Such a cool aircraft. Can’t wait for the Romanian IAR 80-81 and the Finnish Myrsky 2 or the French Potez 630 series. Keep these going. This will be a great series.
ruclips.net/video/5bSGBcyF-T0/видео.html Ed Nash’s military matters has one on the IAR80-81!! He has tons of awesome videos I watch every night. I just found this guy but I like his vids too
Reggiane Re.2002 Ariete il secondo (Ariete II) is a plane I absolutely love, it's design is just beautiful ^^ Also dang, I did not know it actually did so much, sinking a number of transport ships and damaging a battleship so much that it had to leave the battle field. That's quite the work all things considered and the Fact they were planning to add them onto their carriers if they ever got fully launched...Italy really does have a lot of interesting "what if" scenario, more then that of Japan. I love it. also I would love to see you guys make a video on the piaggio P.108! that plane is just sick and lovely, i especially love the 20 mm remote control turrets :,D
Speaking of this Italian aircraft towards the end of the war or 1944 actually used by the Germans to fight the French resistance including the Maquis in Corsica. Bongart Squadron
Too Little Too Late , could be the motto of the Regia Aereonautica ^^, however I don't understand what you mean by " the failure of the Re.2000" , the Re 2000 was an excellent aircraft of the class of P 35, P43, P 36 etc , too late in fact, there was also talk of dishonesty in the choice of the Fiat G 50 and Macchi C 200 and in the exclusion of Re 2000 and Caproni F 5 (the latter perhaps even better, for example absolutely free from autorotation phenomena present in the G 50 and C200). The Re 2000 obviously had some weaknesses, lack of armour* to defend the pilot and a tank protection system called "semiapization" which was not efficient, but these problems were common to many contemporary aircraft (second half of the 30s) * The Hungarians attempted to add armor to the Heja but with detrimental effects. Anyway, my compliments a really nice channel
When it comes to choices for war, you need a reliable weapon rather then a temperamental sport car. Performances are important but not the only concern. Industrial capability, chain of supply, easy of construction, sturdiness of the frame and the time it requires to be repaired, engine cooling and the presence of a suitable sand filter. The G50 was the obvious choice as it was the only monoplane readily available in 1938, but the Mc200 was definitely the superior aircraft compared to the other two, with the minor autorotation problem swiftly solved by adding 10 cm of span on the right wing. The later Re2001 and 2002 were both much better engineered, with flush rivets and a much safer tank systems, but, as every single plane design from Italy, they were not very good in term of man hour required for the assembly, and the whole chain of supply paled compared to the British, German and American industry.
Could you discuss why almost all Italian later-war fighters and fighter prototypes had basically the same fuselage design, despite being built by different companies? I‘m thinking about the G.55, Re 2005, Macchi C205, and also the C202.
I'm late but the reason why the C202 and the C205 look so similar is because they are the same plane with different wings (they are thiccer on the 205). Also the 202 was produced before the other 3 so maybe it infuenced their design.
Interesting (and ironic) that it was to be a fighter bomber, as its Re 2000 ancestor was heavily influenced by the design of the Seversky P-35 (which eventually lead to the Republic P-47... which excelled as a fighter bomber).

Because ariete is a name for something that breaks, destroy, breaks through, so it is perfect for a tank, a tank division, and a ground-support aircraft (kinda like the aim of this plane)
Italians named litteraly "everything" Ariete? I do not agree: it is just a tank (and, of course, an armoured division)and a plane, not everything as you said.
Keep the Italians aircraft coming!
The best thing is that Stan also narrates these videos.
And the minecraft ost aswell
Glory to our brothers!
Thanks for your support!

This is great. Italian WWII aircraft hardly ever get as much as a mention.
Stan has very nice voice to listen to!
Please do an article on the Macchi MC.205 Veltro.
At last, a rarely covered and very interesting subject, good choice for first video !
Glad you liked it!
Nice! Good too see a new channel! :)))

They weren't the same design just convergence evolution.
La somiglianza è dovuta allo stesso motore in linea montato.

That striked me immediately, esspecialy in the rear view. Similar purpose and quite similar design.
Here starts the journey!
Nice! Great idea to expand to air warfare
I loved the video, excellent,well documented, 1A!
Lets go, PE YT channel !!
Just a not 225 of the Re2002 was built 60 of them were delivered to the Luftwaffe 149 to Italia.
Great aircraft, but it wasn’t suitable for mass production in Italian factories

Awesome history video, thank you! Not an awesome plane as far as winning though.
Why do the Italians name ‘literally everything’ Ariete?
Tanks, planes, etc.
Because ariete is a name for something that breaks, destroy, breaks through, so it is perfect for a tank, a tank division, and a ground-support aircraft (kinda like the aim of this plane)
Mean ram

Reminds me of the boomerang from Australia
It’s better looking.
looks like a p-47 with a thick italian accent lol.
Too bad the Italeri kit of the Re.2002 is awful.
Looks like a Hawk
Let's emphasize the last wordsin every sentence, shall we?
Was that new Minecraft song?

Hello there!
Hello! Welcome to our channel!
@@PlaneEncyclopediaYT congratulations for your first video of the second channel!
ITALY HAS A. SAD HISTORY . ITALY WAS NEVER READY FOR WAR. ALTHOUGH THEY HAD GOOD TECHNOLOGY IN THE AIR FORCE AND NAVY .THE ARMY WAS A FAILURE.
They still had better tanks than the Japanese.
nothing special about the fighter🙄
