I own both the 212 and the 414. I thought the 414 upgrade would, as the advertisement said on the website. Give me 4 input's and more clear head room for recording and or live streams. It turns out the 414 actually has a bug for windows 10, pro, or higher and for what ever reason is way quieter then the 212. This is during recordings and live streaming. Second of all this is not a simple 4 input interface, which I learned the hard way. The front inputs are pre amped and the back 3, 4 are not. So now I own both devices and am scratching my head wondering -212-414 ? lol

I'm sorry to hear that you have encountered problems. I can see that you have also raised your concerns with our Support Team and Betty, from the team has replied to assist. Please continue to discuss this with her so that we can identify what's causing this.
There are no known bugs of this nature. All of our USB devices, which includes every generation of Scarlett, Clarett+ and Clarett USB, use the same driver on Windows so there's no reason why you should experience an issue like this with a Scarlett 4th Gen but not a 3rd Gen. The 1/4" inputs provided on the rear of Scarlett 4i4 are fixed-gain inputs. They still utilise a preamp but don't have a variable gain section, like the inputs that are located on the front do.

@@FocusriteTV I have no problem live streaming with my set up and the team can see for them selves. The scarlet 414 records at a very super quiet volume even though my signals are almost peaking. This happens during live streams as well. I first Bought a M1 MacBook pro with my scarlet 212. the Mac and 212 had issues so I bought a new tower with windows. 212 worked great but I wanted an upgrade for more inputs during my live streams. and the 414 had better options and features.

Where are the signals almost peaking? Where is the recorded signal metering in your software?
