It’s quite ironic that during bartomeu’s time as club president he was making the same mistakes rm we’re making during their previous galactico eras. Meanwhile rm were changing their transfer policy to one where they sold players for a profit where possible and were a lot more financially responsible than they’d ever been.
25% of Barca's LaLiga TV rights for 25 years receiving €607m as a one of fee. Which works out at equivalent of just over €24m Euros a year received all at once to give back 1/4 of something in the region of €165m (2019/2020 TV rights deal according to Marca) which is just over €40m. So paying 1.7 times back per year on a short term lever tells me the folllowing. The super league is not dead for Barcalona as it wont have fo give any La Liga TV deal income back if it does not receive any La Liga TV income. The Super league horizon is set at just short of 15 years before Barca make a loss at this deal assuming no inflation. So 5-7 years realistically as TV deals and inflation are insane. Barcalona a really in a terrible position financially as you cant do deals like this more than once. 49% of the club's own studio also goes along similar lines. They wont be expecting to keep that company.
Btw barcas studio, the company that is sold for the 3rd and 4th lever where a section of Barcelona’s business that was not producing revenue, so basically they sold an unproductive asset that they hope that working on it with other companies will help it produce revenue, so I think in that aspect they did a pretty good deal
I yearn for the days when Barca hadn’t sold out and had UNICEF as their sole shirt “sponsor”. Now they literally sold the naming rights to the Camp Nou 😟
But when they put UNICEF on the shirt it was never with the intent to keep it there. It was always supposed to be the first step before a "real" aka a paying sponsor came in.
A very important detail is all La Liga clubs sold 25% of their tv rights for 50 years as part of the cvc deal that La Liga kinda forced on them. All but 3 who refused who are Barca. Madrid and Bilbao so la liga told those 3 clubs to either sell 25% to someone other then cvc or they’d be punished. So this is where the levers thing came up Barca didn’t do it voluntarily but were forced to by La Liga. And the deal they got from sixth street is much better then what cvc offered. More then double the money for only 25 years not 50 and Barca can buy back their rights whenever they want. So whin Atletico Madrid. Sevilla. Valencia etc are hooked to 50 years with cvc Barca are only on 25 years and can buy them back anytime
still there is no such thing as free money. In the long run, FC Barcelona pays a rather high price. After all, the club now has to give up a quarter of the TV revenues for 25 years. A new TV deal will start in Spain next year. Barça will receive around 200 million a year. Of this amount, the club must therefore give 50 million to the Americans. Suppose FC Barcelona's TV revenues remain the same until 2047. Sixth Street then has earned its money back after ten years and eventually takes 1.25 billion. That is 740 million above the purchase price of 510 million. Money that would normally have gone to FC Barcelona. The return for Sixth Street is likely to be a lot higher, because the TV rights are sold again every few years. Until now, this always leads to higher amounts for FC Barcelona. And therefore also to higher contributions to Sixth Street.
@@Stanleyhamer Actually Barca received around 607 million and some reports suggest it’s 667. Also they wouldn’t have put that repurchase clause if they didn’t plan on buying back their rights in the future after they get out of this financial mess which I’m assuming will take less then 25 years and even tho this deal might sound inconvenient (which it is) it’s still a lot better than what La Liga offered with cvc
As a Barca fan im obviously worried about the current situation. Although sporting wise they are doing good under Xavi🤔😀 it is what it is, but hopefully they get back in some years. I say years cause it is gonna take more than one year
Sandro rosell was one of the reasons laporta won the election, since he was friends with Perez, he asked him to keep quiet about the Beckham transfer lie, and he was also one of the reasons we got Ronaldinho, but won't change the fact that he's the sole reason for our downfall when he was elected in 2010.
As a Barça fan, I have to say... the strategy to overcome the hardship is absolute shambles. I really hope this season pans out as a success, otherwise it's going to be HELL for a LONG while.
Fucking love how 11/12 season's trio is in the top 5, despite two of the three scoring only 29 between them. Messi is the other 73 on his own. Ridiculous.

@Naazahs he's not wrong though and no one is blaming Messi here, we actually miss him but if he never left we would be screwed coz then Bartomeu would still be our president and we would've never ended up in our rebuilding phase
@@naazahs9045 no ones blaming him? He left like he was going to eventually, unfortunately we were handed the group of death but our squad is miles better then when he was here because we always relied on him.
There is a lot of exaggeration by content creators and mostly ignorant English media about what goes on in spain. Just yesterday the laliga president Tebas and Laliga director came out and said Barca will never go bankrupt. All the levers they activated this season and the assets they sold where only worth 5% of the clubs total revenue a season, and also the total debt of the club is only 875. Million and not 1.2 billion, again this is not said by the club president but by the laliga president and directors who have access to the the accounts of all the clubs in laliga. So what laporta did this season is just sacrificing 5% revenue for saving the club financially and inturn the clubs merchandise sales and they are filling up the biggest stadium in Europe for almost every matchday now because of the competitive team. And the words from the laliga executives proves that this whole misconception and narrative mostly by rival fans and English media saying that if barca don't win the CL this season then they will disappear in 2 yrs and will go bankrupt is absolutely BS, ofcourse Barca wants to win and it's not a club owned by rich owners so it generates revenue through winning and other streams, but it has not much financial implications as it is made out in the media, especially since the club barely sacrificed just 5% of its total income every season.
The turn around for Barcelona all started with the election. Victor Font had great ideas, but that's all those were...ideas. His ideas are votes and fans buying into a project. A project is just a rebuild and nobody wants a rebuild. His opponent however was a man who voters already knew. Someone who didn't need to sell them on anything bc he already proved himself. The last time Barcelona was on top of the football mountain(excluding prime MSN era), he was in charge. Laporta is the hero of the recovery story. Without him, none of what has happened successfully so far for the team, would have happened. The Neymar situation was the start of fan hatred toward Bartomeu. Bc his arrogance and stubbornness is why Barca lost Neymar. At that time, Bartomeu was trying to snatch Verratti from PSG. To which PSG responded by demanding Barca stop or else they'll take one of their players. Barto kept trying...PSG went for Neymar. Which btw is a constant thing. In 2018 PSG warned Barcelona to stop trying to sign Rabiot. They also warned Barca against trying to get Neymar back, as Barto was trying to, to save himself. And even last season, PSG warned Barca not to try and talk Messi into a return. The overspending was a desperate man trying to save his job with no real idea how to do so. The manager position became a revolving door. Those managers were given players they didn't want or ask for. Couldn't get the players they did want and ask for. Bartomeu just kept spending money. As for Laporta, what helped him achieve what he achieved this past window is his well manners, respect for clubs, and he's a good talker. Laporta's job is to sell players on joining the team and at a low price, and talk other players into restructuring their contracts. He did those things without being disrespectful or aggressive. When media would ask about a rumored target, Laporta would praise the player, praise that player's club, and then say words to deny interest. Every player they signed...wanted Barcelona over any other club. They all had other offers and some better offers, but wanted Barcelona. Why? Its still Barcelona 1st and foremost. But also, Laporta and Xavi.
A small correction, it all started with Sandro Rosell. Pep did not extend his contract due to his constant interference. He also had done many financial irregularities...
It's a little too easy to just blame everything on Bartomeu. Some of the problems started as early as under Laporta 's first period and it is generally tough to be re-elected if you tell supporters the whole truth. They would rather believe the lie and vote for the liar, than hear an uncomfortable truth.
6:51 Not sure if this counts buy Kane scored most goals in calendar year in 2017. Ronaldo won Ballon D’or that year and Messi won twice subsequently. Fair to say they were still in their prime.

Barcelona fans don't realise it yet, they have signed away their two decade future for the next five years.
Nobody: Tinashe *BARTAMAYO*
🤣
I agree.. Bartomeu is the greatest president in Real Madrid's history 😁
Perhaps you should've made this video after the UCL group stage was over. Second time in a row for Barcelona not to reach the UCL play-offs.
they will be there for a while, look how long it took for liverpool to rebuild. we didin't see them for almost 7 years in ucl after 2010
Watching this after barca get knocked out from europa league by man u
As a Barca fan im obviously worried about the current situation. Although sporting wise they are doing good under Xavi🤔😀 it is what it is, but hopefully they get back in some years. I say years cause it is gonna take more than one year
Barca and united recovery starts
@@Som3D two fallen giants🤔😀
@@fredrikdahl1230 united are far far worse than barca..its not even close..united are a mid table team now unlike barca
@@mangshu21 yeah. I meant compared to being seen as champions league contenders, Although Barca could have a possibility to win it this season🤔

been watching your content, quite the quality man.
3:07 did you say "touch grass" LOL 🤣
For contex those all future revenue were just 5% of Barca earning
Sandro rosell was one of the reasons laporta won the election, since he was friends with Perez, he asked him to keep quiet about the Beckham transfer lie, and he was also one of the reasons we got Ronaldinho, but won't change the fact that he's the sole reason for our downfall when he was elected in 2010.
Sandro is a very talented criminal. He got caught and that's where the downfall of Barca began (illegal signing of Neymar in 2013)
@@lorenzomunisami6083 why it is a illegal signing ? Neymar came at the right time.
@@lexkanyima2195 illegal as in to do with money, not Neymar himself
Robben vid PLS, he has such an interesting career.
Na boet this right here is quality content, i genuinely get excited when i get a new vid notification from you, keep up the grind.
The dembele one aged well.
Perfect summary! Thanks
the longer your videos the better
As a Barça fan, I have to say... the strategy to overcome the hardship is absolute shambles. I really hope this season pans out as a success, otherwise it's going to be HELL for a LONG while.
Laporta masterclass
Great video as always mate.
Finally for fuck sake I've been waiting, thanks man
Fucking love how 11/12 season's trio is in the top 5, despite two of the three scoring only 29 between them. Messi is the other 73 on his own. Ridiculous.
The longer the video, the better ❤
Second.
I'm Watching From TEMA West 🇬🇭 Ghana.
Best Sports Channel Of all time.🔥🔥😎
I'm pretty tired of Barca fans claiming "Everything is fine." It might be, but we can't know that yet.
I think barca got their money to buy these new players from their sponsor spotify coz I remember watching this other football channel mentioning that barca got 700 million from spotify
they sold their TV rights bou
Barcelona is mad crazy with their summer transfer😱
I love your content man
Right on time for lunch love it
The football man is back ladies and gentlemen
Yo yo yo our G coming back with another banger !
Barca may have a good season but they are missing so much income the next years. I guess it's like on last big run before collapsing.
5-10% per year of future income. Don't drink the media coolaid.
Really well made video. Earned a sub from me
As a Madrid fan thank god that super team is over
They were insanly good
Barto once sued a Spanish RUclipsr for calling him Nobita lol
Another top video mate
I will always stand by my statement that if Messi never left we would've never been able get back on our feet, we were relying on him way too much
Yes ofcourse, blame the only one who gave a shit, constantly carried the team to trophies and leagues and then getting his hard work undone by sloppy and demotivated teammates. Brilliant !
@@naazahs9045 its like when people blame ronaldo for United's problems
@Naazahs he's not wrong though and no one is blaming Messi here, we actually miss him but if he never left we would be screwed coz then Bartomeu would still be our president and we would've never ended up in our rebuilding phase
@@naazahs9045 no ones blaming him? He left like he was going to eventually, unfortunately we were handed the group of death but our squad is miles better then when he was here because we always relied on him.
Best team in football for 15 years.....1.4b in debt........ I see.
The ending of the video didn’t age well in 1 month , Europa league Once again ✈️
We need a part 2
Tbf they are going to be good this season even if they won’t exist in 3 more
14:53 welcome to franchising like in every US sport :D.
So why it is wasted for 7 years by progressing ?
A small correction, it all started with Sandro Rosell. Pep did not extend his contract due to his constant interference. He also had done many financial irregularities...
It's a little too easy to just blame everything on Bartomeu. Some of the problems started as early as under Laporta 's first period and it is generally tough to be re-elected if you tell supporters the whole truth. They would rather believe the lie and vote for the liar, than hear an uncomfortable truth.
Yes! Finally this video! Forca Barca💙❤️
6:51 Not sure if this counts buy Kane scored most goals in calendar year in 2017. Ronaldo won Ballon D’or that year and Messi won twice subsequently. Fair to say they were still in their prime.
