- 👋 In todays video we take a look at the all new 2024 BMW X1 M35i! In the past, the M35i was reserved for the BMW X2 and now not only is it on the BMW X1, but this is the first time the X1 has had an "M" edition! The 2024 BMW X1 M35i has a great looking exterior in my opinion! It's very sporty looking and even though this is the smallest SUV in the BMW lineup, aside from the X2, it has a large presence to it! The front end retains the kidney grill, but very proportional for it's size and the hood lines give it a great look! This 2024 BMW X1 M35i has upgraded horsepower, larger brakes, M sport everything, from the seats, to the steering wheel and it's exactly what an "M" should be like!
The interior for this 2024 BMW X1 M35i has the two tone seats and such a nice vibe! All of the materials are very nice and it's what you would expect from a BMW! For the price of right at $60K, it is expensive, but you are paying for all the performance and the "M" SUV that you are buying!
The 2024 BMW X1 M35i drives like an M BMW should! It's so much fun and with the exhaust or exhaust sound, it has a great sound! The shifts are smooth, and with the adaptive suspension, it's a smooth and comfortable ride! For a small SUV, it's spacious and practical and if you need a small and sporty SUV, the all new 2024 BMW X1 M35i is a great option!

Be aware if you're planning on buying this model. There is a huge design fail, those 2 cutouts under the front headlights leave the radiators exposed. Which makes it easy for it to get punctured because those holes are larger than they seem. A rock hit mine while driving and I've had it for maybe 2 weeks. They should've really added mesh grill to them. The cherry on top is that warranty won't cover it 🙃
This is a very common BMW design! My 335I F30 has oil coolers in that area, my X5 G05 also has oil coolers and radiators in that area. I have never had an issue with rocks and the radiator/coolers are just as exposed. I mean the regular radiator goes pretty low on most cars and there have never been an issue. Maybe you live in a crappy area and got unlucky and a large rock broke your cooler.

what do you think about comparing this with the new GLC 300 4matic ? Similar Price point. Apart from the sportiness this offers, the GLC also has a mild hybrid system and a decent power behind the wheels with a ton of comfort options and a bigger vehicle overall. While the 2025 X3 will take quite sometime to arrive in Australia, these 2 seem to be the only options.

How front biased is the AWD system?
Definitely a litle bit. You can feel the torque steer a bit. Would be nicer to have the true xDrive. But it's still a nice setup and a fun vehicle!
What is the HOLD button for ?
Holds while at a stop. It allows you to release the brake pedal
How was the DCT a lot of people complaining it’s laggy and jittery?
Great question! Heard that as well in previous versions!
Can you install RUclips on the screen?

I had to cut out early because of the swinging camera, was making me noxious.
Where exactly did you see that? Whole video is smooth and stabilized..
I actually like the size and shape. I believe BMW touts this at 5.1 on their 0-60 or at least they do on their site. Either way, pretty quick.
I’ve seen a bunch of sites show it’s a bit quicker! Most of the bmws are quicker than what bmw states! But it’s a quick little suv!

Excellent review, but if I may respectfully give you some constructive criticism. Please don't be so quick moving the camera while you are talking as it can induce dizziness and nausea in the viewer (others agree). Otherwise very well done.
I mean the camera has a built in stabilizer and it seems smooth to me, I’ll see what else I can do with that.

It is, for the size, but when you realize the purpose and the performance. It makes sense.
So for an additional $10K-$15K over a comparable regular X1, whaddaya get? Quad tailpipes, piped in sound, a second faster, and stronger brakes. Whaddaya lose? Well, poorer gas mileage, no spare, bouncier ride. And what didn’t change? Still have lag and jerk from a stop. Seats are not better than sport seat option in X1.
Just depends on what you want. This has a more performance oriented drive. Some people like myself like that. It ads excitement to a small crossover. I drive an Audi R8, so to me, this X1 M35 would be a fun crossover to give me excitement. The standard X1 is great for those who just want a normal crossover. Buy what works for you
Yes, buy what you want. Personally, I find my $45K regular X1 with 18” wheels and all the trimmings like lumbar support, heated seats, premium package, etc is roomy, nimble, quick, and comfortable. Don’t like lag and jerk from a stop, and a washboard feels like a minor earthquake. The ride in the M35i is not better, maybe worse.
@@johnbrews9724 there’s zero lag or jerk, that’s what you thought after driving one? Ride is fine, zero issues with that.
Could add that in snow this vehicle’s AWD is OK in a straight line, but can’t take a curve. Just skates wherever it wants to go.

Iconic sounds is 100% speakers. The pops are not real.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed My mistake I though it was a 8 speed ZF. BMW doesn't even have dual clutch even in their full fledge M cars, so it's a bit surprising to see a dual clutch in a budget entry level X1.
@xFlared look at the price and see how budget it is. For the msrp, bmw better puts a dual clutch ZF
@@xFlaredA ZF8HP would not fit in this category. Also the ZF8HP (Longitudinal) is far better than a dual clutch. It far reliable, far easier to maintain and a lot smoother. Now a DCT makes sense in this platform, as there are not great options for a transverse set up.
X1 literally has the same leg and headroom #s as a X3. Cargo (less) and hood (longer for V6) are what's different besides the 8spd.
M35i stays on both X1 and X2. Nothing going away btw.

X1 is very good in every way but the ride quality. Suspension sucks, the seats are not that comfortable
