- Fosi Audio just sent me their new SK02 DAC/Amp for review. This made me consider the question: How much desktop DAC/Amp do you really need?
In this video, I review the Fosi SK02 and draw some comparisons to the Hidiz S9 Pro Plus as well as the JDS Labs Atom 2 (both of which will have full reviews coming soon).

MrAyrit, Thanks for posting this video.
Of course, as is the case with any listening session/review, how a given audio component sounds is due to an accumulation of all the gear you have attached in the chain. For example, I connected the SK02 through several amps - like the Fosi V3, Aiyima A07 Max, and Fosi ZA3 (with all 3 of those updated with Sparkos Labs Op Amps), and the bass capabilities were nothing short of phenomenal - that is very tight and dynamic. When connected to the likes of the Cambridge Audio AXA25 and AXA35, the sound was softer so to speak. Then you have the cables used, etc. So everything together has a synergistic effect, so I never take just one review for granted.

Yup! And thanks for the examples. I have exactly aiyima 07 and axa 25. I perfer the axa 25. More sound overall...meaning...wider and fuller overall
Interesting DAC. The big comparison is how does the new Fosi Audio SKO2 compare with the famous SMSL SU-1 DAC ? Sound Signature? More detailed?
Which sounds better SK02 or DX1 I think it is still the king in the price range 100$
I'd probably still lean towards the DX1, but that's from memory.
They don't have the same power. K02 is balanced, Atom is SE. On single ended it has about 4 times less power than the Atom, that's why probably the Atom is more suited for big cans.
