I was kind of set on getting a K11 for my IEMs and my HD600 but this looks like a pretty nice (and slightly cheaper) alternative. Thanks a lot for the review

I currently use the Fosi Audio U3....what can I say...I like it! It's a little more simple than what is on review here but it packs plenty of punch and has an interchangeable internal chip that can quite seriously alter the sound signature. I use an Audioquest Dragonfly Red/Jitterbug FMJ from the PC to feed the U3. The U3 came equipped with an Japanese Radio Company NE5532 op amp which I switched out for a Burr Brown opa2604 (one of my favs), the difference is night and day. I also tried an opa1622, Muses 8920, Muses 8820 and an Oracle 2. I stayed with the Burr Brown opa2604. The opa2604 took away the 'glare' of the JRC NE5532 that's often mentioned when the U3 is reviewed. It also added bass weight, a wider soundstage more depth to the music in general, not quite 3D but just better, smoother. The opa2604 rid the U3 of the 'glare' or in other words the splashy symbols and sibilant nature in general. It is definitely a more organic op amp that bodes well with the Dragonfly Red feeding it. Yes, this is probably the most budget Headphone amp I could find that is worth table time but with a decent dac and some rolling of the op amp it is staying on my desk for sure. It puts some serious power into my Sennheiser 560s and bounces nicely off the AQ Reds dac chip with the more organic Burr Brown opa2604 in the chain. Quite a nice little surprise to say the least and a little expensive comparatively and as Fosi Audio says, it is fun to use!

@@TheHonestAudiophile ...and thankyou. The Burr Brown opa2134 sounds really nice in the Fosi Audio U3, just popped that one in today and fed it via the Audioquest Dragonfly Red with Jitterbug FMJ. Using the Senhiesser 560s it sounded very nice, even if better that the BB opa2604!

Well, as we all know - reviews are subjective. And our perceptions can vary based on what ancillary equipment we have in the chain, along with cables. I've found that the SK02 attached to amps like the Fosi V3, Fosi ZA3, and Aiyima A07 Max (all with upgraded Sparkos Labs Op Amps) produces prodigious bass levels - subterranean, if you will with a noticeable dynamic punch. This is the first area of the music that caught my eye. When I listened to Saint Saens organ concerto #3, I was stunned at the 30-32 Hz massive organ notes that shook the room. Yes, I have a powered subwoofer engaged. Then when listening to a 24 Bit 192 Khz recording of a British Brass Band, the bass drum whack almost threw me off a chair. Everything sounded musical through my KEF and Wharfedale speakers - so again, I guess it depends on your room and what you have attached to it.

SK02 vs FiiO K11? which one should i buy to drive Hifiman HE400SE?
K11 has a little more power than SK02 both will drive the HE400se to volume.
Hi David, can Sk02 drive sandara well?
As mentioned in the video, it will drive planar headphones like the Sundara, to volume but not really bring out the capabilities of them. It is listenable and doable though.

As mentioned in the video, it gets to volume but isn't bringing out the full capabilities of the R70x.

all 3 can drive the 660s2 but the K11 needs to be used with 4.4mm balanced output. If you seek a more neutral reproduction the K11 is a solid option. The K7 is warmer and the AO300 is more detailed and resolving with more warmth then the K11 but not as much as the K7 @@caturtrisnantoaji679

Will this drive my HIFIMAN HE400SE ???
As stated in the video, it'll get them to volume but wont bring out their full capabilities but it would be listenable.
How many mWh do you would be enought to drive them properly? Thanks ! @estAudiophile
A better option is the JDS Labs Atom+ which has 2600mw and is also $99 but is only an amp. 2000mw would be more than adequate but 2600mw is even better.

I wasted money on the SK02. Dry, lifeless and a bit shouty. I will still use it for something, but defiantly not that great. I guess for $120CDN, not sure what I should expect.
