People forget that she already gave these people a chance, sometimes people she wondered at the time if she SHOULD be giving them a chance. This guy strangled his girlfriend, and it was not the first time he physically abused a woman. Judge Boyd can't have "I didn't know she'd be at her mother's house" because A) it's probably a lie and B) could end up in a woman dead.

He can't phone the mother in law.

I disagree strongly with the judge on the last case where she sentenced him to ten years then changed it to eight. Like come on, at least listen to what he has to say after he explained himself -- the defendant never would have stated true if he would have known that he was going to get eight years. Like yes, he obviously has an extensive criminal history of violent crimes but you still have to be fair...

Love Judge Boyd's compassion, desire to see the defendants change their lives as well as insuring that the victims get justice; HOWEVER IN THIS CASE I FEEL THAT SHE WAS WRONG. THey told him that he had to pay, and fulfill all of the requirements and he got his violation out of sheer desperation. He had to have the documents and the money to pay for the probation requirements and he did just as he was supposed to he left when the girl arrived., All of his pertinent documentation was at her mother's house and he didn't know that she would show up. IT is clearly evident that she came there intentionally around the time that she knew that he was there

The Judge simply skated thru all this, didn’t ask defendant how and why he’d made contact with his ex which would be her norm to ask, then messed up about her miss-sentencing of 10 years in prison for him, when the attorney advised her that the max was 8 years she denied given him 10 years very arrogantly. When the defendant got the chance to fully explain the circs re forbidden/unintentional contact , she simply shrugged her shoulders. Bad handling of the case, below required standard; she’s normally excellent so what went on with her ?? Disappointing and disturbing.
