Some of her videos are still online, at least they were. She was maybe a few weeks old if that, and already she was traumatized. That rug blanket that she clung to after they dumped her was there right from the beginning in that wretched house. I forget what her name was before they dumped her, but I'm sure a little searching could pull the vids up.
These slugs would tease her by taking her blanket away, which would set her off. Then when she was sort of starting to acclimate, she was killed by one of the males from another troop. And that's instinct. When you're wailing like that all day, instinctual these animals see it as an air raid siren calling to any predators nearby. They usually give them a warning or two, and when they don't stop, what happened to Candy is common.

I love how in all of these videos, the monkeys come to help / comfort her and as soon as she starts to cling to them the instantly realize that she's not only to heavy but also to big and quickly regret picking her up and fighting her off with all their might. If she didn't cling to their legs so they couldn't walk they probably wouldn't care as much but she's just an anchor or a cinderblock pulling them to the bottom of the sea

I know people over there don't care about them but it's pure torture to take them from it's mother at birth and then feed it, bath it , give it attention. Humanize it really. Then one day take it to the forest and leave it all alone. Walk away like it's nothing. That's torture for no reason. Wrong so wrong for humans to do that to these innocent baby's

Yeah and sorry not sorry, but there was nothing g cute about her IMO.... yes I get she was dumped and yes I get that she was scared,bit she refused to learn to live like the other monkeys! They tried showing her how to find food and they groomed her, they tried to be nice and help her adjust to the new life since most of them knew all too well what it was like to be dumped by humans, but she just refused to act like any of the other monkeys.... yes it's beyond messed up that she was taken from her mother at birth and then dumped again later in life after only knowing human interaction and food and all that but at some point just like all the other abandoned monkeys she needed to learn to live amongst the others like normal.... since she would not and continued to cling and scream and throw tantrums she was killed....

Exactly I seen her make progress when they took the towel away for a little while. She would start interacting and doing typical monkey things. But then they would bring the towel back and it was like starting over.

I really miss Candy. I felt so sorry for her because she was one of the most terrified monkeys that I've ever seen. The VO's/Cameramen were so mean to her and they would let her get attacked just so they could make money off of her tragedy and suffering...BASTARDS!!! We ALL knew that if they didn't get her out of there that she would be killed, but they never did a thing for her. Also, the ONLY thing that EVER gave her any comfort at all was her little safety blanket (towel) and they would take it away from her all of the time. Not only did the bigger monkeys torture her, but the VO's/Cameramen were awful to her!!! Everybody knew that she wasn't going to be able to handle living in the wild, but they left her there anyway and of course she got attacked and DIED!!!

Cane baby. She's worse off than the usual RUclips pets. Her posture gives away a past of getting hit with a cane and being tied up with sticks. She sits upright and walks pretty naturally. I may be wrong if she has a broken hand, but I've seen quite a bit of video across a long span of time now and I'm pretty sure she always goes up on hind legs around humans.
the vo's are the problem, following or running her down, teasing her by taking a towel she should've never been given in the first place, not to mention what she probably went through as some wretches so called pet that dumped her anyway, she's terrified & it matters, I know she's gone now but still, there's no reason what so ever to torture her or any other living thing just because they claim their own kids gotta eat, they most certainly do not need to eat off the torture of this baby, mom & pops probably have never sent a dime from a donation or anything to help any of these monkeys, they need someone with a good shot just waiting for some prick to dump another baby, senseless
People leave these monkeys in their habitat. Yes, they do look like you can and will give them alot of love. They have a place where they should live just like we do as humans. Taking them out of their habitation and dropping them back to it hurts them more as we can see what has happened to poor Candy and others. Think before you do, PLEASE.

Well, yes, it is that she had a great life, and no, it isn't because she knew damn well the monkeys were not her owner and she had no reason to believe they were to cater to her. I watched a very disturbing documentary just recently about how a lot of the babies are stolen from the mother. Firstly, there are monkey farms where the females are constantly kept pregnant so twice a year they give birth and the baby is taken away immediately. The second way was evil. The mother was killed just before the birth and the baby was cut out of her stomach and the baby revived and sold. The woman who did it was not a medical professional but knew exactly what to do. Monkey babies are not a substitute for a human baby just like a human baby is not a substitute for a monkey baby. I know that having a monkey baby as a pet is forbidden in some countries but you will always find people who take no notice and do it for money, like the Vo who was Candy’s owner. Once the baby gets bigger and more difficult and demanding, destructive. dangerous, they get rid of them and the baby has no idea what to do to survive.
Candy was probably a difficult monkey if she was as clingy as she is here , I don’t know but she got dumped and was dead within a few weeks.
I think they are only coming to her aide because they see yall and they want food.

You nailed the storyline they all adhere to: They see another abandoned monkey. Never have they shown the owner dumping the monkey. One video only showed the owner’s neat-o tee shirt and bare arms holding the soon-to-be abandoned monkey, draped in a towel, at arms’ length.

6:18 there are four monkeys in a humpforting pile around her, one hugging her like a sibling and another who came earlier and gekkered in empathy. She has no idea what's going on. She hasn't been raised with constant attention off-cam with fellow monkeys when she was in captivity, as she takes every moment to select humans instead. She would have had the usual fear of bigger monkeys she'd have never seen before with a sprinkle of abandonment pathology at the first like the rest of them do if she was just a RUclips pet, but "pet" wasn't her day job. Candy seems very sweet, this is the first time I’m watching her on video. Being kept as a pet wrecks their lives. Even the sweetest BB type monkey, kept in the best and most affectionate way possible, grows up and becomes much too large to be kept confined.😢.
I guess this is as good a place as any to bring up some thing that really bothers me. I’ve noticed that often young male babies still nursing catch the eye of adult males who seem to have sexual assault on their mind; these babies often have males trying to mount them and the mother, in several cases that I’ve seen, doesn’t budge an inch. That really makes me feel angry and sad for the little ones.

She'd been poached much too young and a ratty old towel was her surrogate mama. It was the only comfort she'd ever had. So of course these people snatched it away.
Candy was isolated her entire time while in captivity, when not filming, she was placed in a cage in a room, alone. With a filthy urine soaked brown towel. The reminisce of it is now used to torture and tease her with now. The VO's find this humorous when they take it from her and she has a meltdown! Her only bit of comfort was sucking her toes and clinging to that nasty towel! She had no stimulation nor any interactions with other primates. Why they isolated her is beyond me. That is why she is so clingy and awkward towards other monkies! It was too much for the juvenile monkies, they tried to comfort her, but she pushed t😢hem away with her clingyness!!!! Sad but Candy is in a better place now. She would of got raped by older monkies, impregnated and would of been forced into early motherhood and would of probably either killed her baby, or it would of been kidnapped and murdered by another monkey.

She never groomed anyone. She never comforted others. She never learned etiquette or rank or how to forage or climb trees. She grabbed food out of bigger monkeys hands and screamed like a banshee when monkeys the same size as her refused to carry her around. She was there for sixth months, she spent more of her life in the wild than as a pet, and yet she never improved past being what everyone insisted she be treated as; a completely helpless “baby” monkey who needed round the clock love and protection and a special blanket to snuggle. She died because she was too busy feeling sorry for herself to make any effort at not draining the entire troop around the clock. I’m convinced that had she never been a pet and grown up normally, her fate wouldn’t have been much different. That level of neuroticism is more than just being a pet, that’s in her dna.

I always felt sorry for candy but like somebody else said the way that she clung is what got her to be hated so much. I have studied primate most of my life and I have never Seen or heard of a primate act or Cling on to other monkeys as bad as she does even though it's really bad abuse situations. A lot of this mostly is Her personality and then maybe a little bit of her being abandoned. She made herself so easy to hate. Abandoning her and giving her that towel was done so to purely cause drama because there's no revenue and drama free videos. This kind is the worst type of primate for some reason they have a physical problem with like personality and acting out the way that they do when they're mad. they always get a negative response and still they don't freaking get it......
