Quite a comprehensive shootout. I have a few dongles myself, but I gravitate to bluetooth enabled ones for convenience (Fiio BTR7, Muse M4), because usb dongles just tend to disconnect in my pocket, or even break my phone's usb (happened twice) while on the move. At my desk, nothing beats the Chord Mojo 2.
Just ordered the Kinera Celeste plutus beast and I've heard it suits certain sources better than others, wondering what you would recommend with it? Also how would you compare the SK02 with the fiio q11? Would one of them be better with the plutus beast than the other? I do have a dx3 pro+, an smsl su-1 + sabaj a10h, a btr3k and a hiby r3 ii so looking for something I can take to work or traveling that has a bit more power. Wish I had a selection like yours to choose from 😂
Wow what a beautiful collection, this will be a great watch to see a massive comparison video between dongles so thank you for it! Do you have any videos on your collection and what got you started into the IEM world?
Wonderful comparison, now I cant wait to see one about cables, I see that you have the hakugei golden bodhi pro, a little mini review comment? Value for money technicalities and sound signature?
What a wonderful review, it's always a pleasure to learn stuff from you. Huge respect. I was wondering what do you think about the Moondrop Dawn Pro in general and more importantly paired with the CKLVX D41. I have both on the way and I'm curious if it's a good match. And one more question if I'm not taking too much of your time. What do you think about the Dragonfly Cobalt?
I would like you to compare the leaders in the $80, $100, $150 price categories with each other, does it make sense to spend more money to buy a more expensive DAC and what advantages do you get over the previous one?
i have the onix alpha, got it for 80 dlls, i have the fiio ka13, paid around 65, and the tp20, for 33 dlls, right now pd6 is around 75 dlls and the aful snowynight is also about that price... i was watching the ru7 but its 150 dlls... so if you can help me i will aprettiate so much... also i was watching the Shanling UA6, but im not so convinced about it.............had an eye on tp50 but its a little bit more expensive than pd6 and snowynight.. tp50 is around 85 dlls.
Thank you Tony, these reviews are priceless for us. Does the Snowynight offer similar head-stage width/depth compared to the Colorfly CDA M2? Without taking the cost into consideration.
Yes very much the same performance. CDA has the display which is nice and if you can get it with a discount so as to mitigate the price difference is say go with CDA, but only because of the features, not sound. In that department they are identical.
@@akros9333 thank you so much. Due to the sale today I added the M3 II to the lineup. I am considering the Snowynight, CDA M2, and/or stretching the budget for the Moonriver ti. When you find that synergy between an iem, cable, tips, and a dongle it's just beautiful. Apple dongle users missing out. 👍
Whats your thoughts on expensive daps ? Are they worth the money ? Or is your set up better with the nx7 and a dongle dac with the ability to change the sound using countless dacs, i suppose with one dap you are stuck with that dac and the synergy with iems which you cant change unless you EQ or something or have an ibasso dap which you can change dacs via modules
Well expensive daps are just that ...expensive. I much prefer having my NX7 and hooking up whatever dongle I want . Allows more versatility.....allows more synergy variance ......and with some dongles offering crazy good sound. DAP has the convenience going for it of being a all In one, but anything above 250usd makes no sense. I use a V60 with my NX7 Frankenstein Combos and honestly I couldn't be happier
@@akros9333 thanks for your reply, i allready have the shio dongle and its sounds amazing to my ears so i will probally invest in a nx7 which i can hook up to my tablet. The v60 phones sound incredible, its such a shame LG stopped making phones, i think they would be making the best phones today if they were still making them
I am looking for a new dongle that works with goole pixel 8 pro phone. My tanchjim space, btr 7 (wired), ddhifi and dawn pro don't wotk with pixel. Anybody that have decent dongle that they use with pixel 8?
Hm, only the Ibasso DC06 which is not as good as the DC04 PRO? I am disappointed :) BTW: the ugly ARTTI T10 came in and they sound great, thanks again! Very clear sound and good bass, especially while listening to 80s music and that for 55$
Naa... U dun have my numero uno dongles Yup FC6 by hiby.. The rest of urs ha3 my fc6 will eat all em for supper (sonically) .. Have u tried??.. Ha3 maybe not.. Peace!

I was listening to dongle dac reviews today and was thinking I wish akros would do a current video on the subject. Miraculous timing!
Excellent most excellent review Tony….I’m more impressed with the FiiO Q15 you every day with it. What a beast. Thank you 🙏.

First to comment and thank, Tony, for this comprehensive dongle survey! 😃🎵🎶
Hi, what is that black USB Cable at 4:00 that you used for any of these DACs?
Thanks
Great content. Get well soon. Eventually if you get the chance, please compare with fiio btr15 and hiby fc6
Thanks for the review, The yuki is the one that interests me the most.
I've been content with the Cayin RU6 since it came out. The sub bass is so nice. Best I've heard outside of the WA11 Topaz.

It’s really helpful you added chapters for the video

I am in awe and amazement of the of the sheer magnitude this man has in this hobby, It is very engaging to watch!
Good afternoon. Please tell me why you don't use a DAC from Fiio?

Would you review FIIO K17, it's specs are TOTL and has crazy power in desktop mode
Just watched your vid about the simgot super mix 4. I wonder how it would pair up with the iFi GO Bar Kensei? A possible video 😊??!!??
Would be nice to know how is Cayin ru7 vs onix alpha vs QUESTYLE M15i
Would love to see the moonriver 2ti if the yuki is in there too.
Hi there what is that light purple cable you have in the middle?
great comparison, thank you! Which of them has the deepest and tallest soundstage (not widest) and the best separation in layering?
Great video, very comprehensive! Of all the dongles you own, which allow for an inline mic to be used? (e.g. for phone calls)
