Treadling a Singer 46K49 / Fur sewing machine.

This is our attempt to add some power to a head of a Fur sewing machine. We already has two with motors but Judi and I travel with our display and at times do not have power at our disposal. So Treadle power is the answer to us. Our first attempt thus far, using a Larger wheel on the machine and a domestic sized ( smaller ) treadle wheel. We do have a long way to go. This will grow, I am sure as our needs do. Very happy so far with this result.

From my Understanding the difference between the two is its use and needle size. These machines are purpose built and I believe the 39 is for a lighter fabric. The Needles for the 49 are very hard to get , where the needles for the 39 are much more accessible. This is my opinion. I hope someone else could be more helpful. Thank you.
