This monkey died back in September 2021. She was part of the made-up Sovana troop and within a span of two weeks had three mysterious "accidents", the last of which was an injury to her abdomen where her intestines were protruding.
she did end up torn apart for being clingy, needy and screechy + vo idiots came round and gave it food and it took it out of turn, the troop sent enforcers multiple times to teach it a lesson but it never learnt and burnt all its chances

Candy does not know how to cling on the monkey and her manner of clinging poses a danger to whichever monkey she clings on. During her first 2 days, she pushed away the monkeys who wanted to attend to her.
This monkey was a pet for a long time. She was well treated,kept inside,groomed and fed. Why she was dumped back in the forest I don't know but this is one monkey that should have never been released. Thanks to Navy Doom and Kunty and their bright idea to establish a park for monkeys that were abandoned, she suffered horribly.

Im suprised how patient these monkeys are with her espically with her not belonging to this troop.Most troops would tear her apart if she jumped on them and tried to cling but even this troop will grow old of her clinging and start getting physical and not allow it.
They are their own troop now, I mean it’s nicer the day their own true I guess the owners could have sold them for the meat they do eat monkey meet there or I guess he could’ve sold her since she’s females are breeding farm, They rarely steel newborn babies from their mothers anymore as they have little farms that breed all of the newborn babies for them…They also have farms that breed for the medical labs they export about 10,000 a year to be tested on since these animals have such a high pain tolerance… So I think dumping them here is probably the best they’re going to get the other options don’t seem that great to me

I read the reason she clings so much is due to isolation, the only thing she was able to cling to was that nasty towel. And she was not paid attention to. After her screen time, she’d be put back into her cage and was all alone. Explains her awkwardness! She was not treated well at all! There is a vid about it.
Baby monkeys shouldn't be fully separated from their moms until like 11 months. When they're taken as newborns, they're basically screwed. Studies have shown it messes them up in almost every conceivable way. The VOs didn't help just recording her. There are sanctuaries that could've helped.

There’s a couple of vids showing a mature pigtail, Burnita, attacking Candy. First time she attacked her because she wouldn’t let go of Burnita’s leg then attacked candy right after for crying about the first attack. Burnita didn’t draw blood but she got her pretty good.

She did not learn how to survive. Clinging is an instinct. Newborns cling to their mothers 24/7 and infants will still cling to their mothers after nursing has ended. Female NHPs remain physically close to their mothers until they’re around 18 months and will even help care for younger siblings. Macaques have a very strict social hierarchy, but this isn’t innate - it’s learned. Candy never had the opportunity to learn how to live in a troop. Does she appear to beg for food in this video? Not that I remember. What I did see was the fear grimace. The “fear grimace” on Candy’s face is not her begging for food. It’s a behavior exhibited when the VO’s are too close. It is also used amongst the species. I’m certain she begged for food just like other macaques who live in areas inhabited with humans or where they regularly encounter humans. These VO’s always dole out junk food in order to earn their trust so they can get closer footage. Tourists feed them and that has made some very lazy monkeys. However, the former “pet” monkeys beg because they never learned how to forage. (I formerly worked for the Smithsonian National Zoo as a primates habitat designer and later with PETA as a field investigator.) 😊

It’s a yearling that needs to be injured repeatedly until it learns, just as it’s mother would have. It’s a spoiled child and that clinging disappeared when there was food available. If it had truly been terrified, it would have continued to cling. The other cast off pets here aren’t much better. This isn’t a need for it. It is a want and it’s not good for it or the others. I was attempting to point out that had Candy learned this when she was still an infant this behavior would not be rearing it’s ugly head by the time she became a yearling. You’re correct and it would have been nipped in the bud early on. I did not notice anyone offering her food so I will rewatch the video. The only time I recall her being alone was when she was standing bipedal on the rock and giving the VO that fear grimace. Infant NHPs and HPs are very similar. They both cry and throw tantrums when they’re hungry or want to be held. Candy’s maturity and behaviors are more infant than yearling. Typically, the tantrum stage would be long gone by the time an NHP reached a year of age. We both know it would not be tolerated by an ordinary troop. I’m not sure if this troop has a name? I have seen numerous former “pets” in the Sovanna troop behave similarly.
We all know what happens with this kind of rats. We remember Lizza, Daniela, Calvin, Lola, Lori, Heidi and helpo. They were all annoying and didn’t follow the rules in their hierarchy. Elpida/Ame isn’t having the time of her life either. The only reason why some monkeys are near them is because they know they will get food.

Hiedi wasn't annoying at all she was quite the opposite I do agree with most of them u mentioned but she was sickly from the get go. This poor girl is so mentally and emotionally damaged that i don’t hold out much hope for her. She’s basically a basket case. And while this little troop is very good with newcomers, they are already getting annoyed by this needy clinger. That’s a bad sign. If she makes and remains part of the troop, she’ll eventually become a low born.
Another problem is, they're mostly traumatized juveniles themselves, and they keep being given more traumatized infants to care for. It is an impossible task which will exhaust them pretty quickly. It's only mazing that hasn't already happened.
I'm so glad this little twerp is dead. She was so self centered and was such a nuisance to this troop. Her owners stated that she was unbearable since the day they got her and started to become aggressive with their little girl out of jealousy. The lady said she couldn't hug her daughter without Candy/Rosa having a meltdown. They rescued her from another owner but couldn't take it anymore. I'm sure they don't miss her one bit. This really is tragic situation. Candy was poached as a super new born raised in a home with people. Then at 8-9 months they dump her cause it wasn't fun keeping a monkey as a pet??? Im suprised how patient these monkeys are with her espically with her not belonging to this troop.Most troops would tear her apart if she jumped on them and tried to cling but even this troop will grow old of her clinging and start getting physical and not allow it.

They are their own troop now, I mean it’s nicer the day their own true I guess the owners could have sold them for the meat they do eat monkey meet there or I guess he could’ve sold her since she’s females are breeding farm, They rarely steel newborn babies from their mothers anymore as they have little farms that breed all of the newborn babies for them…They also have farms that breed for the medical labs they export about 10,000 a year to be tested on since these animals have such a high pain tolerance… So I think dumping them here is probably the best they’re going to get the other options don’t seem that great to me

I read the reason she clings so much is due to isolation, the only thing she was able to cling to was that nasty towel. And she was not paid attention to. After her screen time, she’d be put back into her cage and was all alone. Explains her awkwardness! She was not treated well at all! There is a vid about it.
Baby monkeys shouldn't be fully separated from their moms until like 11 months. When they're taken as newborns, they're basically screwed. Studies have shown it messes them up in almost every conceivable way.
The VOs didn't help just recording her. There are sanctuaries that could've helped.
She was taken from her real troop. From her mom. She was a pet later and had his owner but not for long. VOs brought her here and ofc she is isolated. There’s a couple of vids showing a mature pigtail, Burnita, attacking Candy. First time she attacked her because she wouldn’t let go of Burnita’s leg then attacked candy right after for crying about the first attack. Burnita didn’t draw blood but she got her pretty good.

Notice in this troop there are pigtails living with crab eating (long tail) macaques. This would absolutely never happen in the wild. Candy did not learn to be a monkey. She did not learn to forage. She did not learn how to survive. Clinging is an instinct. Newborns cling to their mothers 24/7 and infants will still cling to their mothers after nursing has ended. Female NHPs remain physically close to their mothers until they’re around 18 months and will even help care for younger siblings. Macaques have a very strict social hierarchy, but this isn’t innate - it’s learned. Candy never had the opportunity to learn how to live in a troop. Does she appear to beg for food in this video? Not that I remember. What I did see was the fear grimace. The “fear grimace” on Candy’s face is not her begging for food. It’s a behavior exhibited when the VO’s are too close. It is also used amongst the species. I’m certain she begged for food just like other macaques who live in areas inhabited with humans or where they regularly encounter humans. These VO’s always dole out junk food in order to earn their trust so they can get closer footage. Tourists feed them and that has made some very lazy monkeys. However, the former “pet” monkeys beg because they never learned how to forage. (I formerly worked for the Smithsonian National Zoo as a primates habitat designer and later with PETA as a field investigator.) 😊

It’s a yearling that needs to be injured repeatedly until it learns, just as it’s mother would have. It’s a spoiled child and that clinging disappeared when there was food available. If it had truly been terrified, it would have continued to cling. The other cast off pets here aren’t much better. This isn’t a need for it. It is a want and it’s not good for it or the others. If there is a big mail in this pseudo troop, someone will get hurt.

I was attempting to point out that had Candy learned this when she was still an infant this behavior would not be rearing it’s ugly head by the time she became a yearling. You’re correct and it would have been nipped in the bud early on. I did not notice anyone offering her food so I will rewatch the video. The only time I recall her being alone was when she was standing bipedal on the rock and giving the VO that fear grimace. Infant NHPs and HPs are very similar. They both cry and throw tantrums when they’re hungry or want to be held. Candy’s maturity and behaviors are more infant than yearling. Typically, the tantrum stage would be long gone by the time an NHP reached a year of age. We both know it would not be tolerated by an ordinary troop. I’m not sure if this troop has a name? I have seen numerous former “pets” in the Sovanna troop behave similarly.
We all know what happens with this kind of rats. We remember Lizza, Daniela, Calvin, Lola, Lori, Heidi and helpo. They were all annoying and didn’t follow the rules in their hierarchy. Elpida/Ame isn’t having the time of her life either. The only reason why some monkeys are near them is because they know they will get food.
Well the VO & his stories says Elpida is doing great 😩glad to see someone has eyes to see that each monkey with her waits to be fed!! If no feeding they leave her alone😫

This poor girl is so mentally and emotionally damaged that i don’t hold out much hope for her. She’s basically a basket case. And while this little troop is very good with newcomers, they are already getting annoyed by this needy clinger. That’s a bad sign. If she makes and remains part of the troop, she’ll eventually become a low born.
Another problem is, they're mostly traumatized juveniles themselves, and they keep being given more traumatized infants to care for. It is an impossible task which will exhaust them pretty quickly. It's only mazing that hasn't already happened.

I'm so glad this little twerp is dead. She was so self centered and was such a nuisance to this troop. Her owners stated that she was unbearable since the day they got her and started to become aggressive with their little girl out of jealousy. This really is tragic situation. Candy was poached as a super new born raised in a home with people. Then at 8-9 months they dump her cause it wasn't fun keeping a monkey as a pet??? Their RUclips channel never got enough views?? So now here she is, can't climb a tree properly and sleep with a modicum of safety. She only knows how to cling and cry. She just wants to be cared for, but these monkeys are her age and they don't have patience for this nonsense. I am glad they have accepted her into their little group. She doesn't seem to understand social cues from the other monkeys, which could be dangerous for her. Its a shame someone could just take her home. I understand its a ton of work though.

This one won’t last long - it appears it needs so much security that it isn’t foraging for food. It will probably starve to death.
They don’t forage here, they are ex-pets that get fed multiple times a day by the VOs. When they get older and the VOs find other young cute monkeys to film, all this group will perish with no foraging skills.
So shouldn't they start training them to forage?

Why? She doesn't t know how to be a monkey. That is not her fault. She was kidnapped, made a pet, forced to be human like, her owner discardedhrr like so much trash, and she doesn't even know how to safely cling to a monkey...just a human. Poor child didn't and doesn't deserve any of what she has already been dealt. She's been free, what maybe a week? How do you figure she deserves what she gets? Honesty??
