I had the pleasure of being a personal friend of Charles he played a veterans festival for me before he became big he used to travel as black velvet the worlds best James Brown impersonator. But he was so much more than that in such a genuine human being. I got to watch him have his first top 10 album on Rolling Stone when he was in his 60s.Watch the Netflix documentary on him called soul of America it is fantastic
Bless you and i wish i was there honestly u got to be apart of history and more importanly uave a great freind i hope your doin well and continue to do so
My momma just passed away from complications from covid. She turned 53 in a hospital bed fully sedated, on a ventilator and a machine that circulated her blood for her. She fought until God said it was time to come home. It's been two weeks, but it feels like forever. This song is just as beautiful as he sang it because it hits home in many ways. Thank you for reviewing this song. She was a big fan of yours, and in turn I have become a big fan. So this a bitter sweet moment thank you.
It's like this man took us to that place of how special our relationships are with our mothers. He was singing as an older man but as a five year old too.
There are only a handful of covers equal to or surpassing the original and the late Charles Bradley performing Changes is one of those artists to do so.
@@georgewest1835 ...first time I heard this wailing version...pure emotion...and now I just found out he passed....what a sweet talented Soul.Safe Passage...Mr Bradley. ❤️🌈
John Farnham covering HELP by The Beatles is another. Even McCartney said it was a better version & how it should have been done originally. That's wicked praise right there. Can't think of any others off top of my head..
Oh, yes! I accidentally Googled Charles Bradley while typing in my own name, lol! I love his music! RIP to the Screaming Eagle of Soul, Charles Bradley!
This was PRIMAL! Man, it got me all the way down past my soul into my spirit. This is why I follow you, Brother Jamel... you are always giving us these hidden gems. Peace and Love, Brother.
OMG....his soul crying out, literally. Wow, just wow. That emotion he feels he's able to sing, had me choked up. My mom is going through cancer and I felt every word he sang.
Jamel, I saw this spectacular and very special man his last show in Seattle before he passed on. And his POWER live was just.... indescribable. His voice went through you and it was something you could feel. It was amazing.
Love your Aura my friend.. ✊🏼Charles popped up on RUclips one day… I was amazed and wondered why the heck I hadn’t heard him before…. I asked Siri how old Charles was.. He had passed the day before… 🙏🏼✊🏼 Been listening often since R.I.P. ….still get those goosebumps
If I could like this video a million times I would. I couldn't help but shed tears throughout his whole performance. I felt what he was singing on the deepest level possible , because I lost my mother a year and a half ago from a heart attack. I'm only 21 years old. My mother, she was only 45, and raised me and my two siblings by herself working her ass off everyday just to feed us. I made it my goal in life to make her happy, but she was taken from me before I could pay her back. I'm still going through changes. Never forget to tell your mama you love her, never stay mad. Hold her tight right now, because when she's gone you're never the same.
I never knew Mr. Bradley until he sang as Krampus on American Dad. I started listening to him and he stole my heart and put fire in my soul. His version of this song knowing why it meant so much to him, it blew me away. I'm thankful we still have his music to carry us on even though he can't cheers with us. Amazing singer. One of my favorites.
Meeting Charles shortly before he passed was one of the greatest things to happen to me. He was the most friendly most TRUE person I have ever met in my entire life! Just loved everyone and life! RIP CHARLES!!! You were the best!
I can never hold back the tears every time I listen to this cover Cuz I just cant imagine the day when she will be gone from me forever never to see and hear her beautiful soul I just cant Shes my best friend :')
Thank you for finally getting to the one and only Charles Bradley. Please explore more of his music. He was such an amazing performer. The man poured his heart and soul into every song. Maybe give "Loving You Baby", "Victim of Love" or "Nobody But You" a listen 🙏❤
As a life long Black Sabbath fan, this man was absolutely meant to sing this song, Charles took an already great song created something truly special, his soul just took over and created a masterpiece, Rest Well Sir.....
He owned this song,i watched the video numerous times since i came across it. Its always been one of my fav sabbath songs. I love this version too. It hits hard when he sings it. Love it
Artistic and musical genius from both Ozzie and Charles. To take something that everyone on planet earth can relate to and share it in such a special way is simply spiritual.
Soul shaking, nothing less. Every scream felt like the Lord was talking to my spirit. Thank you so much for turning me on to this, I’ll be listening to it often. Stay blessed brother💜🙏💜🤘🏿🎵💜
What courage to strip your soul bare naked in front of the whole world in order to share feelings and to accompany others who are/were on the same road. And shout out to Jamals´ deeply felt comment at the end!
Holy moly. I gave not heard that song before. This is beautifully done. I can't for one minute believe this us a black Sabbath song? Mr. Bradley killed it!!
We knew Charles as "Black Velvet" & he performed as a James Brown impersonator for years. I was so glad when after years of struggling locally, Charles was "discovered" by The Menahan Street Band/Daptone/Durham Records & the next thing that I knew, Charles was performing to adoring crowds over in the UK. Sadly, just as he was receiving acclaim, he died a few short years later. I found him to be a very humble & nice guy. I covered James Brown's funeral at the Apollo & Charles showed up in a white fur coat & everyone was asking him to pose for pictures under the marquee. It's sad that he's gone, but I'm happy that he got to see that he was appreciated beyond NYC, after so many years of working small clubs & events. R.I.P., my brother!
*"MASTERFUL!" ... period. Brought Tears to My Eyes from the Shear Beauty of its Deep Soulfulness from both Charles' Voice and the One Guitar. Oh Lord Above, I will never forget this.*
I've watched this cover on a few reaction videos and have found myself dropping tears everytime... This is my last one! My soul needs to heal... RIP Charles Bradley.. I hope there's a heaven and you're laughing and singing this song to your mother right now.
Wow Jamel, beautiful reaction. This got me right down to my soul as I can see it did to you. Such deep emotions in his voice. Rest in Peace Charles Bradley.
Good Lord, I've come back and listened to this cover so many times since I lost my momma two years ago. I don't care where I'm at emotionally, when he calls out to his momma in that second verse I break down every damn time. He was talking to her. That man sang that song with his whole soul and you can feel it. There is a Charles Bradley shaped hole in the world today man. RIP
WOW I lost my husband of forty years six years ago and for the first three years I literally screamed liked that! WOW that’s was amazing! Thanks Jamel you’re the best!

Yeah, I've always said that. Thats not sweat, his soul, his spirit, his whole body is crying.
I'm a huge Black Sabbath fan but Bradley really made this song his own. Amazing, powerful performance!

I will be watching that. Thank you!
The tone of the guitar, is so complimentary, to his voice. Makes the whole experience much more.
Bradley had a way of ripping out a person's soul and giving them something even more precious every time he sang. Such a brutal, beautiful artist.
Brutal and beautiful...I like that summary. His life was brutal but he created beauty out of it.
My momma just passed away from complications from covid. She turned 53 in a hospital bed fully sedated, on a ventilator and a machine that circulated her blood for her. Hope healing love has consumed you... I'm so sorry for your loss ❤️🙏
I lost my grandmother to cancer back in 2016 and when I hear his cover I think of her. I cry everytime I hear it. I miss her so much.

The Screaming Eagle! That man sang that song with every bit of himself! RIP Mr. Bradley

Truly wonderful artist, I am constantly proselytizing about Charles Bradley's music
Charles Bradley was a damn treasure. Taken from us just when we got to know him.
Oh, yes! I accidentally Googled Charles Bradley while typing in my own name, lol! I love his music! RIP to the Screaming Eagle of Soul, Charles Bradley!
Looks like you loved his music so much you had to put that II at the end of your name to confirm his OG status. Charles Bradley is the truth.
every, every, every time I hear this... tears.
This was PRIMAL! Man, it got me all the way down past my soul into my spirit. This is why I follow you, Brother Jamel... you are always giving us these hidden gems. Peace and Love, Brother.

SOOOOOO much soul in his voice. You could hear the pain in his voice and see the pain in his face. That was a religious experience. 🙏🙏👏👏💯
This version is so beautifully painful... you have no choice but to feel it deep inside your soul
OMG....his soul crying out, literally. Wow, just wow. That emotion he feels he's able to sing, had me choked up. My mom is going through cancer and I felt every word he sang.
He took the beauty of this song to another universe. Channeling his mother through every word was electrifyingly beautiful.
Yes, Yes, Yes! I absolutely love this cover. What a soulful voice. RIP Charles.
Best cover of a Sabbath song ever. Amazing. Soul music inspired these English performers. It comes full circle. Much love.
Jamel, I saw this spectacular and very special man his last show in Seattle before he passed on. And his POWER live was just.... indescribable. His voice went through you and it was something you could feel. It was amazing.
