festival he was amazing , great performer.
Bullshit
So much soul on this... I've cried here too o/
I get goosebumps every time i hear this song it's just so perfect for anyone to understand and take it for there own life.
He moves me, grips me and shreds me to pieces. What an artist!
When I first heard this song I just broke up in a long relationship and I cry like a baby
" I feel like I'm going to need a nap" lol
I love the original version. This is just something else! He really made it his own in a special way. RIP Mr. Bradley. Thank you for reacting to this Beth!
There’s so much I want to say about you and the way you really appreciated his version and the way it moved you. I’m so happy that you felt him and were still able to see the complexity in his vocals. You are not just a critic but you feel the sounds and I hope you keep doing this for a long long time.
Love you mom. Thanks Beth, been waiting for this one a while now.
Changes = maybe my least favorite Sabbath song
Charles Bradley's Changes = God I love this Black Sabbath song
I feel like the first version of his version of the song that I heard was slower, and that just let him lay into the words so much more heavily.
Yes, I actually requested this a month or so ago I think! Glad to see you do it! ☺️
I found this song like 2 years ago. And I literally get chills every time I hear it.
Look up why is it so hard also a great Charles Bradley song.
"I mean this is what singin' is about isn't it?"
Yup.
Don't be afraid to show your emotions, it's beautiful. There is nothing to be ashamed of, it's what makes us human.
Yeah can we do it with a smile thought? To show some short intelligence :']
Thank you for reacting to such a beautiful cover. R.I.P Charles Bradley.
I was fortunate enough to see him perform live and this song left everyone with a tear in their eyes. One of the best performances I'd ever seen.
