Batista is my favorite wrestler. As a kid Mark Henry breaking into the cage and injuring Batista is the moment I remember most out of wrestling. I hated Mark Henry for that. And now because it was so memorable Mark Henry is one of my favorite wrestlers.

Batista did not replace Jindrak in Evolution. The vignettes were shot after the initial debut of Evolution. When Batista was out healing from an injury, the vignettes were shot and Jindrak replaced Batista, but Jindrak was pulled from the group before he ever appeared with them on TV and they just kept with a 3man group until Batista returned.
I could listen to Bruce doing Cornette for hours.

& Conrad is trying to make like it doesn't bother him but I believe he hates that everybody he cohosts with hates Meltzer. I neither like or dislike Meltzer but Conrad has a man crush on him & acts like Meltzer is the definitive source of wrestling research. Who cares what Meltzer rates a match it's one man's opinion. & would somebody please tell Conrad it's all of A sudden not all of the sudden he drives me crazy saying that
I know they didn’t and will never cover this topic. The reason why Batista was injured so often was due to big Dave being on more gas than a Formula 1 race. Batista kept tearing his biceps, triceps and other muscles because he was too big for his tendons.
Bruce better be dropping some "Batista bombs" on this episode...

Couple things not discussed, but great show, during the move to Smackdown and John to Raw, there were rumors Vince was doubting Batista was THE guy and wanted Cena on the premier show.
@joshpecksdad7159this doesn’t even make sense. In early 2005 Batista was even hotter than Cena. So from January 2005 to June 2005, when they had the draft and switched them, what exactly did Batista do wrong that he didn’t become the guy. He had just finished the HHH feud that was white hot.

Pretty sure Jindrak was booted from evolution because Randy and him were not good for each other from a maturity standpoint. For Bruce to say Randy was one of the voices saying he needs to go is a bit off.

@@m00rtin4Triple H did not want Jindrak at all, He was so against it but Vince was for it. They did the right thing in waiting for Batista to return from injury, This is all covered in the ruthless aggression evolution documentary which is well worth watching.
IMO.... They needed a "heavy/enforcer" for the group and Jindrak didn't fit that bill....

Those were from 10 years prior though. Bruce's point is that by 2002 those characters were outdated for the most part.
This podcast best days are way behind it.
Failing to pair Brother Love with The Deacon was a horribly missed opportunity. Literally, Bruce could have been to Batista what Paul Heyman was to Brock (especially since Batista's mic work has never been particularly good).
1:22:00 He said what a lot of people were thinking about Smackdown (and frankly, taped shows in general). WWE almost got put out of business because they were running a taped show against an upstart live show.
perhaps we'll disagree but batista's promo work post evolution was quite good
Sad that these videos are only getting a little over 1,000 views. There is still some great content on here. It just doesn't come as often. I think the show would be much better if they got rid of Conrad. Let him just do the behind-the-scenes stuff. No offense to him but he is not a great host. I think he's the worst part of these channels and before someone asks then why do you listen, I listened because I really want to hear what Bruce has to say just like I want to hear what Eric has to say. So I suffer through listening to Conrad who married into the business and is a money Mark that provided a platform for these people but shouldn't be the voice of it. He's not even one of the top hosts. Brian last is much better so is the gentleman who runs Kevin Nash's podcast. That being said if Bruce ever retires or leaves WWE again, I have a feeling that the channel will take off once more because then there will be an entire new set of years to cover. All the modern stuff that he refuses to cover now, will be able to listen to him talk about. And that will be fantastic. I don't want him to get fired or quit WWE but if he does that's what I will be looking forward to

Clearly most Meltzer is an idiot Eric said it, Bruce said it and others getting that outta the way. Man, Cena vs JBL and Batista vs Triple H dude I remember that being “Gotta watch it” Wrestling every Monday and Thursday and ppvs. It showed WWE could make more stars after the Rock and Austin Era. I loved Batista I was lit when he won. It was hard honestly looking back who I was more excited to see win Cena or Batista but after it won at 21 you had that feeling of “Wow I’m living this great moment” but also “Man I cannot wait till Monday night and damn Monday was good what’s gonna happen Thursday!!” It was such a great time. I look at that and feel thankful I lived during that time.
Moving Batista and Cena to different shows in 2005 was stupid and Cena possibly never gets boo’d the way he did if he stayed on smackdown longer

He’s trying to milk as much money from Meltzer fan base as he can because he knows they’ll pay for anything involving wrestling

Been listening for long time but I mean guy has been told by people who actually know stuff that’s blatant lies million times and acts like they’re wrong and somehow this Meltzer guy deserves credibility. One of them has no credibility and it’s either guys he interviews or Meltzer. If it’s not guys he’s interviewing than I’ll gladly stop listening.
